Well... stupid me... I cannot figure out how to bring photos into this thread. If you go to community photos in the tool bar, I've uploaded pictures of the remodeled trading post.

No big changes... new floor, fresh paint, gobs of disney trinkets, no camping gear (you need to go to Meadow for that) some food items, but mostly snack stuff. I was kind of let down, because I expected the "new & improved" trading post. It's basically the same, just freshened up.

Debbie :)

Well, if you are stupid, then I am an idiot because I have never been able to post pictures on any board I have ever been on, even with help from mods. :lmao: :rotfl2: :headache: Chances are you will figure it out and be posting far before I am.

I tried to pull pictures from the photo gallery to here, but it didn't work.

so it's basically still another gift shop. fabbi

if you upload them to photobucket, you can just post the IMG code, very easy to post that way.

Wow, it's amazing what they did in 3 days. On the 12th, it was bare from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. I need to go back, lol.

Hmm, definitely looks different as far as the merchandise layout (and obviously the new floor), I really like it actually.

Also, does anyone else notice the large selection of wine behind the counter?

I remember that the Meadow Trading Post always had a rather large selection of liquor behind the counter, but I don't ever remember seeing so much wine behind the counter. The other thing is they almost all appear to be the same kind of bottle, maybe one or two different. Wouldn't it be cool if they had a Fort Wilderness wine...lol

Thanks for posting the photos!

The changes look good.

The Fort manangement gets kudos for getting this job done quickly and efficiently.

I am always glad when I see $$$ getting invested at the Fort. It means that WDW management plans for the campground to be around for a while.

I like the look, too, it reminds me of the gift shop in the Wilderness Lodge.

I was looking for something bar related for my brother at the AKL my last trip and checked out the assortment of goodies behind the cash register for a few minutes before a castmember came over and asked if I needed anything. I told her the item I was looking for (didn't see it there on the wall with the other stuff). She said they don't sell anything alcohol related at Disney World because Walt wouldn't like that, I asked why (it was too stupid at this point to be funny since she and the counter were in between me and the drinky items) and she said that Mickey didn't drink. Hmmm. We backed away from her quickly and on the way out my kids reminded me that one of the first Mickey cartoons made had Mickey in a saloon out west drinking a huge beer. (Don't remember the name, it's on the Disney Treasures DVD of MM cartoons).

haha, as she was standing in front of the alcohol, that is hilarious. You can buy beer/wine/liquor pretty much anywhere in Disney EXCEPT the Magic Kingdom, alcohol is one thing there is not a short supply of.

We were looking at some FW or WDW shot glasses and the CM said they were toothpick holders.

Now I know what Disney did with those 500 cases of Ratatouille wine Cosco was supposed to sell for them. Those crazy Disney guys - pretending to back out of the deal and then selling the stuff for pure profit at the Settlement Trading Post.

Must have been the same woman who wouldn't sell me a bottle since my son was with me! I asked her if I should sell him and then come back for the bottle?! She told me she couldn't sell it to me since he might be the one drinking it..he was 18 at the time. Now really...you are on vacation with your kids...alcohol is for sale and if you have kids with you you can't buy it??

Wow, I can't even believe she refused to sell you it. I'm not one normally to call for a manager, but I definitely would have in that situation. That is totally wrong of her to deny you, just because you have someone underage with you?

I can't imagine that Disney management would be very happy with that kind of situation :/

Wow, they must not sell too much liquor at all if it is only to people at disney that come w/o kids! They sure don't take that stance over at World Showcase during Food and Wine!

Oh..I did get it! I would never let some-one like her stop me :) I walked to the next counter..picked out what I wanted and purchased it. This woman was just a nut. The rest of the trip she would proof everyone..even the old people..it was a hoot to watch peoples faces when she asked for their drivers license!
