I don't know how many of you watch Sesame Street, but I've caught it a couple times this week because of days off and watching it with DS.

There was a hurricane on Sesame Street :( and Big Bird's nest was destroyed. Like I said, I've only caught maybe 3 airings of it this week but I really liked the way they handled how everybody got through the storm and Big Bird's reaction to his nest being gone.

When I mentioned it to DH, he said they probably did it so that everybody knows what the kids in Florida went through recently and I had to agree with him.

Sesame Street handled it in just the way you would expect, explaining everything in a way that small children would understand. They did it in a way that would make Jim Henson (goddess bless him)very, very proud.

Now I've not watched Sesame Street since I was a child, but I find myself watching PBS more and more since I've had DS. It's good to know that the Sesame Street I grew up loving as a child may have changed, but the core values and message is still there. :)

Way to go,ya'll. ::yes:: Ya did good.

That's one of the fun things about having kids...you get to watch Sesame Street again!!LOL!!

I think they produced the Hurricane shows shortly after 9/11, but it certainly is timely to broadcast them again.:)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...:)

PBS is wonderful...don't forget to send in your contribution;)

Ohhhh how I miss those Sesame Street days! I think I enjoyed watching it more than my kids:teeth: I truly think it's the best kids show ever made.

I remember seeing something in the news saying they'd be airing those episodes again soon, in honor of what FL has been through.

We watched that one this morning too. They really handled it well. Good job Sesame Street.

::yes:: ::yes:: I agree - loved it.

I now miss a lot of Sesame Street every morning as my son has taken to sleeping longer in the morning (this is good, but bad at the same time as it makes us have to move at a breakneck pace). I caught about half of this episode.

I love Sesame Street. I use to watch the old, old reruns that came on Noggin at 1:00am. Dh laughs at me but I know, although he won't admit it, deep down he likes it too. ::yes::

My kids have loved Sesame Street this week. Here in Ivan country, it's nice to see that Big Bird can relate to our messed up nest!::yes::
