I don't know how many of you watch Sesame Street, but I've caught it a couple times this week because of days off and watching it with DS.
There was a hurricane on Sesame Street
and Big Bird's nest was destroyed. Like I said, I've only caught maybe 3 airings of it this week but I really liked the way they handled how everybody got through the storm and Big Bird's reaction to his nest being gone.
When I mentioned it to DH, he said they probably did it so that everybody knows what the kids in Florida went through recently and I had to agree with him.
Sesame Street handled it in just the way you would expect, explaining everything in a way that small children would understand. They did it in a way that would make Jim Henson (goddess bless him)very, very proud.
Now I've not watched Sesame Street since I was a child, but I find myself watching PBS more and more since I've had DS. It's good to know that the Sesame Street I grew up loving as a child may have changed, but the core values and message is still there.
Way to go,ya'll.
Ya did good.

I truly think it's the best kids show ever made.
