Servers on the Magic

Our favorite server on the Magic for the last two cruises has been Gabriella Sosa. Last time we checked, she had moved up to Paolo's. Does anyone know if she is still at Paolo's?

On our last cruise, our assistant server was Sumchai (can't remember his last name) from Thailand and server Alexander from Croatia. Does anyone know if they are still working in the dining room?

Also, is it possible to request the servers prior to arriving on the date of departure?

I recently e-mailed guest services at DCL requesting a particular server. I was told that they cannot accept requests for a server along with a list a reasons. In the past, we have always made our request as soon as we got on board...so will do the same this time.

We had a server named Gabriella on our cruise in July. She was from Croatia (I don't remember her last name) She was in the regular dining rooms however. VERY nice lady. Married to an Indian man who worked on the ship also.

Just got back and we LOVED our Servers - they were great with the kids (as well as us adults LOL). Phillip from Croatia and George from Bulgeria. They did magic tricks, played with the kids and were top notch. Even our Head Server (Kayan) was excellent. We saw him everyday - whether he was helping clearing the tables, answering our requests, checking up on us - he got a nice tip at the end. Not like last cruise when all we saw of Chip (yep that was his name), was to introduce himself the first night and with his hand out the last night. What a difference a good Head Server makes!

Philip and George are the best! We had them on our 10/11 cruise and they far exceeded our expectations. They insisted that we send the kids to the dining room on the night we went to Palo and took great care of them. George also sent lobster dinners to the room for the girls as they had skipped dinner to do karaoke in their club.

I can't say enough about the two of them!

Michelemouse - the kids were fascinated when Philip brought out "Tinkerbell" - did he do that with you? Whoever gets that team has NOTHING to worry about!! Hope they are on the ship next time we cruise.

Yes, he also brought out Tinkerbell for us. He was absolutely terrific every single night. When we cruised George had only been aboard for about a month. At first he was just a bit tentative but by the middle of the week he had found his stride. He even remembered to put my mothers coffee cup on the oposite side since she is left handed.

So many favorites - but having MacLean as the head server just about guarantees you the best service available.

I am partial to Alex, Giorgio, Roberto and Andrea though!!!
