Server too busy.....is it just ME?

Times when I try get into the DIS, or at times I am here and go to post something and I get an error message that says Server too busy.......SO is it ME or the DIS......let me say how darn FRUSTRATING IT IS!!!

It's not you. It is everyone at that particular moment.

Fortunately in many ways the boards are VERY busy. We have a lot of traffic, and many members.

Unfortunately, in some ways that prevents the server from doing what it needs to do. Too much traffic can tie up the server, and additional servers can be VERY expensive.

Pete spends a lot of his time and money to provide us with a wonderful place to chat with friends about our passions. Therefore, I am able to put up with the nuisance of the "server too busy" messages, which drive me nuts too!

Chalk it up to POPULARITY!

It usually happens to me after I've read a few notes ... then ... boom! Oh, well ... I just come back later .

I agree with you guys.......I will SURELY tolerate it, cause this is a great forum to hang out at......just glad it was not just a LYNNIE curse

The other problem I usually have is that when I reply to a thread, my computer keeps thinking and thinking and thinking...

Eventually I realized that it was actually posting my response, just not telling me! So now, after it "thinks" for a bit, I just click out of it and go back into the thread to make sure my response is there.

I get that a lot in the mornings..and almost every time I try to post a reply to a thread..that's why I don't do much posting anymore..I just figured that the new server was getting a lot of hits and kept shutting down..but it does get very frustrating!

geez..now when I tried to post this one..I got this message "Sorry! The administrator has specified that users can only post one message every 60 seconds."..give me a break!!!
