I was going to say the same thing about the Fed. Schools and the post office are closed here but I don't have any idea about the banks. I didn't realize initially that it was Columbus Day today...don't have any reason to. Glad I realized it before I dragged a huge, heavy care package to the post office to be mailed though

AZ - school was in session, and most of us had to go to work.

Wow! I didn't realize how many States do not celebrate Columbus day. All of our schools are closed here in NYS. As well as banks, post offices, State offices, etc.
But the malls are open and they have some sales going on...

Schools were open here in MD. Not a day worth closing anything for, IMO.
