OK, I know that the Disneyland Hotel is really nice, and right there at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, but is the expense vs. say the Sequoia Lodge really worth it? Everyone may have different views, but I'm trying to decide whether to get DW to go along with the Disneyland Hotel.

We'll be at DLP from Oct 16 through 19.

I hate posts that say "vs" because to me, all hotels are great for their own reasons... although, I have only stayed at Sequioa because I love it that much.. it's the whole atmosphere of it.

Someone told me yesterday that DLH really needed a refurb, and as Sequioa is currently getting that.. i'd say at the moment to go with Sequioa.

I have stayed at both & personally would save the money on the hotel by staying at the Sequoia Lodge giving me more spending money.

However if it is likely to be the only visit to DLRP & you can afford it then the DLH is a must:thumbsup2

Actually I have to agree with the previous poster who dislikes "vs." questions. It really is up us and how we value various aspects of the stay. Thanks to both posters. I'm really leaning towards staying at the Sequoia due to the cost.

Actually I find all of the DLP hotels a little silly from my perspective. I grew up in California and often stayed in the sequoias at my parents' cabin in the Sierras. I've been to New York. I live in the desert southwest. Cheyenne is "just up the highway" meaning that the highway signs around here point to Cheyenne. (They also point to Las Vegas. There aren't that many cities around here.) And I used to go to the New England coast frequently. All of the hotels that are supposed to be "foreign" are covering familiar territory for me. I guess I'm just looking for a convenient, comfortable place to put my head. This is likely to be the only trip to Disneyland Paris, or at least the only trip in a long time. It depends on how we like it, and how it compares to WDW and DLR (my resort!).

I'd recommend also looking at some piccies of Sequoia, imo it's so amazing theme wise, it's so "homely" and the bar is also fantastic in the evening, great atmosphere.

I'm going to play the Devil's Advocate here and say I absolutely love the DLH.

I love the ambiance of the hotel, the relaxed cooked breakfast, the daily DLH Fastpasses and the fact that you can see the Castle all night long from the hotel.

Don't get me wrong, I do love Sequoia Lodge (the bar especially), but there's just a magical feeling in the DLH that "completes" the Disney experience in my eyes. :cloud9:

Of course it all comes down to budget and what you're willing to pay for, essentially, a hotel room at the end of each day. But if it was my first and only time to the resort for a long time in the foreseeable future I would definately be investigating the DLH or at least keeping my eyes peeled for offers to upgrade to it nearer the time. :surfweb:

Actually I agree with you, but with the US dollar dropping I can't get DW to agree to the added expense of the DLH. I had never thought about checking deals when we get closer. That's an excellent idea!

It's never a guarentee but at least if you choose a hotel you are happy to stay in (i.e. Sequoia Lodge) then you can look forward to visiting knowing that you will be in a lovely hotel - however, if a good deal comes along nearer the time then you can upgrade yourself and stay in the DLH! Total win-win situation :woohoo:
