Sequoia Lodge - shabby?

I thought Sequoia Lodge had been refurbished? Yet, looking at Trip advisor reviews from the last few months there are lots of comments about it being shabby and neglected. Was all set to book GF for Halloween 2017 but now a bit worried. Last two trips were at DLH and finding it hard knowing we won't be staying there this trip (first world problems, I know) so don't want to go for SL and be really disappointed!

It may be our last trip to DLP (she says) so want to make it as special as we can afford.

Pinch of salt required on TR. if you read the DLH reviews there is one that compares the room to a travelodge

I can't help with SL as never stayed there, but I don't take much notice of TR reviews tbh. If the location is ok, you're ok with the room set up and amenities then I don't think you can go far wrong.

You are totally right. I think I am overthinking things. I remember one TA report slating the DLH for being old fashioned and needed updated. Erm, it's Victorian themed! ;-)

The rooms at SL are one of the absolute best you can find in any Disney hotels. They have all been recently refurbished, and are really pleasant. Lake view is top-notch, only beaten by Castle Club rooms at DLH.

I have to agree reviews that say that rooms at the DLH are sub-par. This is definitively something DLP needs to work on, the bathroom is terrible (as bad as those in the Grand Floridian if you've been to WDW), the beds are SO small (I'm not kidding, they must be 1.4m large at most, and they expect you to sleep at 2 in those, what the fudge, my wife and I will never accept sharing a room in this hotel), the furniture is outdated. None of this is to be found in the SL.

Disclaimer: for various reasons (we have a lot of Disney friends and we have organized many events at DLP in the past), I have seen a lot of rooms and suites at this hotel, and I have been deceived by none.
