We will be in WDW next week staying at BCV. We have never gone in September before and we live in the Southeast corner of Pa. While looking at the forecast for next week I noticed thunderstorms predicted just about everyday. Is this just the passing kind that last maybe a short time that you may get when its hot and humid or is it pretty rainy in the Orlando area this time of year.I thank everyone ahead of time for their answers.

Prepare for showers to be hit or miss daily between 3-6pm . Mostly they will last 45-60 minutes.

These are great times to shop it eat indoors as the park often empties out for a long while with people thinking the rain will last hours.

Always wear clothes that will dry out quickly , forget the ponchos....

If you follow Orlando's daily weather forecast, you will find that thunderstorms are predicted majority of the year, September included. Typically, in September you should expect two to three a day mostly in afternoon to early evening. Sometimes you get days without a storm but don't hold out hope for it. They last anywhere from 25 to 40 minutes each with some significant downpours during that time. Once over, the sun comes out and by less than an hour later everything dries up and it is sunny and hot until the next one comes.

We have visited Disney in the fall for the last 14 years. Most years, it is just an afternoon thundershower a few days of our week long visit. We have had the occasional Sept visit where we had days and days of all rain. That has been the exception, not the rule, but it has happened.

We have never been at Disney when a hurricane hit - we always seem to dodge the storms. We will be at Disney in a week and a half - hope our hurricane free streak isn't broken!

We have been there when a hurricane hit and they had to close all the parks. Yes, it was rainy and windy, but it still was not a wash out. We lost a day in the parks, but the trip wasn't ruined. So, even if a hurricane does hit, don't let it discourage you. You need to have rain gear and extra shoes to switch into each day and you can just keep going!

We actually prefer stormy weather. Rain keeps the crowds level lower. We usually take individual ponchos and umbrellas. Also take spare clothes, but usually stay dry with poncho/umbrella combo.

While everyone is finding cover from the rain, We can navigate from attraction to attraction with very little wait. I don't usually do shopping at this time because everything is very crowded.

Heading there ourselves next wednesday, not afraid of little rain, but what are the temps like. Coming from north of Toronto, Canada. Is it really 30-35 this time of year. Im going to melt, lots of dole whips then.:goodvibes

I am assuming you mean 35 celsius which is about 95 degrees fahrenheit.Yes it is that hot at least for next week, but the big thing is the humidity which will be high. This is the first time for us going in early September which is suppose to be a really good time for low crowds which was our main reason for picking this week. In fact I think I read it on another website that this week is considered the second lowest crowd total of the year.We went in the middle of October before which was really good weather.Nice and warm but not too hot. Just a little more crowded because of the wine and food festival also I don't think we would have gotten BCV seven months out for that time of the year.We will see what we think at the end of this trip and if we like it we will be back the same time next time if not we will probably try October again.

Yes that is celsius. We have been in Oct many times and love the weather. But checked couple of days ago and flight was a bargin and there was room at SSR, so we jumped at it. I have heard the crowds are low too, so here we go.:cool1:

DW and I went at the end of August, and just like everyone has said, we experienced thunderstorms that lasted 30-60 min. We wore crocs and flip flops, which dried quickly, as well as well breathing dry-fit clothes that dried fast. We had individual ponchos, and one umbrella to share, which was enough. It was raining during Fantasia, but we had our ponchos on, and still enjoyed the show!

Crowd level-fantastic. Rain-not bad at all. Humidity-awful. Like, just standing there and sweat is running down your back awful. We have now moved from September to early December.
