September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Hi all...looks like we have decided to join this great group on the 9/22 Eastern! I am so excited.. I have only done the short Bahamas trips and never thought that dh would go for a 7 nighter but I have worn him down!!! We are waiting until Wednesday to officially book because I just upgraded our Disney Visa to the premeir card so we can get the "double" points on this purchase and it needs 3 business days to activate. It is myself,Lisa, dh, Mark, and our baby (well I guess we have to stop calling her that since we will be starting 1st grade in Aug.) Nicole-(Nikki) .. We are traveling with another family whose dd is my dd's bff.. The other family that we usually cruise with will not be able to make this trip as their ds ,,,brace yourself, does not want to miss school to go on the trip.. Anyway, we will most likely be in a cat 4 family stateroom on deck 9. I'll post my stateroom number next week.. Looking forward to be added to the group- we are from South Florida and love The Mouse!!!

My husband Alan and I will also being staying at WDW before and after the cruise. We are flying in from California so we are going to make the most of our vacation. We are going to fly in on September 19th and stay at the Yacht and Beach club resort and after the cruise we are going to stay at at the Animal Kingdom lodge and then fly back home on October 4th. This will be our third DCL cruise and we are so in love with anything Disney:love: Looking forward to meeting you and all the other great people on this board.:)

Thank you! Sounds like a nice long stay for you all :thumbsup2 I just stayed at the Animal Kingdom lodge in March and loved it. Looking forward to meeting all.

Hey everyone - we are not going to make this one. Due to work commitments can't take this week so had to move our dates.

have a great time!

We are now in the double digits of waiting for our cruise! Woohoo!

Oh yes, I noticed! Today is a great day...first of all, it's payday! But, also, it's PAID-IN-FULL day for us too! WOOHOO,!!!! :cool1: bring on June 24! I am ready to do some booking!

If you are not booking an excursion, How do you get to the shopping areas in downtown St. Thomas? Is it a far walk from the ship?? and is it safe?

I would say the shopping areas are safe. The gang stuff seems to be more in the Coki area, there are some rough neighborhoods around there. To get to the downtown shopping areas all you have to do is walk off the ship, go into the the Havensight area where there will be taxi coordinators. Tell them you want to go to the downtown shopping areas and they will direct you to either a van taxi or an open aired safari taxi. The safari taxis are like a pick up truck with tram style seating where the pick up bed usually goes. They are kind of fun to ride in. I think it will cost $5-$10 per person each way.

...But many have reported that the shops right there at Havensight are just as good as downtown. I've heard from many to just shop there as opposed to spending the money to go downtown. They say it it virtually the same. I'm not much of a shopper so I can not confirm first hand if it is as good, but I will confirm that there is a great selection of shops at the Havensight Mall and it is adjacent to where we dock.:cool2:.

Well, it will take a while to catch up on the posts but wanted to add my name to the list of cruisers. Changed dates to this one and hoping for NO big seas :thumbsup2 Traveling solo with late dining and will stay at the resorts before and after. :)
Blake

Welcome Blake! How fun to cruise solo! Talk about doing whatever you want, whenever you want :)

As Jen mentioned, there is a shopping area right at the port. Don't wander too far though...my SIL and her daughter wandered away from the shopping area and ended up by a Kmart. A local stopped them and told them it was not a good area and they needed to go back. Needless to say, they turned around and hightailed it back to the ship. LOL!

I've changed my plans for saturday Instead of haveing breakfast at the yatch club i've decided to have breakfast at port orleans riverside and then catch the cruise bus there. I know that i will not get to the port until 12:30 or even one thirty But if i would take ME back the airport then i would have have get the eight o"clock ME bus. The ride back to the airport would 45 minutes or longer then another 45 minutes to the port Also i'm going to to Mickey's not so scary halloween party. I plan on staying until at 11:30. Also i have an arrival flight that gets me into orlando around 12:20 am Friday morning. So i will use the late pick up time to sleep. My united flight arrival time isn't ideal but that's all they had
Yes we are:yay::thumbsup2 I also booked our excursion at St. Thomas - Coral World and Butterfly Garden:woohoo:

Although you won't get to the port until about 1:30 or so, I think this is the best plan. You'll probably be up late for the party and this will allow you time to relax and recuperate.

For those who have been able to book online so far, do you know if Pirates League appointments are sold out already? if that is the case and we book the Royal Castle package (which includes 3 visits tot the boutique) we would be able to go on pirate night..thanks.

Thanks. Looks like we will find out on Sunday (or Sat midnight) as well... Dd is too big for her costumes from the last 2 cruises and loves the one on board- it has pink in it).

I don't belive it united changed my departure flight from orlando from 2:21 to 1:30 pm. This is the fourth time. I had them change it to 3:53. I just don't get with this airline. But all the hassles will be worth it when i board the fantasy in 95 days. I more than likey will not be flying this airline again.

Haven't been on the boards in many days, so playing catch up tonight!

It is a frozen chocolate rum drink with Kaluha and coconut cream. They are amazing!

YUM! Count me in on this one for sure!

Just watched the Fantasy sail away........and there was someone on my verandah........but it wasn't me:sad2:
15 more Saturdays until we set sail :woohoo::dance3::yay:

I really like the 15 saturday countdown...

Sorry you can't join us, but glad you were able to move the date!

I love that we are in double digits! And I just made the final payment and looking forward to the 6 months free financing and 5% rewards on our new Disney Premier Visa! I usually don't pay an annual fee for cards, but this was a no-brainer to get 5% on the final payment of the cruise. Love those rewards points!

We have been crazy busy with the end of softball & baseball season (and starting District All Star baseball) and end of school. Wednesday is the kids' last day, so that is when we will tell them about the cruise! I can't wait (although I do need to find those DCL shirts I bought back in December...)

Once we tell them we will need to figure out excursions so I can book things on Sunday! :cool1:

Looks like there are 29 appt. times still available ranging from 9am to 8:30pm, and I'm sure there are multiple bookings per time slot. Shouldn't be a problem, for you. Good Luck!!

Just wondering if someone could help me.I'm trying to figuar out when to book palo or remy. I have requsted Royal court for my first night due to the fact that our first night is my birthday and would like to have my birthday dinner at ROYAL COURT. I've been reading what people think about Enchanted garden. There are some who really do not like it. I have to say that from the photos that i've seen i have some mixed feelings. So i'm going to try and get palo/Remy instead. I'm not that inpressed with the crush show what night is this because i'm thinking about skipping this. Mabey do room service or eat at the buffet. I hope i do not come off as being a snob.:scared1:I'm also not a foodie i like what i like
