September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

  • On line check in complete
  • Excusions booked
  • Palo's booked for wednesday evening
  • 11:00 AM check in time at the port!
So now do I take the bus from the resort and get there after 1PM or do I go from the resort back to the airport and catch the bus from there allowing me to get on board much earlier? What would each of you do?

What i'm going to do is have breakfast at the yatch club at 9:00 and take the bus from there. I understand the DCL bus gets there beween 11:30 and 12:30. ALSO i understand that this bust dosen't have any other stops.

We have Palo on Wednesday evening as well. We will be dining with Paul and Jeannine Ovark from our October 2010 cruise! Paul, Jeannine, Alan and myself also arrive at 11:00 as well at the Port. Looking forward to seeing you and Janet again.

Personally, I would go back to the airport to get to the bus and board early.

So I did lots of research, conversed with the husband, and we ultimately decided we DEFINITELY want to rent a family cabana on CC. Very excited and started researching some more on the DIS boards and--oh no!--apparently the cabanas usually book out IMMEDIATELY! Someone mentioned that they're usually booked by the time even Gold members can book and we're only Silver... (I can't help being only silver! We only discovered Disney cruises as a vacation option after having a baby and, although we've done a cruise every year since he was born, he's only three so we probably won't get to Gold until he's five... :))
Anyway, I don't know if this is possible/allowed/even okay to ask, but I'm reaching out to see if I can impose on any qualified cruisers (Platinum, Concierge or Gold) on our "From F2F" meet board--who is NOT planning to book a cabana--to book on our behalf...? We can transfer the reservation on board or I can send you a check or wire you cash or do PayPal or promise you my first born... Anything! Include a service charge if you like! Demand a very special fish extender gift, request poolside service including sunscreen application and grape feeding (I volunteer my husband for that duty), or even just require us to cheer everytime we see you on the ship. :cheer2: We can do all these things and more! Just say the word!

We would've been happy to book one for you but as of now, they're all sold out. We are Gold members and checked in online Saturday. Wish we would've known beforehand that you needed one. So sorry. Not sure if any were even left as we did not book one for ourselves and therefore didn't even check them out. Do not fear, there is still hope...you can always check for cancellations when you board. We'll keep checking for you, tho. Good Luck!

D'oh! Well thank you, THANK you for checking... At least I know what we're dealing with now! :) I'll put in for a cancelation as soon as we're on board and we'll continue keeping all our fingers crossed!
Again, thank you for checking... I wish I had reached out sooner, too! :sad2:
April
PS--Looking forward to meeting you on board!

Well you know my answer is get thee to the port as soon as humanly possible! :rotfl2:

A little off topic, but since we were talking about alcohol a few pages back, does anyone know if the Bahamian Kalik beer is available in the Caribbean? I had some for the first time on my trip back in January, and it was FANTASTIC. I can't wait to get some more.

In other news, my mother Sharon and I have our rooms booked for our post-cruise stay. I can't wait until they announce the activities for the Food & Wine festival. This will be our first time at that event and I hope there are neat things to see. The only think that bothers me a little bit is if we do a lot of seminars, we won't see much of EPCOT, I think!

I know that most people like getting to the port really early, but we prefer getting there around 12:30 or so. That way we are on board by 1-1:30 and usually our cabin is ready. We drop off our stuff in our cabin and then grab lunch. With two kids, it makes it easier to drop off our carry-on stuff right away then dragging it around with us. Plus, the terminal doesn't feel so crowded as it does earlier in the day. Of course, we haven't cruised DCL since they implemented the whole port arrival time, so the terminal may still seem a bit crowded.

LOL! Too funny!! I'll cross my fingers for you and hope that you get your cabana. I would check every day, just in case someone cancels.

I'd love to try that Kalik beer...I'll keep my eyes open for it when we are in port. Maybe they have it on CC? Where are you staying post-cruise?

The Kalik beer is excellent. I'm trying to think of a comparable US beer that is similar in taste, but can't think of one at the moment. It's a lager or pilsner in appearance, but tastier than most pilsners (Then again, most foreign beers are better!)

We're staying at the All-Star Movies resort. We wanted to stay at POR, but it was not available for CM discounts!

Ok, I have a question. How are you booking the DCL bus to WDW after the cruise? When I booked the only option it gave me was airport transfers.

:)
Just watched the Port Canaveral Webcam.
Looks like its raining there today.
15 more Saturdays.. I like the sound of that!
:goodvibesI'm so excited on wensday i will be down to 99 days only nine days until online check in I'm going to and get remy or palo. I think i really want remy even though it's $75.00. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my room at POR will be ready when i arrive at 1:30 am I'm so frustrated about United . I still can't belive they changed my departure time 3 times. By the way i'm not taking canches i got both the sea sick pills and the patch. See you in 101 more days.

I had to call DCL directly. They will only transport you to a resort, not to a park. I then had to arrange DME through the resort reservations to get back to the airport from the parks (But that trip is free!)

Thanks! That'll work as we're staying at WDW for two nights after the cruise. :cool1:
