September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Its been many months since I last logged on...we've moved to Washington DC from Clovis, so I don't know if the info needs to be updated. I did not want to add ourselfs to the extender list until I knew for shure the trip was still on......AND IT IS! We paid it off 2 weeks ago and we have the plane tickets WHOOWHOO!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
This is our second cruise, first one was last year on the Magic.

let me know what information you need for the fish extender list (I hope I called it right...did not want to click the back button), we would love to participate, and does anyone know how to get the cabana on castaway cay?
Thanks!
Marilisa

The Hollandmiller Family: April Holland, husband Brian Miller, son Roman Hollandmiller, who is 3 1/2. We are from the Bay Area of California (Silicon Valley) and this will be our third Disney cruise. First two were on the Wonder out of LA, traveling to Mexico. Looking very forward to seeing the new ship with all its bells and whistles... Not so looking forward to the long flight in the evening before. :) We're in category 9B and don't yet have our stateroom number. We're scheduled for late dining.
Hoping to gather info on hotel and best options for transportation from airport to hotel and to port.
Also, we're dying to get one night at Remy but our little boy doesn't have much experience with daycare (stays with Grandma during the week) so, while we have high hopes that he'll be ready to stay on his own at the Oceaneer's Club, we are considering contingencies... We'd love to meet up with someone who has a child close in age who we could spend just a little time with who might help ease some of the stress of being dropped off. ("Look, honey! So and so is a big kid, too, and s/he's so excited to go off and play! Don't you want to go, too?!" :rolleyes1) That said, I know most kids end up not wanting to leave the clubs so hopefully I'm being overly paranoid.
Very excited, and would love to hear/trade DCL tips...
Bon Voyage!

Welcome! I've added you to the roll call.:cool2:

Ron

We are about 80% sure that we will be booking this cruise so I can't be added yet to role call or FE but I just wanted to say that this is one of the best organized cruise meet boards I have ever seen..Great job by the OP and everyone else who has chipped in. We are waiting on 1 more family who we have cruised with the last 2 years to confirm this week will work and then we are in!! Hope to be sailing with you all!!!

My daughter is 4, she'll be a month shy of 5 years old when we sail. She doesn't have daycare experience either and I hope she'll love the clubs too. We can try to arrange an introduction.

And so far on our FE group there are two 3 year olds, seven 4 year olds, and two 5 year olds. There will not be a lack playmates.

And if anyone else was wondering about the breakdown for the age groups... From the FE group on left and roll-call on right.
zero 1 year old three 1 year old
one 2 year old zero 2 year old
two 3 year old three 3 year old
seven 4 year old two 4 year old
two 5 year old two 5 year old
zero 6 year old zero 6 year old
two 7 year old one 7 year old
five 8 year old five 8 year old
two 9 year old one 9 year old
three 10 year old two 10 year old
four 11 year old one 11 year old
two 12 year old one 12 year old
one 13 year old three 13 year old
one 14 year old one 14 year old
one 15 year old
one 16 year old one 16 year old
seven more children
39 adults 68 adults

That's a total of 174 people who have said they're sailing! Is our meeting place going to be out of the flow of traffic and able to hold that many people?

Hello Everyone!
Colton (23) and I (Shanna,24) will be joining everyone on this exciting day! We are from the very small town of Spring Bay,IL. This is my first cruise and his second Disney cruise. We're celebrating our Honeymoon! Our room # is 7567, and we have Main Dining seating.
See ya real soon!
:woohoo:

Welcome aboard!:cheer2:

We too are from the Bay Area/Silicon Valley in California. My husband and I both work in Fremont and this is our third DCL cruise as well. The first two cruises were on the Magic where we were so spoiled that I don't know if we can ever sail on any other cruise line :rotfl:

Alisia

Thank you for the warm hello! Fremont, huh? We hail from right around the corner. We're happy to see we're not the only ones flying across the country to take a cruise on the new ship when the old one is sailing right out of LA. :) Look forward to seeing you on the ship!

Sounds great! I'd love to meet up so we can mutually attempt dropping off our not-quite-conditioned-to-staying-with-strangers toddlers! And, of course, I expect after 15 minutes they'll be great friends and will be thrilled to be dropped off together without Mommy and Daddy... ;) (Okay, yes, that's a little bit of sarcasm but what I'm truly hoping will actually happen!)
And thank you for compiling all that info--very helpful and another dose of reassurance that there will be lots of other kids in the same age range to ease the transition!

One more reach out! Just read a great article about the Family cabanas on Castaway Cay...
www.mouseplanet.com/9536/Cabana_days_on_Castaway_Cay
Sounds great but, as the cabana holds six and there are just the three of us (me, husband, 3 1/2 yo son), it seems like kind of a waste at $500. Would love to split the cabana with another family who has an only child close to our little boy's age...? Let me know if you have any interest!
And apologies if this has been posted about already... I just joined and was a little intimidated by the idea of reading the previous 1200 posts. :upsidedow
Best--
April

We're glad we're still on board too!! For a while with the move and all we were wondering if we would have to postpone it. I can't beleive though check in is almost just around the corner.
I'll work up to my 10 posts!
Thanks!

Hello! I've got a question (the first of many I am sure). On your cruise did you stay in ports for the times listed pre-cruise (St Maarten 8a-6:3pm and St Thomas 7:45a-3:30pm)? I've noticed that on the first Fantasy Eastern they had the all aboard time for St Thomas listed as 4pm in their Navigator. I know they usually have the all aboard time at least a half hour from the time they depart, so I think an extra hour in St Thomas would be great!:cool2:

Thanks!
Ron

When we went on the Magic last year, we made dang sure we were on the boat well in advance...we watched people RUNNING to the boat because they were late! (we were standing behind the capt. overlook, watching the look on this face as these guys hauwled it.

Sorry about adding post after post...this whole 10 limit is a pain!
Anywho.
Cabana's....what are the odds of snagging one up?
Thanks.....

That's funny!

We are always overly careful too. We'll definitely be back at least an hour before all-oboard. However an extra hour would mean we could come back in the 3 o'clock hour instead of the 2 o'clock hour.

It is, isn't it...??? You don't have to make a meaningful post each time though. You can just say Hi or whatever each time.:goodvibes

I've seen some people write a sentence but putting one word per post to get to their ten posts!! We're used to seeing it!!

Hi Marilisa,
It's so rare to see someone else on the board with ties to New Mexico. My son and I are from Taos and have lived here all our lives. I havent been to Clovis in 15 or 16 years, though we did have a great time the last time we were there. Welcome to the cruise!

Sorry Everyone! This post is from nenner1 (JEN) not Ron!

Hi everyone!

Just dropping in to give a shout out! As some of you know both of our daughters dance and this is recital week- we have 4 dress rehearsals and 4 shows the girls are in plus I have been working the first few days this week. Needless to say I've hardly been able to breathe! BUT I wanted to stop in and :wave2: as I see we've had a few folks join (and prospectively join) our group!

:welcome:

And I know I have a few PM's- rest assured I won't forget you I just need a few spare moments- more than I have right now! Haha! :goodvibes

I should be caught up with everything the next couple of days when I am off work!

Thanks!!! :)
Jen
