September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Woohoo! Leaving in about an hour for a weekend at Disney! So excited! We are usually annual passholders, but we didn't get them this year. Haven't been since February, so I'm going through some serious withdrawals! Going to Blizzard and Typhoon, which my DH and I have only been to once or twice years ago and my girls have never been. Can't wait! Hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend...I can't believe summer is almost over!

Good Day, I hope this finds everyone well. I just spent some time figuring out how I am going to come up with the cash to cruise. I will need to save at least 250.00 per month. I was going to save so much more but alass have a teenager in the house is really draining the bank account. He will granduate High School next may then we will see if I can't save a bit more. He will be expected to find a job and help pay his way at that point.

The weather is much cooler here at least for today. Expecting rain at the start of the week. We are looking to budget for the move south in about 8 years. It cannot cxome soon enough I am just getting too old to live with all this Snow!!

Got to run but wanted to stop by and say Hello and give the thread just a little bump. Lois

A 5E for our family of 4 would cost $4,695.48

A month later and that went up to $5,048.28

JEN -->> Hi! That photo did help thank you! I like the verrandahs but my kids saw photos and they love the huge porthole with the padded seat. And my husband insists it was only me who wanted the verrandah :confused3 and that he likes the look of the porthole as well. So we're looking at 8C instead now.

This morning I was all ready to book but stalked the Hawaiian one more time and a GYT 11A opened up! $7,740 before insurance, transfers, airfare, anything else. I put a 3-day hold on it... and now have to make up our minds. We could pay this in full by Dec 31st but would still need airfare, spending money and excursion money.

So now I'm torn... would love Hawaii but can I get some nice outfits in early April here? And do I really want us to wear warm spring coats to the airport and then pack into luggage? September would give us more time and clothing options for sure...

I'm nuts! I'm thinking of putting a hold on the 8C for September as well and making a decision mid-January before Hawaii goes into penalty cancellation. :lmao:

I made another cruise payment yesterday. I'm now a little past the HALF WAY MARK:woohoo:

I need to start making more payments, too! This countdown is going to go by too fast, I think! That's a good thing though!

Had a great weekend in WDW. The water parks were so much fun! It rained Fri/Sat/Sun around 3 or so, but that was fine with us. We have the after 2pm passes, so by the time the rain let up, the water parks had cleared out! Little to no waits at all! School starts next week, so we are getting all geared up for that. I'm really looking forward to a more regular schedule...summer is crazy for me trying to work my schedule around kids' summer activities :)

Hi Lois,

Alan and I are "budgeting" too and I am sure you agree it is so worth it. It is not just a "vacation" DCL is an expierience that we talk about every year:love::love:

Hi everyone! Just checking in from Las Vegas. Two weeks of our trial are down, *hopefully* one more week to go but it might end up being longer. As much as I was looking forward to Vegas, it's wearing on me big time and I can't wait to get outta here. After being out of the office for 3+ weeks, I'll certainly be ready for my vacation in mid-September. :rotfl:

Hope everyone is well!!! :grouphug:

Wow! 3 weeks in Vegas?! That's crazy! What kind of trial is it? Hopefully it ends sooner that later and you can get home so to get ready for your Dream cruise! So excited to hear how that goes...are you going to be doing a trip report?

Its a civil trial - - nothing sexy - LOL. I am definitely planning on doing a Trip Report for our September trip. We'll be at the parks for 5 days and only on the ship for 3 nights, but I haven't done a Trip Report for my past several trips and I really miss doing them. Plus, it will help kill time between that vacation and our September cruise. :goodvibes

Oh...no, not nuts! Hawaii is amazing and it is on our short list of must do's for the somewhat near future. :goodvibes Totally understand the conflict!

:welcome: Aboard Terry and family! We are glad to have you sailing with us! We are late diners too - it works well for us but the only real downfall on DCL seems to be that you aren't really hungry for the Pirate buffet (of course the Fantasy's schedule for that may be a bit different, so we'll see!)

For all of those impacted by Irene this weekend, please stay safe! We are thinking about you!

Welcome aboard:woohoo:

You are going to love the ship!! My only suggestion is you might want to try to get 1st. dining. Since you have two kids, one being fairly young, eating at 8:00pm might be a little late to eat. And right you want be hungry for the grand Pirates in the Caribbean Deck Party.

1 month until we are in WDW. Finally, seems we've been waiting for so long here. It's encouraging for the cruise! lol
