Welcome!

This is our first cruise as well, very exciting! I can't really help with the stateroom pick as I'm new to this as well! I'm sure they are all great though and Deluxe Oceanview is what we have too! :)

Good news & bad news
First the bad news, we still have 437 days before we set sail :sad2:
The good news is we have less than a year 347 days before we can start booking Palo, Remy and excursions :woohoo::thumbsup2:cool1::yay:

Everyday we get closer and closer!! :)

Welcome to the group!

I'm sure you'll find lots of answers to questions you may have. Unfortunately, I can't give you any tips about cabin selection since this will be our 1st time on the new ship. I can say that we love, love, love to cruise with the Mouse and all his friends.

Welcome. Ask any questions you might have. You will love the cabin you have booked. Suggestion as I do not think any of the oceanviews will sleep five to look at two oceanviews with connectiong doors. This is the new ship and I am not sure I am correct. On the magic this is less expensive than the family room with the verandah. However catagory two is the catagory that we prefer. Lois

their deluxe oceanview staterooms do sleep 5 :) its why I wont book the magic, because I need a more expensive room on the older ships :( :( I really wanted to leave out of NYC, but the cruise would cost me almost 10 K because of the room we would need on the magic! Hope everyone has a great wednesday!!!!

I looked and the Deluxe Oceanview sleep a Maximun of 4 The Deluxe FAMILY oceanview is the one that sleeps up to 5. That is awesome. You learn something new everyday. I am glad that DCL heard what was needed. I will still book two oceanview on the Magic / Twice the space and bathrooms.

yeah two staterooms was stilling running 7 K, and the fantasy has ports we are more interested in for 2K cheaper..which is why we ended up choosing it!! I am overly excited, Ive never cruised, so I also terrified at the same time:scared1::scared1:

I remember my first. I am sure any of us that have cruised before can share what our experences were. Let us know what you want to know or what scares you the most.

I dont like open spaces.. open water... scares me, pictures of open water, especially underneath it.. movies about open water....lol... also outer space is the same way for me... I fear the unknown and the immensity of both.... space and water... weird right :rotfl2::rotfl2: I am willing to try anything once!

You can go the whole week and avoid the water if ypou want. The ship is much like a 5 star hotel and if you do not spend time up on the deck you will not see the ocean.

For me sitting on deck and looking out over the vast ocrean with nothing in sight is very relaxing. I understand the fear as I do not like heights at all!!!!

Just don't look at pictures or watch any movies about the open seas in the next 15 months. LOL

Ahoy Mates,

Wecome all new disboard members!!! It's been about a week since I've been on the boards.

My sister and I just took a mini vacation to Kings Island, an amusment park about 4 hours from Chardon and the Cincinnati Zoo. It was nice but doesn't even come CLOSE to a Disney Cruise.:rotfl:

Welcome! It seems there are a lot of people from Ohio on this cruise! We have an oceanview cabin...we usually book our cabin on the 2nd deck (no matter which cruise line). It always seems to be quiet, calm, and conveniently located. Of course, since I haven't been on the new ships yet, I can't say for sure! Also, I added you to our FB page :)

I also sent a FB request but still waiting username (Bob Dubois)

Went ahead and added you!

Hope you had a great time. How were the fireworksI've heard they are fabulous on the 4th.?

Oh we had a fantastic time! Really liked Hilton Bonnet Creek and we got such a fantastic rate on the room it made it even better! ;)

They did Fireworks right at the hotel, viewable from both Hilton and Waldorf but they didn't do them on the 4th, only the 2nd. We got to see them though, and they weren't bad. (Never met a firework I didn't like !) LOL! For the 4th we tried to get to Celebration but got tied up a bit at DTD so we were late. We pulled into a parking lot at the Disney Institute and watched from there with about 100 other folks. Best part was if we looked to the left we could also see the Downtown show so we got 2 for the price of 1! And no traffic jam getting out!

A hearty :welcome: to all of our new sailing mates! So happy to have you joining us on this awesome cruise!

I'm sorry my visits have been sporadic as of late..now that the dance hoopla has died down and I think we FINALLY have our computer situation stable you will be seeing more of me! :cool1: I just got my new laptop setup, all my programs installed and data moved over, took a full week! Aargh!

Happy Monday everyone! We are one week closer!

:) Jen

Yes I know. We have to drive to Burlington Vermont (1.5 hours away) to leave from there on our upcoming WDW trip. To leave from Montreal it was 500$ and up more.

For the cruise, my youngest will be a paying passenger! Hopefully we can get a good deal...I hope.

Awesome! Thanks for reading it! I'm glad you are enjoying it! That was such a great cruise! :goodvibes

Hi everyone,

My husband & I are thinking of booking our family's first cruise. I keep reading about the price climbing from when the cruises are first released to before sail date. Since this one is still 14 months away, and doesn't seem too bad - I'm curious as to what the price was back when it was first released.

I tried looking through the sticky for a booking history, but didn't see anything.

Family of 4 (2 adults, 13 year old, 8 year old - time of cruise) looking at cat 6B, 6A, 5E or 5D - hopefully one of those will still have a plex-glass verrandah available.

If any similiar families have booked in those cats - would you mind telling me what you paid? Thanks! :goodvibes
