Hey all! Sorry I have been MIA. I had to go on a business trip to CO and CA for a week. Anyway, I went through all the checks and paypal payments and will be ordering the pins on Monday. My POC said they will take 7-10 days to get here. I grossly mis-judged how much paypal was taking out, and we have paid for 220 pins, but can only order them in incriments of 100, so I have to order 300. So a bit of the cost will be coming out of pocket (about $100 with shipping) No biggie. My question is, would anyone be mad if I charged $3.00 for them on the ship (for those who didn't pre-order) to get a bit of the $$ back for the pins and shipping? I don't think this is unfair, but please let me know if you do. I will be cashing all the checks on Monday as well- so sorry if I screwed your bank statement up with all the waiting. Thanks for paying so promtly, and I will let you all know when they come in! I will separate them into zip-lock bags with labels and can someone set up a time so I can pass them out?? I can bring them to the send off and the pajama breakfast and hope I get most of you. I can't wait!!

I wonder if it's OK...
... but I paid via paypal and added extra above the requested amount to offset paypal fees - and if it is OK I'll pick up at the boat. That PU was my understanding... plus if any remain unsold at the ship (after others have had a chance to buy if they did not order in advance) then I would be happy to get extras at $3.
Also, I see absolutely no reason for a DIS volunteer to have undue compication or loss of any financial size - as such I would be happy to kick in a little more $. However, in my case I ordered 4 and wold like to keep 4. Maybe everyone who has already bought pins can kick in another $0.25 per pin ... at 220 pins this is still only $55. And if the 80 extra were sold at a $0.75 excess this amounts to $60. Now... I know this amounts to $115.... but I assume less than 100% will get around to kicking in the token $0.25.... and not all of the extra pins will sell. But - as an up-front interpretation --- this seems fair with a "weighted" corrective measure that comes close to resolving this 101+%.
Anyone against the extra $0.25 per prepaid pin and $3 for any purchased after the pre-order period?
ACTUALLY.... what we have here is really 1) uncompensated paypal fees; 2) an excess of 80 unsold pins. The right way to address this is to recognize that Paypal charges $0.30 + 3%. So on a $10 purchase of 4 pins or about $10... the paypal fees would have been $0.70 or 7% by my estimate. Paypal on ONE pin would have been $0.30 + $0.09 or about 13%. I actually have forgotten how much they were... $2.25 or $2.50? That is why the % estimates are divergent and inconsistent.
SO... if this is the case.... we could actually work out a table of EXACTLY how much extra shold have been paid by various parties. And respectful cooporation in paying the Paypal fees to AirforceMom wold be appreciated. NOW... this only addresses the paypal fees. What of the extra 80 pins that were ordered so that EVERYONE could get what they ordered? Rather than reverse the order which I THINK might have already been sent (time being short - I would have assumed it was sent already). So what do we do about this aspect of the accomidation AFM made to ensure no one was disappointed?
Well... I would vote in favor of having the left over pins sell at $3 each allowing for an extra $0.50 or ).75 per pin. At this rate if the pins actually cost about $2.50 then the 80 would have cost $200(???). And if so, then we need to sell 67 at $3 to cover the actual cost of 80. And if the pins cost 2.25 then the 80 would have cost $180 and we need to sell 60 at $3 to recover the cost. The left over pins would amount to only 13 or 20 "free" spares. So - IMHO we are not seeing any sort of avariciousness conduct here.
Shoot... at this rate we should sell the left over pins at $4 and the excess free ones should go into a "pool" of prizes or activites to be selected at AFMs' disgression. Or eBay with financial profits going towards a bunch of lottery tickets. And if AFM hits it - then half of it goes to her for the complication she endured... then the remaining half goes to an even split among all those who ordered pins... porportionally. I volunteer to do the math!!!

Anyone wanna "2nd" my self noination?
Plus - we can probably Ebay the extras in penny clusters and probably turn a profit. They could be considered LE300 super scarce - never before seen - and probably never again made custom
DCL pins! I imagine SOMEONE would bid for a few of these rare and priceless gems!
