I agree. We need to figure out how many people are really going and are interested in lanyards, pins, FE etc. This thread has been pretty slow so far...

Being our first DCL cruise, I feel like I am still in the learning phase of all this, but eager to learn! :)

Since this is your first cruise, you might want to look at the 2010 WBTA cruise thread page one and two to see what kinds of plans were made and what kinds of things we could potentially organize.
WBTA 2010 thread

Quite a few people shipped boxes to port last time. I know Su_Kraft has all the details. I can PM her for the address and details if you like. :)

That would be so helpful, thank you. :flower3:

Lanyard & pins sound fabulous! ::yes::

I hope when we start a new thread we don't lose some of the one's that have posted on here early on. I don't mind sending a PM to them all with the new link once it's set up by Karentan.

Tho' right now, I am so wishing I HADN'T booked the maiden Dream cruise. No Palo & no Remy reservations for love nor money - my DD Sophie is going to be SO disappointed... :(

I know what you mean Kaz, Lee had a bit of a hissy fit when I told him we couldn't do Palo. :guilty: I am sure we will still enjoy all the new restaurants though. :)

Can you book multiple Palo reservations on longer cruises? Is there a limit? What was the situation with the last WBTA?

We are definitely coming as we have the flights booked! :)

We are going on the Dream in March and plan on the Fantasy in April 2012. Is there a freeze on Palo and Remi reservations or something?

Regs,

CJM

:welcome: aboard!

Noel is right, all the Palo/Remy slots were booked on the first day by the Platinum & Gold members so by the time it got to Silver & first timers there were no slots left....lots of unhappy cruisers! :headache:

It will be so nice to be in from the start this time... :goodvibes

Oh yes!!!:thumbsup2

I think it was always the intention to contact everyone, but it would be good if you would do that!!!:cool1: We have already found out at least 2 groups that are no longer cruising. Mind you, folk would soon find the new thread!!

You can't book multiple Palo reservations unfortunately. They do still book up, apart from dinner. But there have been reports of people getting extra reservations for whatever reason. I think concierge might be able to wangle extras a bit easier onboard, or if you know influential people of course;).

I'm really going, I'm really going, Can you tell I'm excited? :cool1::rotfl2:

That would be so helpful, thank you. :flower3:

No problem, I have sent her an e-mail and will PM you with the details when I get them.
Also, about Palo, I was a lowly first time cruiser and was able to book 1 Palo dinner, but ended up going more. When we went directly to Palo to see if they had anything available we were able to get some brunches as well. ;)

from what i've heard they hold some reservations back for when people board, they can go and book it once they've boarded.

can anyone post a photo of the pin and lanyard you did last year? i'm intrigued!

We really wanted to wait until 2012 to do the Fantasy as DH thinks it will be fun to do a maiden voyage. The timing is much better for us as it is spring break 2012.

Sorry you could not get any Palo or Remy bookings. I am sure it will be the same on the Fantasy though the bookings are much slower according to the the DCL agent I spoke with. I transferred our ressie from the LA to Vancouver trip with the on board credit for this trio.

How about the maiden in April on the Fantasy instead? We could celebrate your birthday early!!
I kinda wish we could transfer the Dream reservation to the Inaugural Fantasy but never mind - I'm sure there'll be more than enough to explore... ;)

I know what you mean Kaz, Lee had a bit of a hissy fit when I told him we couldn't do Palo. :guilty: I am sure we will still enjoy all the new restaurants though. :)
That's what I said to Sophie...

I'm sure you can once onboard. We've been offered an extra Palo dinner slot on a 7 night cruise before now so I'm thinking you might be able to get a couple of additional reservations if you speak to the right people... ;)

Well, I'm a Gold member and I got nothing too - and I know at least one Platinum member who couldn't make a ressie for either... :sad2:

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz! It is waking up now though.:lmao:

Good to know!!! :thumbsup2

That's what I thought too BUT I received this message from a fellow cruiser on Facebook last week...

I just got off a one hour call with DCL. Anyone interested in booking a reservation at either Palo or Remy's it is too late. According to a Guest Service Representative, both restaurants sold out over 30 days ago. So if you are not a Platinum Castaway Cay member, you are out of luck.
I was told that this is an unusual situation because it is a Maiden Voyage. I asked if they could possibly offer additional meal times such as a lunch or breakfast that would be more upscale to accommodate more guests. I was told NO!

Now I don't know how accurate this is but I've decided just to roll with it and not plan for Remy or Palo - then anything else is a bonus...

However, NO such problems on the Magical WBTA!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1:

Are we going to have a name for our thread? If so we should come up with some ideas. I would suggest not having a 'reunion' type name as I always find that very offputting as there are more than just those who have cruised together before.

I can actually find this thread quite easily, even without the check mark as it has the stars which makes it stand out.

Oh, I am so excited to get moving and planning!!

a name sounds good, havent got a clue what to suggest though! it does seem that a lot of the repo's always take the captain jack route, but coming from someone who's not a fan of POTC, something more original could be cool!

Oh well, I'll have to hope we can just make more when we are onboard. I need to make up for hubby missing out on the Dream MV. ;)

That's good to know. Did they do High Tea aswell as the usual Brunch & Dinner on the WBTA?

from what i've heard they hold some reservations back for when people board, they can go and book it once they've boarded.

They do that for most cruises but it is apparently not the case for the Dream MV. :confused3

I'm sure you can once onboard. We've been offered an extra Palo dinner slot on a 7 night cruise before now so I'm thinking you might be able to get a couple of additional reservations if you speak to the right people... ;)

Let's hope we can wangle a few tables for 3. ;)

Well, I'm a Gold member and I got nothing too - and I know at least one Platinum member who couldn't make a ressie for either... :sad2:

I know hun. :guilty: I didn't mean it like that, there are quite a few Platinum's on our MV thread that haven't been able to book. :sad2: Maybe DCL should have given people a choice....either Remy's, Palo dinner or Palo brunch. Then more people would have got a ressie, rather than a select few getting one of each. Anyway sorry to go off track. :flower3:

No idea on names here, I am useless at coming up with them. :confused3

Well the first WBTA was led by Todd who turned himself into a remarkable Capt Jack Sparrow lookalike. Truly amazing and better than the onboard Jack. They seemed to have a great group who gelled and did so many activities, and when many rebooked for this year's TA, they took the same theme as Todd was leading it too. So, just coincidence really. I wasn't on the first one. When the thread for this year's cruise started it did seem to be a bit of a 'reunion' type thread, but over time that settled. In fact a boozy themed name might have been more appropriate!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Claire, sorry if I made you feel you might be stepping on people's toes. Just sounded that way I guess. I didn't mean that, and I am sure everyone would be pleased to leave the PM'ing to you!!!

Yes, there was High Tea, and I did enjoy it. John however, doesn't, but does it for me.

I'm useless at coming up with names too. I think of them and then realise they are daft!!!:lmao:

Not at all Marilyn, I didn't take it like that.

I really like the sound of High Tea, you never know if the men folk don't fancy it then perhaps we could arrange a ladies only one. ;)

I've been trying to think of names but so far the only thing I came up with is "To the Atlantic & beyond" as in Buzz Lightyear "To infinity & beyond" but it's a bit rubbish. :lmao:

the boozers take the high seas?!!:rotfl2::rotfl:
(didnt wanna joke round with the work alkies!)

I think I used "From Spain to the Space Coast ~ Taking the Magic Home" on one of my door magnets... Actually it might've been "From Spain to Space Mountain" - I can't remember... :teeth:

I think a ladies High Tea has been arranged on our Jan PC cruise. I will ask how they did this. I know previously it has just been done by people trying to book their own reservations on the same date, but if it can be done properly through DCL it would be better.

I like the Buzz idea.

Good, but as I don't drink not too sure about being a boozer!!!;)

Sounding good there.

We have some good ideas to be playing around with.

Welcome to this thread. Well done on booking your flights.

I hope you can go!! John and I would love to see you again. Looks like he will be able to take the time off for next year. Shall we make pins again??

LMAO-1.gif

I am pleased that you have a definite yes from coming on the cruise.
