I’ve decided to go to Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party on September 9. I tried to book my resort at the Polynesian and the only thing coming up is for $1117. I only need a basic room. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be a busy weekend or something?

I think that once party dates are announced, the near-park resorts begin to fill up. Have you considered renting DVC points? Poly is probably booked up there too, but VGF just opened online reservations for the new resort studios and word has it that availability plentiful.

The Polynesian has been practically sold out since it reopened, between the Moana refurb and it's popularity, it's a hard one to get.

Also, single night availability has been limited lately. You can sometimes find rooms for longer stays. But I have been looking at that week for months now. Poly hasn’t shown up in a long time.

Unfortunately, I don’t know too much about how to rent points. I’ll have to do a quick Google search

I just got an DVC rental for Mar 2023 using Dis's company. Surprised how fast they were!

Thank you, I just requested a quote for the grand Floridian which might be a good alternative to the Polynesian. I’m looking for convenience and relaxation on this upcoming trip. There are times I just don’t feel like dealing with the bus system.

There have been several threads where people were shocked the Polynesian was tightly booked for this fall (September 2022-ish). They actually go back to last year! I booked a Sept 2022 trip last November and even then I had to adjust dates to get what I wanted. When the Disney+ discount for deluxe rooms came out a bit ago, Poly was not included and I have to assume that's because they are having no trouble filling it at rack rate.
