Well - as many people here this is my first "pre-trip" report, which I hope to be followed by "My First Trip Report".

Some ground rules - I can't spell... sometimes I make an effort sometimes I don't. Make believe I hit the wrong key:lmao:. Yes I know I can type it in word but really why bother - we're all supposed to be having fun here - right?

Also I love commas, I mean really, really, really, love commas. I can make a sentence last a very long time with commas... (oh and ... - just like in Mama Mia - you know dot, dot, dot - see commas and dots:thumbsup2.

Anyway... we are going down for my twins birthday - actually we're going because we want to and it happens to be during their birthday so I'm calling it their birthday trip. This way everyone's happy (except the guy - we'll get to that).

We're staying at the Bay Lake Tower - yes the other half and I went out on a limb and bought into DVC after taking something like 9 trips to Disney in 7 years (and ALWAYS off-site:sad2:) REALLY - look at my signature!! I have 4 kids 7 and under and I'm staying off-site - what am I crazy?? (we'll get to that too;) ).

We (I) am so excited we're (I) am planning something everyday, the rest of the family tolerates me. Even my DD#1 who is usually all excited about everything and very emotional is like "Disnay planning again Momma?" Like there's something wrong with that!!:confused3.

So we're going 9/26 to 10/3 and staying at the BLT Bay Lake View (next I'm going for that MK view... I swear I am... watch me... I don't care how many points - yes I know its silly... but mark my words I will have the MK view - after all who makes the ressies?) and we gave our developer points to friends who are bringing their DD (8) and they are staying at SSR. Now, this is not entirely aulturistic (altruistic?) you know - not really because I'm like the nicest person in the world. I did the math... its like this 2 parents + 4 kids is not a good ratio - I read the trip report about the woman who took 5 kids alone - she deserves a metal (or to be committed). Well now if you add 2 more adults and only 1 more kid that equals 4 adults and 5 kids... ohh I like that ratio. I might even get to pee alone with that ratio:worship: or even may I dream - a nap?
And now they're happy and we're happy and see everyone will be happy until ... my 3 year old has her first really good fit. Well let's not think about that - happy thoughts everyone.

Okay - here's the cast and now you will understand the title.
Me: Terri 46
DW: Cathy 42
DD: Calla 7
DS: Ben 7
DD: Joy 3
DD: Alia 18 months

Yep - we're a gay couple - very consertative - but gay. Now the people going with us... I won't use their real names because I didn't ask them and I'm not sure one of them is out but... yep another gay couple.
H: 50
T: 45 or something (watch her be like 40 and if she reads this like going to kill me!!)
L: 8 (girl)

Yep - All girls and Ben. Now he wasn't happy when it was just the four of us and then Joy came along (DD#2)... we were hoping that #4 would be a DS... you know give him someone to tell "passing gas" jokes to but no... another DD. Now he really likes DD#3. Has a bond with her that I see (makes me tear up sometimes) but still she's not a boy. So here he is - and now we invite another 3 girls. He gives me that boy look (all you Moms with boys know this look... like - how the heck could you do this to me?) Like I planned it all along... the him being the only boy in our family thing and now this!!

Now don't feel too bad - he has a gecco or a lizard or something that I buy these ulgy little worms for and little baby crickets that we have to feed it - that freak out DD#1 (but DD#2 likes :confused3) and he gets to watch just about anything he wants on TV and he gets lots of DS games (he has these really big blue eyes that work on me just about every time). And I also believe there's going to be DisneyQuest in his future - that will all be in the planning.... and something tells me that when his sisters are teenagers and they all come over to hang out in the pool/spa that he won't mind so much... but I'm not going to go there with him - ever!! :rolleyes1

Next installment (one "l" or two? heck I don't know) How could we have not gotten ADRs???:confused3 we called at 6:45am, exactly 90 days out, we did everything we were supposed to!!! What do we do for dining?!? Oh I know... (dot, dot, dot)

You're off to a great PTR start! I'm subscribed! :thumbsup2

Weird - I just left a post for you (recognize your dog)... I will subscribe to yours (if I can figure it out!)... we're going at the same time - but different itinerary ... really I swear everyone's going to go then!!!

:lmao: I am loving your PTR. I swear you are two brave women to take 4 kids, under 8, to Disney :scared1:. Ya'll have my admiration :upsidedow.

I might even get to pee alone with that ratio:worship: or even may I dream - a nap?
Don't you know it is a law, in some book somewhere, can't remember the blah, blah law, but Moms are NOT allowed to go pee alone :lmao::rotfl2:. That goes against all kind of rules and regulations in the kiddy law book. The law states "even if the child goes dribble dribble after crying "I gotta go, NO I really gotta go" Moms have to take at least one child to the bathroom with them so they can fight with said child to leave the lock alone, don't touch the toilet, don't sit on that seat, keep your hands off the walls, that is enough soap, rub your hands together, don't turn the water off without a paper towel....etc, etc, etc.

I can't wait for your next update :surfweb:.

Okay - so here's the deal with the ADRs. My friend "T" is my partner in crime here when it comes to over (not) planning. So we talk, and talk and decide that she will take care of the ADRs and they did the Dining Plan a few years back and loved it. Us, well we have never done the DDP. We with twins, who someone spoiled to the point that they are not very patient when at TS meals so for the past 9 visits we do counter walk up service. Yes we have done the occasional Character meal (1-2 per trip) but mostly we have done walk up. SO this time we're going to do the DDP. I decided that my 4 will be okay while at the TS meals. I think that on the way down to WDW my children will somehow be transformed into these patient, loving, understanding children that understand the cost of the DDP and will want to get the most out of it like me.:rotfl2:. Somewhere in the back of my mind I know I've gone mad... just mad... but T wants to do the DDP and I hate to dissapoint so off to our ADR planning we go.

So me Mom #1 and T Mom #1 from family #2 get together on 120 days out. We make an excel spreadsheet. Oh it has colors based on event (TS in orange, park time in yellow, "free time" in green. Now I know what some of you are saying "Free time at WDW" well what the heck is that?
Free time is what some people do when they are not going comando like me. Yes I am a comando WDW person. I am the ones with the kids on my shoulder practically running with the stroller to get through security as quickly as possible to stack up behind all the other comando people 30-45 minute prior to open. I'm the one running to Dumbo saying "hurry we need to hit this and then Buzz and Pooh Pots before the crowds wander up Main street. Well, apparently:confused: this stresses some people out. who knew? really? Well apparently is stresses everyone in my family out... really?? why is this just news to me now:scared1: You mean me screaming "come on come on move it people! No stopping and looking around - what is this a vacation? What do you think you're on the beach? Move it!
Now I love my family and they love me and I believe they got together and spoke without me in the room because DW, DS and DD have all approached me separtely (they usually get me when I'm giving them cuddles at night - you know cuddles - after the book before the ?no stay in bed and this is the last time I'm going to tell you" This is the time when you're kids tell you some of the things they've been holding in... this is the time when its usually the first time I've closed my eyes since 5 am when #3 or #4 got up. It is during this time they they've planned their attack. Here's how it went with Calla DD#1.
"Momma"
"Yes"
"I love you"
"I love you too honey"
"I can't wait for Disney" (this makes me smile)
"Me either honey"
"Momma"
"Yes"
"I hear the pools at the hotels are really cool"
"Yes they are honey I hear the BLT has a glass slide or something and POR has a dragon"
"I can't wait to spend some days at the pool" - Now at this I don't move - I mean I don't want to alarm her. Remember my job here as a Mom is getting her to sleep and making her feel secure but my eyes are open and now my heart starts to beat harder. A day at the pool or even days!? I say it to myself like it's a different language and I'm not quite understanding the concept... a day at the pool?:confused: You mean no getting up and forcing the kids into cloths and saying "eat a breakfast bar we'll get juice in the park" You mean no backpack with sunscreen, hats, Visa Rewards Card, no rushing to the monorail.
I snap myself back to reality and say "yes honey its going to be great" kind of like when you tell them its going to be great when you live together forever knowing that when she hits 13 or 14 she's going to think I'm a twit and can't think of living with me forever.

I blow this off that maybe she's had a tiring day - lots of camp and Cheer practice. Too many walk overs or something:laughing:.

A few days later I'm putting DS to bed. After talking about the pros and cons of using the DS cheat while playing Zelda. It goes like this...
"Mom"
"Yes Ben"
"I can't wait for Disney" (Be still me heart they're all with me - they all can't wait... oh I can't wait either I think to myself... but my job here is to calm him down and get him to have a good nights sleep - I know my job).
"Me either buddy"
"I can't wait to spend a few days at the pool and how many quarters can I have for the arcade" - AGAIN a few days... you mean just at the pool?
"Well honey I don't know how much time we're going to have for the arcade" (I'm thinking there's an arcade? At the CR? How did he know this? I don't know this? I think I'm going straight to the computer after this and looking this up... how can he know something I don't... is it boy intuicion?)
"Well Mom we're going to have time because we're spending a few days at the pool"
I freeze... someone's been getting to them... my mind races... who can it be? Ah my other half... she's up to this I know it!

So after I get them to bed and DW gets DD#3 to bed I make my move.
"Honey want to see my spreadsheet?"
"What spreadsheet?" Now I've talked to her about the spreadsheet many times - I even printed one out for her to see the planning to date.
"The Disney spreadsheet"
So we look at it and she says - it looks like we're going into the parks 6 days.
Yes - that's my plan (I'm smiling inside now - ah she realizes her plan is not going to work.)
"I thought we talked when we bought the DVC and we agreed that Disney was going to be more of a vacation and less of a track meet"
I freeze... OMG I remember this conversation... I'm almost speachless...
"right" I say - I mean that's all I said "right"

Wow - I'm going to have to absorb this... I'm going to need a minute...

Apparently I needed a few days (yes it took me that time to digest this)... we did talk about this as a family back in Feb when we bought in Feb... even the kids were like oh cool we can spend some time at the pool?? :):) I now remember this... I can picture it - yes kids we can go back every year and we'll be right there (we've always stayed off site) so we can spend more time just hangin out as a family and just enjoying each other ...

OMG:scared1::scared1: caught in my own words.

So - now I have to re-think... no 7 day Hopper... no RD each day? Over the next few weeks I went through the stages Denial, Anger, blah blah and now I'm at Acceptance. I'm going to have to balance RDs, rest, playing in the pool and ADRs... we're going to rest... we're going to have fun... okay - I'm good - I'm with it - (ha ha I got a 5 day ticket and a MNSSHP ticket (okay maybe I'm not all there;)) oh and a Wishes Cruise

Back to the planning T and I are going to call 90 days out... me, I'm in charge of WDW PLAY and her WDW DINE. I set my alarm exactly 90 days out. I'm up and calling at 6:45am... I'm on hold and after 30 minutes I hang up and have my Wishes Cruise for 9/30. I am SO excited:cheer2::cheer2: I've never done a cruise before. Then I log onto the online ADR and get HDD tickets for our first night there, Cat 1 seating, I pay with my credit card thinking I can change these to my DDP later. Now I know what you're thinking didn't her friend have the responsibility of ADRs - yes, yes she did... I couldn't help myself... that's all it was - low will power.

So later that day T and I get together to review. She couldn't get HDD Review (now I am VERY happy that I did the on-line one) but past that we didn't get much that we wanted. No CP, no 1900, no Si-Fi, no Chef Mickey, ouch. But a bunch of TS I didn't really know about... The Wave (wait that means we'll have to leave the park early (2 pm) to get there by 4:30 we're al DHS that day and that day we also have a Character meal at 11:30. The Yak and Yeti the day we're at AK (the kids are never going to eat anything there) Tony's at 3:30 for dinner... 3:30 - that's not dinner time - the baby's going to be all thrown off. Meraksh (I know spelling spelling) the day we're at Epcot... the kids may not eat but they're going to love the show. So I'm okay - not happy - not sad just kind of okay and then I think - wait I have to pay for the DDP - all on this trip have to... Then I call and find out that you can't get Cat 1 seating at the Hoop Dee Do on the DDP. That's when I made the decision - I wasn't happy - I really wanted to try the DDP I mean we're on site - we have to eat - the DDP seemed easy and the other family we're going with had done it before and loved it - but I just can't. We thought about the 2CS and 2Snack DDP but then we are going to keep some of the ADRs we got. So I did it - pulled the plug - no DDP. We'll do what we've done the past 8 years. Pay as you go...

Sometimes - you just have to let go.... I'm okay with it now - actually relieved. We kept HDD, Hollowood and Vine, Meraksh, and Liberty Tree and me and DW are going to Cat Cora's place the day we have dinner alone without the kids... more about that later...

Love the update. I have got to put some pool time in my plans too. We didn't get to go to the pool in May because it rained the whole time we were there and in July there were just too many people in the pool. My DS has been begging to get in the pool. I think I may make a pool day out of our first day, it is our drive down day and we don't have an ADR until 7 pm that night. We will leave at 4 am and it takes us about 8 hours and with losing the hour going to Eastern time we should be at the resort by 1:00 or 1:30. Plenty of pool time :thumbsup2.

Mine started bugging me the last time we went down and we actually spent a day in the pool - it was before Alia was born and I have to say it was the most carefree day we had - lots of fun.

We will leave at 4 am and it takes us about 8 hours and with losing the hour going to Eastern time we should be at the resort by 1:00 or 1:30. Plenty of pool time :thumbsup2.

Driving 8 hours! Oh my aren't you brave... I would say that deserves some good old pool time... and a fancy drink at the pool;)

Now where did I leave off... oh yeah - no DDP. I am kind of bummed about it but with the free DDP that everyone is getting I've just a bit worried that its going to be a bit crazy.:scared1: at the TS places and us with a party of 9 its just hard enough for me to get my 4 to stay seated during an entire meal without someone trying to take off as soon as they're done - I think this time it was just going to be too much... and like I said we still have some TS services and 2 Character Meals (Lia will like that:angel:).

So the next item to tackle was the BBB... yep we're going to do it this year but with 3 girls that was going to get to be a bit pricey (:scared1:). So we figure we'll just take Alia for her first haircut at MK - I saw this on another post... I forget which one but I just thought it would be the best idea... yes she'll be about 20 months but my kids tend to have about 30-40 strands of hair until they're about 6 and even then there's not a lot to go around. Poor things want to look like Hanna Montana and they look more like one of those hairless dogs... okay its not that bad but they really don't have much. The one with the best hair (and the only one with the blue eyes) of course is the boy pirate:. So unfair!
So we plan on the BBB one of the days we're supposed to be pool hopping and doing MNSSHP at night but the only time they have open in noon:sad2:. Now my 3 year old is so going to need a nap that day to do the party at night... heck I'm going to need a nap to do the party that night and if we do BBB at noon she's going to be all hyped up and not be able to nap. I know this but for now am ignoring the fact until I can get better reservations.;) Then we added up the cost... then we broke the news to them that they were only going to get the hair part and we'd bring cloths from home. DD#1 was not very happy about this and DD#2 followed suite because if there's a good fit to be had she wants in. So almost every day I call and see if they have BB for one of the days we're in MK but not doing the MNSSHP... we'll see - send some dust my way:tinker:

Turing in for tonight... next up... the dreaded matching shirts and how at the age of 46 I found out I could make my own:)

My oldest DS, Tyler, got a hair cut at the MK barber shop in May. They will do sparkles in the hair or stencils. Since he is 20 he thought he was too cool to do sparkles or stencils . Are you EVER too old for Disney sparkles in your hair :confused3?

Oh its all becomming a reality... yeah me!:thumbsup2

Anyway - on with the show. I'm a little delayed in keeping up with this pre-trip report as I'm waiting for my company to be acquired (I'm Wyeth - being taken over my Pfizer) and its a bit distracting! I hear that we're going to be taken over on the 15th of Sept and I leave on the 26th. I was actually hoping that the deal would close while I was at WDW. This way I really wouldn't care:rotfl:... but now I may have to live through a few weeks before I get to escape. I just hope I don't hear that I'm laid off before we go... that may put a real wet rag on things.

Anyway - so now I'm behind on my T-shirt planning. Once I heard that you could go to the Creative DISigns and have some of the most wonderful people in the world customize pictures to transfer onto T-Shirts I was so HOOKED! I can't tell you how much time I spend just looking at the designs. II have my friend hooked too! Of course the kids are all like - yeah Mom - they're cute and all (except - yep you guessed it the boy). He's now up to $5 for each day I make him wear a matching shirt because I think I'm going to plan for 3 days.

Day 1 in the parks - doing MK for the twins B-Day. Fastpasses all around:love::love: Really I think I'm in heaven!! That day I'm doing white shirts. For DD and DS I have Mickey ears with 2009 in an ear, "My Birthday Trip" in the head and Hanna Montana next to DD ears and Phineas and Ferb next to DS ears. For DD #2 I'm going to make an Ariel shirt and for DD#3 a My First Trip - rainbow ears (it is SO cute). For DW Mickey ears with the UNC logo (BIG Heels fan) and for me... I know the eat, breath, DIS shirt - very cute.

For Tues (AK) we're in Green shirts with all of us different twists on the same theme. For the 4 adults "Will Trade Kids for Fastpasses" for my DS "Will trade Sisters for FP" and for the 3 DD "Will trade parents for FP"... very cute standing in line together - don't you think?

For Friday (Epcot) we're in Red... We'll have the MNSSHP with 2009 in the header - I'll have to post the one we picked - must have gone through 1,000 of them. All of us will have the same except for DS that will have the 3 HM ghosts with "Skipping School and Going to WDW" on it... Also very cute.

THEN - because I really can't seem to help myself and AC Moore have 4 shirts for 10 dollar sale I'm getting over sized white shirts with "Just Hangin with Friends in WDW" for the adults and silly ones for the kids. The older girls will have the Princesses making faces (I love that one) and the younger ones... hummmm... probably Oso (the unique stuffed bear) and for DS a Stitch in costum with "Judge me by my size do you?" He'll love it!

now all I have to do is find all of these. Figure out how to print them off. Get the rest of the matching shirts and then spend - oh I don't know - what like 2 days at the ironing board!:laundy:. And oh yeah I'm really good at ironing. Ironing... hummm. isn't that the metal thing that gets really hot? I know I have one of them hummm... I used it once to kill a spider once... I remember that... hummm where could that thing be:lmao: (Yes I amuse myself).

So the next few nights you can picture my blood filled eyes still going though the DISigns board - making sure I didn't miss anything...

More later.

Oh yes - I just read a post and now realize I should have had a Disney Binder all along :) Actually it's a really good idea and as I seem to be collecting more and more paper I'll be putting one together today during work:thumbsup2

OK - back again and now talking shirts - we're exactly one month out today (scream like a little girl) - that's how I feel. I got the Magical Express packet (remember this is our first time on property since we've had the kids and they're 8 (and we've gone like 9-10 times - I've even lost count)... so yes I am very excited and its our first time as DVC members!

So back to the planning. I got together with my partner in planning (Hi Tammie:tinker: (she likes Tink) and now she's on the boards (addicting isn't it?)... anyway we got together and this T-shirt thing of mine went from 1 matching T-shirt for one day to a T-shirt for almost every day:scared1:. Now this makes me very happy because I'm a geek and love this stuff and Tammie's right there with me... but our other halfs... well let's just say they're these kind of people (image below on a breast pocket)
MNSSHP7.jpg
[/IMG]
And we're these kind of people (image on the entire front of our brigh orange shirt)
MNSSHP15.jpg
[/IMG]

We were trying to reach a happy medium and then I remembered something... hey I'm planning this trip ... loud shirts it is:thumbsup2. I mean we have 5 kids 8 and below with us - I go giving them a pocket shirt and I am not going to be the most popular Mom at WDW.

Now I know what you're thinking... a shirt for every day well that is kind of excessive... I ask you... have you visited the Creative DISigns part of this board yet? If you haven't don't be so quick to mock. These people are wonderful. First they make great designs. They should work for Disney they are so good... second here's the part that so got me... they personalize them for you... yes - 46 year old geek here I love them.

That's how we ended up with so many. Shadowryter was even able to do an Oso design for me - my DD#3 loves Oso (he is pretty cute)...

So first day is MK and its my twins birthday so we're doing Mickey heads - all different designs but all Mickey heads.
Day 2 AK - Bright green shirts with either a tie-dye Mickey head or a peace Mickey hear
Day 3 DHS - red shirts with stick figures of our families.... very cute - I'll try to post it later... it brings home the whole "Oh my goodness that poor boy with all those girls" - really - even made us laugh - I'll really try to post it.
Day 4 - Hanging at the pool but we're getting over sized white shirts with Simba, Pumba and Timone haning in a "hot tub" with "Haning with Friends at WDW 2009" on it (cute huh) and then for
Day 6 - Epcot we're Orange shirts with a MNSSHP design on it (that's what we're doing on Day 5 - I know you didn't think I had something planned but I did - ha! we're resting during the day and doing MNSSHP at night and everyone's dressing up -

More later - we're taking the twins to Hershey Park today for a final fun day before school starts (and without the 3 year old and 18 month old)... Giving the older kids a break (and us as well - 7 year olds are fun and can do fun rides like the claw!)
