Seriously though, just go....the chances of you actually getting picked are slim. Murphy's law states if you try to get out of it, you'll only get sucked deeper in...and be called to serve at a place you really don't want to serve. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be and if you do get picked someone needs you to be on that jury. Boy, I'm very inspirational tonight, aren't I.

AND, just so you know....the Schenectady Court House was no picnic to go to every day. Because it was a gang trial....the entire gang community came to court every single day, some "rooting" for this guy, some against. And they would fight outside every day. They'd sit on the courthouse steps and wait in the morning before court and then after. And there I was....all dressed up (because I still had to go to work during breaks) walking through the gang. Like I said, interesting experience.

That stinks that you had the back to work on breaks!

Nick"s cub scout pack had there Halloween Party tonight and the kids came all dressed up. Some had some really cool costumes.
Nick decided he wants to be a pirate this year so my Mom made his costume.
He is hoping he gets to wear it again on the next Member Cruise (I'm hoping he gets to wear it again too).
Here's a picture, he's in the middle.

Stacy,

Cute picture.

I can't imagine any of our Cub Scouts doing anything close to that. :guilty: We have such a group. I am so glad this is my last year as a leader, these boys are out of control and have so little respect. I'm SO glad they are not Cameron's closest friends because I would have a bigger problem. Last nights meeting was better, because all 3 of us leaders were there.

But 2 weeks ago, it was just me and 1 parent. OMG, the attitude I put up with from these 10/11 year old boys was so unbelieveable. One boy kept climbing on these stacked chairs, I continued to ask him to move to the table and sit, he continued to tell me no. My daycare children listen better than he did. When his mom picked up, I asked if she fed him Frosted Flakes for dinner because he was certainly wound up and a problem child.

Last week at our pack night, I found 2 of the boys in the hallway "getting a drink". One of the boys had wedged himself between the two walls by the drinking fountain and was kicking the ceiling tiles out from above his head with his feet. :earseek: This is the boy who Cameron has had such a run in over the years. The only reason I stumbled onto it was because Walker ran out to get a drink and low and behold, there the other boys were. I can't believe the way they acted. :earseek:

Anyway, I'm done in February. Cameron is still saying he does not want to go on to Boy Scouts. I'd kind of like him to give it a try. Walker has no interest at this point, so it looks like I will be able to remove my Cub Scout hat for a while. ;)

Cute picture, Stacy!! I can't believe boys that age will still consent to dressing up for Halloween. Too cute!!

Cindy - I'm so sorry that you have such disrespectful boys in your cub scouts. Sounds like they are OUT OF CONTROL!! Does't make it any fun for you or Cameron, I'm sure!

Well, we finally have everyone's pictures. We never got the CD from Lisa, so Chris called her and walked her through uploading her pictures to Chris's PC via FTP. So, he's going to be working on creating the CDs/DVD tonight and this weekend.

And finally, my baby is 18 months today!! I can't believe that she's already a year and a half. Seems like she was just born a few months ago.

Happy 1/2 birthday, princess: Madison (that's what we call them here). Here's a little cake to celebrate. :cake:

Great news about the pictures. I can't wait to see all of them. :cool1: :cool1:

Cool outfits. I think the best one is that kid dressed up like a cub scout leader!!!! That's really realistic!

Cindy - sorry to hear that the kids in the troop are so disrespectful to you. I'm sure it takes all the fun out of it.

Amy - great news on the pictures!

Happy 18 month birthday to Madison! :cake:

Jury duty...

a couple of summers ago, I got called. I got out of it. They told me it's totally random, but about 3 weeks later, I got called. I got out of it. Again, they said it's totally random, but two weeks later, I got called....so I made arrangements with my mom to take the kids for the week. I drove them to our drop off point 1/2 way between our homes on a Sunday afternoon. Said goodbye and headed back home. I got home and there was a message on my voice mail saying the case had been dropped and I was not needed!

It was a peaceful week off, but I hated using my mom for that week when there were *other* weeks I'd rather have had "off."

About a week later, my dh was called (again, totally random) :confused3 He got out of it b/c it would create a hardship on his patients.

I do think about the number of ppl that I know who get out of it and hope that I never have to go on trial b/c I'm afraid jury duty wouldn't be a jury of my "peers"....it would be a jury of "ppl who couldn't find a good reason to get out of it." :)

I've done Jury duty a number of times. The worst was back in the days of one week stints (back in the 70's). Never got picked until Friday afternoon (the end of the week) and then had to come back for another full week.

Most times it is 3/4 of a day and then dismissed. I was picked for one trial and it was all over in a day.

I got a notice about 2 months ago and it was one of those call in the night before and see if you are needed. Well I called and wasn't needed so I'm sure I'll get another notice soon.

I thought it was great too! :rotfl2:
(That is my co-leader, he's not very imaginative)
I have one just like it but I decided to dress up like something else (which is obvious when you look at the picture!)

Don't forget Friday night is cruise chat! If we get enough Member Cruisers we can always head to room #2 :)

Wow!

My boys can be a handfull sometimes but nothing like what you have gone thru.
They just start getting a little antsy by the end of the hour and need to be reminded we have to finish up. Luckily with only 3 boys (one being Nick) things are not to bad. Plus my parents are very involved thank goodness.

Ok I'm officially feeling old tonight. Last weekend was my 30th High School reunion. I didn't go but I did order the book and it came today. I'm amazed at how many of my classmates are deceased already! At least 30 of them. Now I come from a big class of 1200+ but still. :sad1:

Gary, now that your Chicago White Sox are 2005's World Series Champions, what are you going to do?

Well, next year I'm either going to Disney World over Spring Break, ::yes:: Hilton Head in July ::yes:: or the 2006 Member Cruise in October ::yes::

Oh heck, I'm going on all three !!!!
