I have to go out tomorrow night so I was going to stop by. I can give you a buzz when I have a rough estimate on the price.
We were thinking of doing a double mat and including one set of pins to be matted with the picture.

That's exactly what I want.....so get a price and if it's a good one, we can take advantage of the sale!

Everyone whose doing something special with the gifts/lithos/pins, when they are done, will you post a picture for those of us who are creatively challenged? I would love to see them. And, who know, maybe I'll commission someone to do one with our stuff. Gary is much more creative than I am and has that attention to detail trait that I will never have.

Keep in mind if you're bothered by putting the pins thru the blank paper part of the litho, you'll need to oversize the frame/mat enough to put the pins off the paper.

I'm going to an all day crop on October 22nd.....just wait until I get my cruise scrapbook done! :Pinkbounc

Amy and Chris--any chance of me getting that CD before then so I actually have pictures to put in my book?? :rotfl2:

When you guys get quotes to get the framing/matting done will someone PM me also? I think we'll end up at Michaels as I don't know many other stores here that do it, however, I'd like to have a price to estimate against.

Thanks!

I thought someone mentioned the other day (it was probably you Mark) that they were going to put the pins on, but have the mat cut out around the pin in each corner. Are we talking big bucks to have something like that done? I can picture it done that way, but would have a terrible time picking mat boards and a frame - anyone have any ideas???

I was wondering where Grandma Lightbulb got the large Mickey pirate and found it. It is one of the pages (on the left side) of the "ticket book" that came in our gift basket. Great job of cutting everything out!

Is that really the date? One year before the next member cruise? :cool1:

I'll be lucky to have anything done before the next member cruise.

Well, as soon as everyone gets their CDs to us, Chris can get started. I'll try to do my best to light a fire under Chris to keep him moving on this.

I Already had that in mind.
I was thinking like a slight shadow box thing and would like the pins either in the corners all lined up along the bottom and pushed into like foam or styrafoam (sp?)

I'm doing it ourselves, and the materials form Hobby Lobby were about $30 for the two sheets of matting and the do it yourself frame 21x27, and another $5 for a sheet of lexan from Menard's as HL didn't have framing kits that big.

I'm doing a DVC blue front mat, with a square cutout in each corner thru to the gold mat underneath for the pins, and the cutout for the litho will be staggered to show some of the gold as a border.

That's how I've been envisioning mine. As it sits here in the envelope, where it will be for the next 2 years while I wait to afford to get the sucker framed! I was going to go to Mike's this week, but the girls don't care for it very much and tend to destroy the store! :rotfl: I'll let Stacy get a quote for me!

You'll have to post a picture of that. It sounds pretty cool!

That is really the date.....I'm using it for inspiration. I hope to have the entire cruise/trip done in that one day! :faint:

I hope it comes out as good as my idea is. It's a good deal of effort for me to make good mats.

I didn't think about doing it myself. I'm crafty! I was telling Cindy earlier. My friends call me Martha (as in Stewart) because I can take a bunch of old sticks, some dead leaves and some acorns and turn it into a beautiful work of art. :rotfl2:

Once Stacy finds out from Michaels how many millions they are going to charge.....we may be able to have "craft night"! We'll hold off on the konk koolers though! :rotfl2:

Mary I looked at that one and the top of his crown is cut off - do I have the same one you are talking about???

I noticed she added a small Mickey to the crown - must have been some of that confetti from the last night show in the Atrium. I collected a few pieces of the Mickey confetti - well they actually fell out of my hair when I was getting ready for bed. :goodvibes

I'm mailing mine tomorrow or Wednesday.....as soon as I leave the house again!

I'm joking, you guys are so great for doing this to begin with! No need to light any fires.....just have ohiominnie send the birds over to your house!

I'm somewhat crafty too but I don't know about cutting my own mats. That might be beyond my expertise.
We would definatley need to lay off the Konk Kollers if we try to do it ourselves!!!

John can cut the mat boards to the shape and size I would want, maybe I should talk him into doing it for me. First I will get a price from Michael's to do it and then tell him how much less it would be to do our own. He did make me 4 - 16" x 16" picture frames for my family room and cut the mat board to frame around my material picture. I'm so glad he's able to do these things, cause I usually end up fighting with a simple glue gun when I try something. :rotfl:
