1. What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you? I went to Hawaii with my family in 1985. It was just before my senior year in h.s. In one shop there was this guy selling flip-flops, but there was no strap...they "glued" to the bottom of your feet so you didn't get tan lines or anything. The guy was talking all about them and there was a manequin holding a pair. At one point the guy holds a pair out and says "go ahead, squeeze it." So I reached back and squeezed the manequin's butt....making my siblings crack up. Welllllll.....10 minutes later, as we're shopping in that store, and the guy at the front is still hawking glue on flip-flops....I see the "manequin" step down off the box, and walk to the back of the store. YES, the color of my cheeks very closely resembled the color of this type!!! Oh, and btw, glue on flip flops collect a lot of sand on the beach.

I have to ask, was that manequin a man or a woman :rotfl: :rotfl:

Live manequins were really popular for a while. I remember standing with Gary in a display window debating about whether the manequin was real or not. Gary thought it was. I knew it wasn't. We stood there forever going back and forth debating. Walked away. Walked back to the window a while later to continue, and the manequin was gone. :teeth: :earseek:

Guess Gary was right.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't get an e-mail. Maybe I should make a call???

Yes! Give them a call just to verify you're on their list. Maybe they don't have your correct e-mail... (or... they typed it in wrong) that's what happened to me...

I look at the forums a few times a week and I'm just now seeing this thread for the Members Only Cruise. DH and I are going to be there with our DDs 9 and 4. This is everyones first cruise so we are pretty excited. Any suggestions on what the kids should definitely do? Can't do to many excursions due to my youngest but I still want to make it fun for them.

Thanks!

Can't help you much with activities for you DD's, but just wanted to say "Welcome to our group, Eeyores#1 Fan!"

Welcome! :cheer2: :cheer2:

This is also our first cruise. We have DS's 10 & 5. DS10 & DH are doing parasailing at Castaway Cay. All of us are planning on snorkeling.

It sounds like there are many things to do on Key West.

Mark & Mary, who are cruising with us, have a lot of good information on their site. Here's the link to that:

Glad you found us!

Woohooo!! Celebrating a TOP this morning.

:wave2: Hi!!!

On the way to pick up Sam from his Book of the Month (school club) meeting my driver's windshield wiper broke... not the best of times.
That happened to me once! I was driving to Manhattan to pick-up DH from work. It was pouring a reall"gully washer" (as someone once said).
It was an interesting ride!

Have you ever met a famous person?Skated w/the NY Rangers as a kid (Ron Dougay, Phil Espasito, Nicky Fotio) Some WWE/WWF wrestler (Brett & Owen Hart, Lex Luger, Atom Bomb, Capt. Lou, Virgil) David Wolper

How many times did you move as a child? 2x Once fron Yonkers NY to Ballston Lake NY and from there to Clifton Park NY

OOOOHH Ron Dugauy!!! I loved him--sooo cute! That is cool Skating w/ those guys.

DH is from Yonkers. MIL & FIL still live there.

Thanks! I think I'm going to let my DH and DD9 do snorkeling. I'm trying to find information on seeing the Mickey statue under water but so far haven't found anything. Don't think they'll let my 4 yr old do snorkeling though. Does seem like there's a lot to do though so I'm not stressing or anything.

Here in AL, most of the rainstorms we get are gully washers! DH and I were just talking the other day about how we missed northern rainstorms. I actually enjoyed driving in the rain back then. I could barely see out the windshield before the wiper broke. I ended up having to pull over and wait for the rain to slow down before I could continue on.

On the positive sign, this was just the thing I needed to make me arrange a carpool with another mom for the rest of the school year. I'm going to take all the boys to school, and they're going to p/u. Maybe I won't cry when I have to fill up my gas tank now. :rotfl2:

:cake: :bday:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.... TO ME!!!

Thank you EVERYONE for the birthday wishes!

There is a reason for everything!

It forced me to get new wipers.

Luckily a very cute man. Of course, I was in hs....he was probably mid-20's. Very embarrassing!

Last night I informed the family about Pirate Night. DD, and DS's said that they had nothing to wear.
Then I showed them some of the Pirate things I picked up. DS and DD were very excited to have their earrings and hooks and bandanas. pirate: pirate:

RE: Snorkeling at CC
Should I bring our own snorkel gear?
Do they let you use your own?
