The blinkies feel funny on my feet. I'm trying hard not to succumb to peer pressure. I did however, buy another pair of Crocs to wear.....lime green!! Crocs are plenty wide...you might want to look into getting a pair for the cruise!

I bought some plain white flip flops at Hobby Lobby and some trim that I sewed on with clear thread but my foot seems to go sideways in them so when I look down, my heel is off to the edge. When I look at other people they seem to stay right on top of the sole--I wonder if these were so cheap because the straps are on funny. But DH suggested--jokingly--that I put double sided sticky tape on my heel and so I tried it. The 3M pads work better than the DUCK TAPE brand. I just may do that for the cruise too.

I am having a hard time figuring out where to hunt for Crocs that is on my normal line of travel. Need to find the website and check again. Anyone remember the web address? When I try a search I get a bunch of other junk like Crocodile farms.

So that's what croc look like like. I feel like a light has been turned on!! I have never seen these before. What are they made of?--looks sort of rubber-ish. Very thick sturdy rubber. (that sounds like I opened a can of worms w/ that phrase!)

i'll be bringing my crocs.

I'm still waiting for them to become a favorite. :confused3 They make the tops of my feet sweat. I haven't worn them all that much and just bought them several weeks ago. But, I'm not giving up yet. :goodvibes

They are very light, no very thick heavy rubber on them. I was surprised by how light they actually are.

Just got this from a friend:

A Can of Worms

A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.

Four worms were placed into four separate jars.

The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.

The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.

The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.

The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.

At the conclusion of the sermon, the minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol - Dead.

The second worm in cigarette smoke - Dead.

Third worm in chocolate syrup - Dead.

Fourth worm in good clean soil - Alive.

So the minister asked the congregation: ''What can you learn from this demonstration?''

A little old woman in the back quickly raised her hand and said, "As long as you drink, smoke, and eat chocolate, you won't have worms!"

Don't you just love little old ladies?

Yes, that pretty much describes them. They are super light, like you don't even have shoes on your feet. They are also waterproof and they float in the water! I wear mine at the beach!

We use our OKW mugs for coffee every morning and DH uses a DIXIE LANDINGS mug for his ice water as it does not sweat all over the desk like a regular glass in the summer. The Fort Wilderness mugs are in the Motorhome for daily coffee on trips. The Disney MAGIC mugs are in the stuff to pack for this cruise. We plan to use them for our free pop and coffee at the beverage bar so we are not using a lot of disposable cups and thus are minimizing our contribution to the waste stream.

At KW we have snorkeled twice with the FURY CATAMARAN--that is the group that does Disney's SNORKEL AND SAIL excursion (or whatever they call it). I have called them to see if we can get a better price booking directly with them and they told me they give Disney a discount.

This time we are trying the SAIL, KAYAK and SNORKEL excursion.

I was thinking of bringing my DCL mugs too.

Does the material of the shoe make your feet sweat?

They don't make my feet sweat, but they make Cindy's sweat. So, it's on a case by case basis I guess. From what I read, the way the material is designed, they don't make your feet smell! :crazy2:

I though I might add my own little Zippity-Do-Da tip.

A few yrs ago we had a nice cruise on the Wonder. Upon departing and retreiving our luggage DH suitcase was not in the terminal. There was another"similar"looking suitcase left-not his. So we wetn on our way home, hoping whoever had his would realize it contact us or DCL.

We drove home to NY. Checked our messages and sure enought there was a message --from Newark airport!! The message said that we had "left our suitcase at the airport". We never even saw an airport that trip. Somehow DH suitcase was brought to the airport, checked in and sent to Newark. Good thing Newark is nearby- I am grateful it was not sent to California.

PS-This was post 911.

So- the tip is put something on your luggage that clearly marks it as yours.
I now have leopard design luggage for me!

Mine would sweat-I can't wear shoes if the temp is over 78! The crocs website shows a woman running!

No-smell-that's good.--

Sweat-maybe
Smell-NO!

Very, very cute!!!

Jan, I know that a few of our local Hallmark stores carry the cayman model of crocs in all colors. I love my crocs and I have the cayman and the nile. I have lived in the niles all summer and no smelly feet. :cool1:

You guys have been busy, while I've been cleaning & vacuuming (and you know how I hate vacuuming). I'm exhausted now. But, at least the house is clean for the next 5-10 minutes, before toys are everywhere again.

Hey Diana - How's the party planning going? I was just thinking that I need to get my act together for Emily's 4th birthday. It's not until Oct 5th, but with the cruise, I probably need to start getting things ready. She wants to have an Ariel party, and we did find the supplies, but in order to not exclude the boys, I'm going to call it an Under the Sea party with Ariel. Anyway, I know that it's going to come up quick after the cruise, so if I start some of the litttle things now, I'll hopefully be prepared.

I've managed to clean the entire house today too, except the family room, that's a lost cause. I'm going to try to vacuum around the kids and toys!

I'm doing good with the party, invitations sent, most supplies bought, menu planned. My in-laws are coming in from Ohio, so I should have some incredible unbelievable stories to share. These people are certifiably nuts. Thankfully, we only see them once or twice a year.

I've manage to convince a good friend of mine to book on the 11 day. So now her and her DH are going to start to work on Bruce. So there is hope! He keeps telling me he doesn't want to discuss another vacation until this one is over. Aw...cmon honey, I need something to look forward too!! But I've almost got him sold--the breakdown on cost per person per day was a good seller! :rotfl2: He says as long as the girls do ok on this cruise he'll "consider" it. That means, as long as they don't push each other overboard--we're going!

Yeah!!! If he hasn't made up his mind by this cruise, I'll just have Chris work on him. He's quite a good convincer!!!

We had this same thought, however we've decided they are not big enough for the cruise as we are big pop drinkers and it would mean Matt trotting up to the station on 9 quite a bit. Now I have to find larger mugs.

OK Kids here is a question,

Have been to Key West several times but only once before on a cruise, Western Inaugural, on that cruise we docked with the starboard side to the dock. Is this always the case in Key West for DCL or is there a chance we might dock port side to the dock?

Just thinking about sunset.

Good morning, all! I loved the fluffy question of the day - thanks for posting that! My list (yup, got a list) is: ziplocks in different sizes (you have no idea how many times this tip has come in handy), travel kleenex (because I'm a big boo-hoo-er), 2 swimsuits (one is always ready to go), rubber bands (like the ziplocks, you never know), People magazine to read on the plane (it's fluffy and you can throw it away when you're done without guilt!) Probably more to add when my caffeine kicks in.

Got the Lasik done in 2000 (blind as a bat) and had to have an eye "enhanced" in 2001. Enhanced means lifting up the corneal flap and zapping the puppy again. I just wanted to see the clock in the middle of the night, but I love it! After nearly 30 years, it's great to not have to worry about it. One suggestion, don't get it done and go on a cruise right after! They need some time to adjust (i.e., halos, trouble reading menus for a little while, or focusing) and you can't get water in your eyes. So hiking up Dunns River Falls in Jamaica on your birthday after getting lasik only a month or two before - not a good idea (don't ask me how I know!)

Ah, Catholic guilt, almost as good as Jewish guilt - they just haven't been at it as long!

I'm still not getting all the smilies - every time I click on the show all smilies - it's like I don't think so, buddy.

Have a good day! Kristi
