Diva K, you are so kind and so sweet. The DIS is truly a community of friends. :thumbsup2

Slightly Goofy

yep, the DIS can even corrupt an old grandma into doing a beer run for a bunch of wild Texas gals. :lmao:

Slightly Goofy

Beer run? And I was left out of this excitement??? Oh, but of course, that before Ii was blessed (?) to join in the fun around here.:goodvibes

The beer wasn't for me....I don't touch the stuff...but the other Divas like it!
Diva Sheryll remembers you got her Starbucks Frappucinos too (again not for me, don't drink coffee either!)
I smuggled my own pirate water (coconut rum!) on the plane and into the parks (try it in a Dole Whip!)

Let me know if you need a ride from San Antonio or Austin airport!

Thank you. :goodvibes I think my BFF or her DH will be picking me up. Hadn't thought about Austin, wonder if flights would be any cheaper. Is it rude to miss the wedding, but send a much nicer gift? Airfare is horrible. And to fly in late Friday night and then back on the plane early afternoon on Sunday, plus a 3 hour drive from San Antonio and back again. Not looking forward to it at all...can you tell?:lmao:

Melissa,
I can only speak for me on this thinking back to my wedding I would never expect anyone to come to my wedding and especially someone out of state. I would invite them so they didn't feel like I forgot about them or didn't want them there but would never expect them to show up or even send a gift for that matter.

The only thing I did get insulted by was how many people RSVP'd and then never called to tell me they couldn't come and instead just didn't show up costing us money for their plates. There was one emergency that RSVP'd but didn't show and I totally understood that.

I think it would make the bride happy if you called and told her she would be in your thoughts that day but you just can't get there for the wedding.

:bride:

I do not believe in destination weddings, unless they are at Disney World. :rotfl2: Honestly, I am trying to talk my sister into having her wedding there, if she gets married. I plan to take her over to the wedding pavilion when we are there. I have a feeling it would not take a lot to get her to consider that. I hope.:thumbsup2

It is nice to be invited to a wedding but I agree with Ang that most folks do not expect you to spend big money to come, usually. It is nice that you are going and maybe your present could be your presence, Melissa?

M&N, I do not generally make beer runs, or any other kind, but something just struck me about this group of young wives, off on their own for a Disney vacation and you could just tell that they were good folks. I would not want to have been stuck with their order, the snacks would be dangerous. :lmao: I left them in the trunk of my car because as I remember there was chocolate involved and that is my weakness. Wonder if they noticed the small nibblings around the edges?popcorn::

FB seems to be down. Oh well, we have more than one home in this group.

I went to check to make sure I am right and I am. This round of FD requires TWO days worth of tickets per person but the next round, going into next year, requires a FIVE day pass for each person. Having an AP and having to buy a one day ticket was not too bad and even two days, since we stay so long, is not too bad but I surely do not want to have TEN one day passes to add to my stack.

At my age I sincerely doubt that I will ever get to use the tickets I presently have before MY expiration date.

SG,
The next round of FD for next year says 5 day pass but if you go in and do a mock booking you can change it to 2 day passes. I booked just incase we decide to go the end of May begining of June again with FD and our 2 day base tickets are around $175 each with tax. Maybe that would make it better for a chance of your booking next year.

If I had extra money to blow I would buy those passes off you but all my spare cash/change will go to our next vacation.

We sincerely appreciated your efforts to make our trip more magical! We still talk about your generosity fondly. :lovestruc
The Divas are considering a return trip for my 40th birthday in 2011 :cutie:

I must not hang out on the right threads on the DIS or something. How the heck do you know about these things Ang?

I make a booking (online??) and then change the tickets and can still get Free Dining?

Do you happen to know if you book in during the right time period can you extend into blackout periods as you used to be able to do?

I am going in the Spring of 2011 for a fact and am hoping to be able to buy a Florida pass for the trips later in the year.

I am worn out and need to wash my hair so I am going to close down for the night and will probably not see you all until Thursday. Tuesdays I am gone all day and then Wednesday I am taking Tom for his colonscopy. Have to watch him like a hawk and make sure he does not eat anything , by accident, tomorrow. Got hims so fluids he might like and lots of banana popsicles to ease the pain of no food.

I sat and watched him eat at the buffet today and tomorrow, after weigh in, I am going in there by myself and have me some of those deviled eggs that mocked me today. I'll show them!

Good night dear friends, SG

Linda,
All you do is go to www.disneyworld.com and on the bottom there is a box for special offers in green so click there. On the right is the offer for free dining and the dates with the extended dates underneath. Click on book now and put in your dates and prefered resort and then when you get the quote change the tickets to two day base and tada your new price comes up.

It was posted on all the websites that new deals were coming out so I went to see if there were dates after Will gets out of school and there were. I have been playing with it figuring it all out and then called in to book it just in case with 2 day base tickets.

Here are the dates 2010: Oct 1 - 7 • Oct 22 - 28 • Nov 12 - 18 • Nov 27 - Dec 2 • Dec 10 - 21

2011: Jan 1 - 5 • Jan 9 - 13 • Jan 21 - Feb 3 • Feb 11 - 17 • Feb 25 - Mar 3 • May 27 - Jun 2 • Aug 19 - Sept 29

Not much in the spring because of when easter falls next year and it's more expensive next spring because of it.

Hey Peeps, nice to see everyone still here!! Linda I can't imagine what you'll do with all those extra tix!! I am wondering if I book the free dining Basic, which is the Bounceback offer, can I trade some of the Ts for CS? I know you must've done this Miss Linda but have they been allowing it lately? 4 more days til I'm back home!!!!!!!!

Ang, I always know when deals are coming out as I keep track of that and have often checked prices on Disney.com but did not know that when 5 day tickets are required that you could downgrade to 2. I would not have thought of it. Me thinks you know more nefarious folk than I. :rotfl: Once again you are planning a trip when I cannot be there? Maybe not. I may have to go in May because of the timing etc. My house will be on the market so it will be an interesting Spring. Think I have found the unit I want to buy as well. :thumbsup2

Jan, yep, one never knows what I will do with all those one day passes. One of my sisters and her husband will be there in the Spring when I go and they will get a couple of tickets. A friend who lives where I plan to move and I are talking about heading over to see the CP next year too. I always keep a couple with me cause you just never know when you might meet someone you can bless.:goodvibes I have exchanged TS for CS and a couple of snacks in previous years but read that last year you could only trade even/even. I think it best to get the QSDP and then pay for one or two TS OP. Do the math and see what works for you. I have planned a couple of OP meals but then I did so last year as well and we never did so cause we had too much food and never really wanted to eat at a TS. Sorry I cannot help more but maybe someone else on here has newer or better info than that.

Oh I thought you asked how I knew about the deal and how I got it. Sorry TMI. I kept wondering why you wouldn't know.

No nepharious friends I was just playing making a reservation and every year it puts the amount of ticket days that you will be staying and every year I have changed it to less days. It showed 2 days as the least so I clicked it and it worked. If I remember correctly it was the same for this year around April when free dining came out and they no longer allowed 1 day base tickets.

Jan Jan,
As Linda said last year they would not let us use TS for QS when we were there in October. I was sick so I had a bunch of TS left over that I just basically lost. Years before that I was able to get QS and two snacks or a gift for the TS. More money for Disney. I would try at different places though as nothing ever seems to be the same with different CM's. I only tried at ASports to trade.

PS. I just saw your question about booking during the deal and extending it to the days after it is available. Yes you can do that.

I'm posting real quick before leaving to take Jacob to school.

Hmmm, I may have to try that sometime. And you brought alcohol into MK? :lmao: That Dole Whip sounds really good.

Who is getting married?
:bride:
It is a friend that we were best friends from the time I was 8, she was 5 until college. Had a falling out then and I haven't really been that close to her since. Even while I was back in Texas, living in the same town, we only spent one day together and then only ran into each other while out shopping. Just one of those things where I feel like I have to go.

Melissa,

:bride:

Ang, you made me feel much better. That's sort of how I feel, especially since I have to bring Jacob with me. It would be good for him to get to see Grandma, but what a quick trip. The sad thing is, I know that if was BFF Vickie, I'd already have our tickets. I feel like a horrible person and probably am for feeling this way.

SG, highly recommend a trip to WDW while your home is on the market. We were at WDW while our house in TX was still for sale, we were on the Magic Express back to the airport when we got the call that not only did we have an offer, but we had two.

Hope you are all having a great week.
