Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Hey Jennifer, great trip report.:rotfl2: Seriously glad you got home safely and DD survived without the cell phone and ipod. Love that DS enjoyed the slide. Jacob would also. I can just hear the big "Yee Haw!"

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Ang, mailing the hat is no big deal and from reports the surgery went well, although she is in a lot of pain. This is her first surgery. I used to get the school photos @ WM as well. Cheaper and better. IMO

TB, just another reason why I drive. One thing, for sure, is that if I had to go down the slide 'wheee', would not be the word on my lips.:scared1: Instead of 'oui' it would have been 'merde". :rotfl:I am grateful that it was not any worse and no one got hurt.

SG

Hey did I done scare the merde' out of you all and you run away and leave me all by my lonesome? (sounds like something Timmie would say huh?) :rotfl:

SG

Linda,
You didn't scare me away. I have just been busy and I don't seem to be getting emails from this thread when anyone writes something.

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Got your package but Will won't be home till late to open it. Last night he got back to the school at 9pm and it was so dark out by the soccer buidling the bus almost made road kill out of me while I was parked there waiting. Will said everyone got a nice jerk on the bus when she stopped about a half inch from my bumper. I will have him email you after he opens the package. Thank you.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Ang

You didn't scare me away either Linda.

Like Ang I haven't been getting emails to this thread and have been thinking about how I need to check it out.

Ang, that's scary about the bus. Can't believe Will gets home that late.

I need to call the soccer association. I emailed yesterday because I hadn't heard what team Jacob would be on and they emailed me back and stated his team didn't have a coach and would I do it. Jonas said he would help because I don't know that much about soccer. It will only be two hours a week. They practice an hour before the game and then the game and all are on Saturdays. I guess I can handle that. More worried about getting frustrated with Jacob than anything else.

Well, we know Ang and Linda are ok, how is everyone else?

Ang, I haven't been receiving email notices from this thread either...maybe we've just been extra quiet?

Glad the surgery went well, Linda - do hope she is more comfortable soon. If she had the old fashioned gall bladder surgery then I understand all too well that pain. The docs felt the need to inform me that it was one of the most painful surgeries to be had - becasue it cut across all the major muscle in the stomach diagonally..gee, thanks, no something I needed to know!

Well, my friends, as you can see by my countdown :woohoo: I am off to Disney in December - the 10th - 15th - We'd (another DIS friend and I) booked POR, but I checked on a good travel agency that usually had discounts early December - well the POP group rate was too good to pass up - $302.00 total for 5 ngts -that is just $151.50 each..and it includes a free IllumiNations dessert party. This agency does this every December. The TA's give up their commissions to do the desert party for the guests who book with them. Nice! Actually, we were all covered in ash the last time, but what was really fun was the back entrance group ride on Soarin'. About 100 of us went on together, through the back entrance - they gave us pins and so..it was pretty neat.

ARI am arranging with special need to have the room deep cleaned, including the carpet, so hopefully we will have a room in reasonably good shape - fingers crossed!

Miss you all - it's been sooo quiet around here! we're getting up there in pages - what will happen when we reach 250?? Anyone going to start a new POP Tarts thread? Sure hope so!!

Melissa,
I coached AYSO once and assisted a few years with only the knowledge I had from playing soccer as an elementary student. It wasn't too bad and I got a book from the head of soccer to help me understand better. There was always an assistant for us as well so you could offer to assistant coach. If a child is new the coaches won't pick them so all the new kids seem to end up without a coach. The funny thing here is that was always the team that did the best and it aggrevated the other coaches. lol

The hardest part is confronting the parents who critisize and yell about the way the kids play because AYSO doesn't allow it. AYSO had us get shirts that said we coach, kids play, parents cheer on the back. Sadly, I ended up believing we had a lot of illiterate parents. lol

I am glad Will is on high school soccer now so I can just sit back and watch instead of coaching. We have one dad this year that sits on the sideline yelling to the boys what to do but they never, ever listen to him. I think he likes the sound of his own voice. lol

M&N,
I am so happy you are going in December. Good for you. So who are you going with? Will you get together with Linda while you are there? What a great price you got for a moderate.

Ang

Hi, Ang!

Sent Linda and email, but she may not have seen it yet. Sorry I wasn't clear - it's for POP - comes out to $60 a ngt inc tax - very nice, even a bit better than the AP rate for the same dates..no rooms were to be found at OP for our dates, except free dining and pref room, but we do not nee d a preferred room, so why pay even the few dollars extra? We are each saving $253 over the POP free dining rate, so we can eat quite well on that!!

I am going with a DIS friend on a thread that got started when she was planning her trip last August - a few of us became regulars and now we post almost everyday - chit chat, like we Pop Tarts. ;) She asked me a few days ago and it was terrific timing - dates we could travel worked perfectly.

Had better get to see Linda while there!!! Melissa, if you are going to be at a park any time during the days we are there, be sure to let me know!

M&N,
You still got a good deal intermediate or not. How awsome that your friend came through for you in December. Glad it sounds like it is someone you are comfy with and won't be alone.

You are gonna love meeting with Linda and Melissa they are two of the nicest people I've met. If you can get together with Cheryl she is another good person. I really enjoyed my time with all of them.

Cheryl,
How nice to be able to do a Holiday time stay. Glad to see you posting again.

Ang

I am going in Dec. as well and staying at pop for the 1st time!!

Great news, Cheryl! When will you be there? Hope you have a great stay!

I was surprised when she asked if I wanted to go - we had not discussed it at all. Nice surprise. :goodvibes I sure hope I do get a chance to meet everyone - I feel I know you all anyway, so meeting in person would be wonderful.

minnie and nana - I will be there the 10th-14th. I think we are using the same agency.
(Note can't say it here.)

Hey, Cheryl! If it is www.mousefantravel.com we sure can say it here! They have no problems with the DIS, but there is another agency with the name Mouse in it that cannot be posted. I do not normally use a TA but for December trips (for the former MouseFest dates) they have great blocked rates and that terrific IllumiNations Dessert Party - if you are going to that Friday night, let's do exchange cell numbers so we can say hello?

Will you be at POP as well or are you one the lucky ones in a mod or better? :thumbsup2 (BTW, my first name is Cheryl, same spelling, but have always gone by my middle name).

Ms Linda must be pretty busy these days - hope it is all good. ::yes::

Gee, think I'm getting excited!!!!

Yes it is Mousefan: Not sure which Illuminations dessert I will get - I will PM you my cell. Are you going to any of the WDWToday meets? if so I'll catch you at those.

Yes we are at Pop (unless I get upgraded)

Upgraded???? :teeth: Have never been upgraded from one resort to another during Mousefest week (not offically MF this yr, but you know what I mean!), but it would be pretty sweet! Or maybe you meant you might upgrade the resort yourself. That would nice too. :)

Not attending any of the WDWToday events - do not even know what or when those are or where to find info. :confused3

I'll send my cell as well (we are already friends on FB!). Thanks!

:woohoo:

Hello All, :wave2:
Sorry I've been MIA lately (I've been over on FB!) :surfweb:
I think I've been kinda avoiding The Dis since I don't have an upcoming trip :sad2:
But I am so happy for you all that are going in early December! What an amazing deal! :thumbsup2
I wish I could come too! :santa:
Not much going on here...finally got some rain (in fact DS football & baseball games were cancelled last weekend!) and its cooled off!

SG, hope your DSD is doing better. I somehow missed that post.

Kris, :cheer2: for the rain. Sorry the games got cancelled, but I know the rain was desperately needed. Didn't flood in your area did it?

M&N and Linda, yes I hope to meet both of you in December. I just missed the other two travelers. Just didn't have the time to make it over to the world. With soccer starting, that is going to cut into my WDW time. I am starting to have withdrawals though, so I need to get back.

Hopefully I will get to see you also Cheryl.

I am now the official coach of Jacob's soccer team. It's not bad, its a league like Ang mentioned. They just want the kids to have FUN. Jonas helped me yesterday and I ended up with two other Dad's on the sideline, but they were just helping get the kids in place because several had no idea what to do. Plus, they don't have any lines painted on the fields so that makes it difficult for everyone. We lost 7-0 or something like that. One little boy told me it was the best day of his life and he was glad he decided to play soccer.:goodvibes That's what we are there for!

Oh, and as we pulled into the parking lot my son had the nerve to say only boys should play soccer. He jinxed himself because the two players with the best abilities on our team are girls!

Jacob is doing well in school. The teachers are having him do his tests verbally which seems to be helping, but I worry about him being able to handwrite.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hi everyone.

Hoping everyone had a good weekend.

Kristin,
I thought you got an AP and were going during winter break or was it spring break?

Melissa,
Glad your doing well coaching and it sounds like you did get some help from the dads.

Funny Jacob says soccer should be for boys and then learn that the girls are better. lol

Glad to hear Jacob is doing well in school. I wouldn't worry too much if they are just helping him with writing on tests. They do a lot more writing of assignments etc. that he will get practice on. How much handwriting do we do as adults anyway since everything is typed anymore? The only handwriting I do is to make a grocery list, keep a date book, a note here and there, and write thank you cards. As long as he can do that much and can type he will be fine. Just figure with his handwriting he just might make a great doctor some day. lol Just make sure he gets some typing and computer classes and he will be fine. When he is in college he will have a laptop and not write anyway. Can you tell we deal with the same issues here?

Will is doing better this year organizing and turning in his homework. He did just learn the lesson that tests are homework too. When mom tries to explain that it goes in one ear and out the other. He needed to learn the hard way. He has one class that consists of one test a month and no homework. He decided he didn't need to study and got an F on the test. Doing that just got him kicked off the soccer team for the season and no privileges at home till he gets his grade up. Since there is only one test a month he won't be able to get the grade in that class up till the middle of next month after soccer season is over. That is one lesson learned the hard way. Now he will just drive me crazy for the next month with how bored he is. Every time he tell me that he is going to hear well if you studied for your test you wouldn't be bored now would you. lol

Hi everyone:goodvibes In my few moments of time, I am reaching out to all family, friends, and acquaintances for prayer. My dad is not doing well, w/o too much detail he weights 120lbs and having difficulty keeping anything in his body. We got him home from hospital last week but have no improvement. Please say a prayer or good thought for my hero:littleangel: TIA:grouphug:
