Thanks for the suggestions!

Cheryl, is that your puppy? It s/he a Bichon, Maltese, poodle or?

Adorable!! How old and name, please?

(Can you guess I am a major lover of doglets?)

Hey, you didn't say you were going on Facebook. Guess I didn't ask the correct question.:rotfl2: Have FUN! I know you will though. I love Elton John and DH loves Billy Joel, but couldn't go. We did see a mother and son at a Waffle House the morning after the concert with their t-shirts on. I bet that was a fun mother-son night.

SG, were you speaking of a MP3 player when you mentioned not needing more noise in your ears? Do you have a lot of albums to copy? The thing I like about my Ipod is all my music is on it, so no searching for a CD I want. We have over 500 cd's. Took them out of their cases several years ago and put them in binders, so searching for CD's is never fun.

And Cheryl, your furbaby is so cute!

SG,
You really need an MP3. Just think of it this way you will never have to hear DH again. lol Just walk around with the little ear buds in your ears (get the nice soundproof little rubber ones) and put it to the volume of your liking. Then you could just tell DH you went deaf and he will stop calling you way out back in the yard to change the batteries in his remote control. They are sooooo simple to set up and use and since you have all that music on the compter already it will be that much easier to download onto the MP3.

M&N,
So nice to see hear from you. How is that grandbaby. I meant to tell you she her pics are too adorable.

Kris,
Enjoy your show. How was the beach the other day?

Cheryl,
Good to see you on the list too. Your dog is adorable too. Is that a Bichon Friese (SP)? I have heard nothing but good things about that breed. I have a shih tzu and a dauchsund that are really sweet dogs.

Ang

I have never been to a concert in my entire life. I have worked a few and such but never attended one. The Elton John/Billy Joel one was in our area recently or is coming, I am not sure which. That is one that I would love! Can't go though. :sad1:

Ang, you done plumb forgot I am deaf and cannot hear Tom, most of the time. Right now he is screaming as he cannot hear either. He stuffs his ear wax down into his ears. I try and try to tell him not to do that but he does and every couple of years I have to haul him in for a water pix moment at the doctor's, which is painful to him and to our wallet. You would think he would learn. :confused3 I am not really into music anyway. I can feel it but not really hear it.

Diva K, of course things were nearly perfect for your beach visit. What amazes me is that the water was not preheated to your temperature. Divas deserve better! I know you guys are going to have a blast at the concert! Those guys do great shows. Report, please?:worship:

JM, I have all my c/d's and computer programs in binders also. It is so much easier than the alternative. I have my music all nicely organized and the program also does the cover art, even for albums that I do not have covers for. I also like the fact that the program has a feature that has all sorts of images that 'dance' in time with the music. Not that I actually use it often. I did play "My Ding a Ling" the other day though. I was testing my speakers. Honestly. :rotfl:

M&N, heck you just love all cute little things. Doglets? Never heard that word and there are few words I have never heard or uttered.

I got about half the work done that I intended on doing. My grandson never showed up and never even called. I have a letter on my desk asking for a donation for them to go on a mission trip and have been told to pray over it. I think I have been told, by my Higher Power, that I am to donate $20 an hour for each work the boys do. That should save me big bucks. Granny is not in a good mood today. pirate: I think it and never follow through.

SG, I forgot to mention earlier, thank you for the update on Nancy and that is good news that she is getting better.

Oops, didn't mean to double post, but I think it was SG that said I should show me mine and she would show me hers, so here is the table:

Don't know why my dog was licking it. Maybe this is her way of saying she loves it.

...sigh...you got me on that one, SG, my friend. Yep, love all cute little things: little dogs, little babies, little boxes...maybe because I was never a cute little thing? :lmao:

Made up words are just the best, yes? Due to age, I've given myself the right to have fun with words instead of worrying about spelling, punctuation and grammar (and I lie too). :upsidedow

All the more pennies for your Disney trip!! Maybe you should upgrade with all those saved greenbacks. :thumbsup2

Maybe it's something in the air - I've been kinda grumpy today as well. :guilty:

Oh, yes, thank you for the update on Nancy. Continuing to hold her near in thoughts.

Melissa, the table it gorgeous! You did an excellent job!!

Yes that is my bichon, Those were pictures from a month or so ago. I'll take some more of him today.

Yah, the Dis is back up. So, what did everyone do without the Dis today? Hope you all had a good Sunday!

Man, I felt like I was going through withdrawal. I work awhile and then I compute awhile. I had to work twice as much today. Not good. :lmao:

Dgs and his dgf showed up today and he did two of the door locks and checked the water heater for me. It is not heating up as much as it should. Hopefully the new setting will make it right.

Cheryl, I am thinking you must enunciate very well when telling people what kind of dog you have. :lmao: He is a cutie for sure, for sure.

M&N, I collect small boxes as well. I was never little nor cute either. I doubt that I will ever be either. Not really a goal anyway. :wizard:

JM, your table is absolutely lovely. I would have never thought to paint the legs black. Is your hubby proud of you? What project are you going to do next? Once you start stripping it is difficult to stop. :dance3: Let me see if I remember how to post a picture and if I happen to have one of my table. It is a different style. Cost $15.

Sorry, will try again tomorrow. The link did not work.

That is my husband and this is where he sits all day long. I tiled the top of this old table and it matches the tiling I did in the kitchen.

Hi everyone. Hope your weekends were good.

Cheryl,
Your dog is the cutest.

The show was terrific! Billy was more charismatic than Elton (talking to the audience, telling jokes, talked about The Alamo, played The Yellow Rose of Texas...)
1.gif

of course Elton's wardrobe trumped Billy's!
7.gif

The concert began with both of them, then Billy left and Elton played by himself, then Elton left and Billy played alone, Elton returned to the stage and they played together till the end. The concert was almost 3 1/2 hours (no opening act, no intermission...just Billy & Elton, not bad for a couple of 60 year olds! :worship:)

sounds like a winner... thank you for a play by play report... maybe next time me and mom can catch their show somewhere...

so IS it just my :badpc: slow or DIS is slow???

I sure hope they do a video or a TV show of that concert. There are few things that I would be willing to fight a crowd for but that sounds like one. Very talented fellows they. Bit of troubled personal lives but on stage they cannot be beat. Appears as if Elton has finally gotten his personal life settled happily. I am glad. BTW, I resent the '60' year old crack. Just because we cannot do things as fast does not mean that we cannot do them better than we used to and we no longer do things that do not interest us so we are more focused.:rotfl:

Timmie, I just became your friend. Heck, I did not know that I had not been, up to now. Something more for me to learn. I need to buy more memory. Lots more memory.

I got the nicest card from the staff at the CC. It really touched me. I am grateful for such things. The kids were glad to see me and I was sure glad to see them. How much they change in just two weeks. :lovestruc

JM, I am in the middle of a couple of things right now but will try to remember to post a picture later. My house is full of cheap furniture that I picked up and cleaned up. Started out because I had to and then I decided that was the way to go versus paying payments and have never regretted it. I will buy new if it is exactly what I want but I do not need much anymore. The black legs will not show the scuff marks as much as the white and it looks so much more expensive and modern. You got skills!

Wic,

As for Nancy all I meant was that she might want to ask her doctor why her blood tests did not show an infection if he is telling her she has pneumonia a day after sugery.

I have no reason to discredit Nancy but I do take what she says with a grain of salt due to her need for attention. That is ok if you don't agree with that as it is my opinion after getting to know her. There are people like that in the world and that is just the way it is.

No I am not a doctor but I do have a medical background both educationally and work related. Taking blood tests to check for infection is a simple thing that anyone who has had sugery would know so no need to be a doctor to know that.

Well I guess then with your back ground in Medical you should know that when a patient gets out of surgery they are given a stermeter(SP) to breath into so they don't get pneumnia but I was only 1 of about 4 people that day that got sick from the hospital and WASN't sick before surgery all my tests were okay EKG, chest x-rays, pee test, blood test etc. I could go on but I guess you would believe me anyways!

As for last September and the big misunderstanding unless you were there you really have no clue. You are only hearing Nancy's side of things and that is ok with me if you choose to do that. You are her friend so it is understandable. I was there and I tried to talk to her about things when we got back to make things better and let her know that nobody was mad at her and that I was sad that she left. When I talked to her she never apologized she just got more and more upset trying to make herself right and everyone else wrong. In fact, I was the one who apologized to her for anything I did that made her uncomfortable because I thought it would make her feel better and understand that I was not upset with her. It only made things worse because fact is Nancy is a very emotional person and she is very determined so once she has an idea in her head she refuses to listen to anyone elses side of things. She also holds on to things and will not let them go but she will read into everything she sees as a dig against her even when it has nothing to do with her. Kind of like what you did with my post above. She will make a point of looking for anything that she can to cry foul even if she is trying to dig that info up from other sites and blogs to do it. She has been upset by things that other posters that are not a part of this group have written and would not let go of that either as I am sure you are aware of. Again that is who she is and if that works for her then so be it.

Honestly, after talking to her after September I made the decision to hold her at arms length and try to be nice and wish her well. Lately, I have tired of all of her woes and decided not to say anything. My post about the pneumonia was honestly so that she or Mike could as informed patients ask the doctor why it was not caught before sugery. I tried to make it plain and simple so that nothing else could be misconstrued about it and now you are misconstuing it so I am done. I will not post any more replies to anything either you or Nancy say if that will make you both more comfortable. I am truely glad that you and Nancy can be friends and understand one another and I hope you many more years of friendship.

I have many other people on this thread that I appreciate and enjoy conversing with list who I hope are not offended by things I say so I will continue to reply to them.

I hope that seeing how open and honest I have been in this reply that Nancy and you can let this go because I let it go many months ago and moved on but again it has been brought back up.

AS far as last Sept. your memory has a bit of a hick up in it and I have 2 other people that heard me tell you and Timmy and Bonzi that I was sorry and how bad I felt over the whole thing so, you can say what you want and believe what you must to make yourself feel good but I know the truth and so do you and Timmy! I couldn't apologize anymore to anyone than I did last year so you all need to get over it and move on.

IN fact the last words I told Timmy was even though she felt that way and could not or would not accept my apology that no matter what I would always consider her a friend. OH if you want to talk about people lying then you should look at some of your friends who said thing that werent true at all like the fact the dress was sent back to me and I never recieved it.

Have a great life because this won't bother me anymore I am done feeling like crap over what happened last year and if you are not an adult enough to accept someones apology then to bad for you you need to grow up.

To everyone else thank you for all your well wishes and I really do appreciate them very much.

I am just sorry that the spat last year has come out on Timmy's board so if anyone wants to talk with me I am going to come up with a new theard so I don't "bother them" and you also can get ahold of me by FB.:dance3:
