How you all doing? Wish I lived closer as I could help with some of those thar literature problems. My grandkids grew up hearing me tell tales from the classics so they do not think it much of a much when they read them. Made them interested in the books cause my telling is a bit more up to date than the books themselves.
Tom whitewashing the fence, or rather tricking the other boys in town to doing it for him while also getting paid is one of their favorites. I have even condensed GWTW into a subject that makes them want to try to read the book. So many of the classics come in plain wrappings and it takes a bit of imagination to get a child to read a book without pictures. They can think up better ones than can be drawn. Does not always work, wish it did though.

M&N, I have my lights on as well. Small tree next to my big red comfy chair and ottoman. Vast array of remotes and I am set for an hour or two, here and there. I hope your snow evaporates soon and takes the dirt with it.
Diva K. I think I read that the Steelers won their game! Good for you and yours. I love the fact that you miss your husband. If mine would ever leave I would promise to miss him. How can I miss him if he never leaves?
jmskinner, did Jacob get to pick the book or was it something required? I believe in kids reading what they like. They will do more reading that way and as they improve their skills the rest will follow. JMO.

I am not a big sports fan but I went to a good basketball game Saturday night. My daughter called and invited me to go and she would drive as I do not drive in unfamiliar places after dark. I do not get many such invites so I accepted with speed. Our team did not win, however we did get 28 points, 22 of which were made by a certain small blond boy that I love.
Headed out to try to trick some kids into loving to read.
