Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

Hi everyone:goodvibes In my few moments of time, I am reaching out to all family, friends, and acquaintances for prayer. My dad is not doing well, w/o too much detail he weights 120lbs and having difficulty keeping anything in his body. We got him home from hospital last week but have no improvement. Please say a prayer or good thought for my hero:littleangel: TIA:grouphug:

Your Dad, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Hello there you sweet gals! :goodvibes It seems that everything is in a hurry round these parts.

My Dsd in on the mend, physically. I finally got so frustrated that I told her "Yes, dear, you do have the right to make your own choices. BUT, when you continue to make the same bad ones it is also our right not to pay for them". Not sure she got that as she seems to suffer from the same selective hearing as her father. :confused3 Reminder, she is over 50 years old!

Heritage Days this weekend, yard, house and food all has to be perfect for our annual Open House. I would not want Tom to be embarrassed when he is showing everyone all HIS work.:lmao:

The Men in Black done swarmed into town and shut down our bank. :scared1:

Heard about my other grandkids today. The older boy has been talking to his cousin. He did not remember him or us. I am glad he has someone to help him through these days. He has had such a secluded life and must be having a hard time as this is his first time to get to go to school and be with other children. He is 15. I wish I could hug him.

My medications are all messed up and I am having huge weight gains and losses, week by week. Cut myself badly yesterday and did not bleed. Not a good sign.

Other than that all is fine here.:dance3::cool2::rolleyes1

Bonz, honey, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I can imagine how you must feel, having been there myself. I wish there were something I could say or do to make things better but being human there is not so I will offer up prayers to One who is better equipped than I.:littleangel: Please come by and vent any old time you feel the need and in the meantime we will hold you in our hearts and prayers.

Ang, does it ever frustrate you that they keep on doing things the same old way in school in spite of all the technological advances that we have made? What skills were once needed are not so much in demand and there are new ones that are. I fail to see why most children cannot be educated and graduate with some useful training for a job in twelve years. I am sorry to hear that Will messed up and cannot play soccer. Hopefully this is a lesson he will only need to learn once. :flower3:

JM, I am looking forward to meeting you in December. As soon as I get my agenda a bit more organized I will send it to you along with my cell phone number and we can make plans. Jacob must not see you as a 'girl' to make such a statement. :rotfl: My oldest grandson has to have things read to him as well. Everyone is different and our wiring is not all alike. I think boys should be allowed to get up and run down the hall and back a few times a day myself. You are so good to be a coach and I am sure what the one boy told you about it being the best day of your life was ample payment for your efforts. It warmed the cockles of MY heart as well.

Hey Cheryl! Maybe we shall see each other as your dates are at the end of our stay and we plan to get together with M&N as well. Driving to resorts to see decorations on the 10th, CP on the 11th, and Osbourne Lights on the 12th, we head home on the 13th.

SG

Kris, :cheer2: for the rain. Sorry the games got cancelled, but I know the rain was desperately needed. Didn't flood in your area did it?
No flooding here...no football practice this week due to rain...hopefully they'll be able to get their games (Saturday AND Sunday! :headache:) in this weekend....or not, we have concession stand duty on Saturday :sad2:
Kristin,
I thought you got an AP and were going during winter break or was it spring break?
Ang
It was a passing thought but we didn't go for it...Mary got AP and wanted us to too so we could go back together

DH and I are chaperoning 6th grade band night at the high school football game tonight  I told him I wasn't going to do it unless he came too!
Dentist appt this morning...fingers crossed no cavities...I've been experiencing some cold sensitivity lately :worried:

Diva K, surely such a thing as tooth decay could not possibly happen to a Diva. It must just be the "Princess and the Pea" syndrome and you are just a delicate creature who feels things more than most. :goodvibes

I do not miss concession stand duty. I ran the concession stand back in my day. My daughter does it now. She has far more to do than I ever did now. She thinks she is very different from me. Poor deluded girl. :rotfl:

It is raining to beat the band here. Not good. The grass needs mowing and it is not likely to be done today. It will be difficult to do tomorrow with our Open House and all and if it rains then no one will come and I still will not be able to mow. May I have permission to throttle the first person who notices? The house is spotless, the food is all organized but there is always the one who notices what you did NOT get done. AND it is always the fault of the wife.

On an upside, there IS time to compute. I like that more any old way.

SG

Diva K, glad you did not flood. And hope you get to have the games, I always hate making up games, can't plan any away time when sports season is here. Also hope the dentist appt went well. I need to go myself.

SG, you are going to do what I want, drive around and look at all the resorts. I'm going to try to see more decorations this year.

And I hope the open house goes well and that no one notices the yard, but I am sure it doesn't look as bad as you think.

M&N, very excited that you got to book a trip!

Ang, I was sorry to hear about Will and soccer. Back in my senior year our band was to go to WDW, had raised most of the money and half of the members failed and then we couldn't go. :sad2:

Just a little school vent. Got the call yesterday that they needed help stamping and putting room numbers on a lot of books. Turns out these are reading books the teachers should have been using since the first of school, a month ago. They finally asked for the PTA's help in getting them organized. The person in charge of the order had told the teachers to get them and do it themselves, but I don't know how they expected them to figure out who got what. The boxes weren't divided by grade or anything and there are about 6 classes for each grade.

Did get some good news when I got home. I ordered dishes from Kohls and they will be here next week. :woohoo: Had the same dishes for 14 years and have wanted new ones for several years now. Wanted to post this on FB, but the DMIL would see it and she will fuss at me for spending the money, but if she sees them after I already have them, she won't say anything. Anyone want some Southwest style dishes?

JM, I do well with schedules and not so well with impromptu. Last minute things drive me nuts. I hope you had lots of help with all that work. Sports rule, too much IMO. Dalton came in 12th out of over a hundred so that is pretty good. I got the yard mowed yesterday when it dried up enough. Sister and hubby arrived, no friends, we went to the tea room for lunch. I drank a gallon of tea. Bummer, on the kids that did pass not getting to go to DW. Must have been very disappointing.

I am a mil and I would never criticize what my kids buy or do not buy, to their faces for sure. :rotfl: Frankly, if I am not paying for it is NOMB. I am sure your dishes are lovely and I hope they are exactly what you want. I am shopping for some myself. My mil would not approve either but she has been gone a long time. I liked her though we did not always agree. I just let her think we did and then did what I thought was right. Worked for me.

Diva K, how is your poor sensitive mouth doing? :headache:

SG

To those of you that are my facebook friend also, I wanted to extend my sincere thanks. Your good wishes & prayers after the loss of my father last week were genuinely heart warming. While I've only met a few of you in person, I feel like I know the rest of you very well indeed.
Anyway, you are appreciated. Thanks again.

Hey all!! Just back from a wonderful week at Disney and so jealous of all you meeting up in Dec! We had great weather, no rain, 95 every day and no love bugs. Booked BB for last week of August. Anyone else bouncing back?

Glad you had a great time! No BB here and I hate not having a ticker, but looks like two day trips this weekend. Going to try to catch Buzz Lightyear's parade on Friday if I can take the kiddo out of schoo early, and then a Dismeet on Saturday.

So glad you had a great time...pretty hot though!!!

I finally have a countdown, so looking forward to December.:thumbsup2

Gee, we sure have been quiet around here..or is is me who has been quiet? Sophia is keeping me on my toes these days - not walking yet, but she has taken several steps each day, so just a matter of time.

Looks like our page count is getting up there...sure hope we will have anew thread when we hit the 250 page limit! I would miss you!!

Rie,
So sorry to hear about your father and sorry I don't check facebook too much so I didn't know.

JanJan,
I didn't even know you left but glad to hear you had a great time. I hope it cools down a bit since I leave Friday but according to accuweather it won't be.

Melissa,
I sent you a private email about getting together next week. Hopefully, we will get a visit in.

M&N,
I bet your busy with the Sophia. It is so much fun to watch them learn to walk and so scarry when they go from a walk to a wobbly run. lol

Ang

Hey all! Yes, it's been quiet around here, and I'm one of the guilty. :guilty: Things have been crazy since we got back, so I haven't been around much. But I do check in occasionally, and think of everyone often, and wish we were going to be joining the party in December.

Ang--I woke up panicked the other morning wondering "did I ever answer your question about using TS credits for CS meals?" So glad you haven't left yet (because you couldn't possibly survive a trip without that vital piece of information, right?), because I did ask and was told yes, but it was a straight conversion--no extra snack credits or goodies (like the mesh bag). It's better than having to let them go to waste, though.

Argh, I spent all day up the Columbia Gorge on dd's field trip, and now it's time to pick up ds from the bus stop already. I need another week at WDW!

Sorry have been busy with Holy days and upcoming trip - also ac is on the fritz. so dealing with the apt repairmen

Back to school time is always crazy for us too so I totally get it.

No need to panic I figured I would just ask when we checked in Friday but now I don't have to so thanks. We don't need the extra goodies so no biggie. The more trips I take the less I like being stuck to a schedule and needing to be somewhere every day to eat. I just know I am going to say screw it and miss some of those table services.

Nice field trip; hope you enjoyed it.

Cheryl,
Will you be around next week to possibly get together?

Ang

The Hurrier I get, sigh.

Had a great time at our town celebration. Started out with one of my readers coming by and staying and then more and more came. Several were past students so it was especially nice to see them. Got lots of candy from the parade as more of my kids were marching and brought me handfuls of candy. I gave it away so I would not be tempted. The weather was beautiful and the company even better. The kids make Tom nervous so he stayed away. He sat in the kitchen munching on all the food so he was happy as well.

Bonz and M2E, both of you lost your fathers? Another person as well. I get confused between FB, DIS and then real and screen names. I am sorry, it is not lack of caring just lack of brain cells. How is Evie handling losing her grandfather? It is a confusing time for many children.

Ang, since learning that the TS and CS are traded even nowadays I no longer wonder if I should have hoped for an upgrade. I have put some money in the budget for a couple of TS meals OP, if we feel like it. I think you and I are both going to enjoy the QSDP. PLEASE, write a TR on the dining plan. There are so very many of the DP and Deluxe plans and a dearth of info on the QSDP. I figure that Will will ferret out the very best of the selection and I plan to follow his advice.

Cheryl, I hope your Holy Days went well. I try to remember when and what they are as I have many Jewish friends but then I often forget my birthday nowadays. :dance3:

TB, I wish you were coming in December as well. I have noted that many, who had not intended on going previously, are now signed on so it is not too late. :woohoo:

M&N, Timmie is planning on meeting us at MGM on the 12th. I am a bit worried now as Tom does not like laughter and it makes him nervous but maybe he can find a shop to browse through when he starts to get agitated. It is not a character flaw but part of his "thing". Boy, did he marry the wrong woman!

JM, we do the monorail tour resorts one night and end up on the Poly beach to watch EWP and Magic. Another day we drive from resort to resort off Buena Vista, ending at Boardwalk and Jellyrolls. I hit POR, AKL and CSR when we eat out after a park day. I drive to MGM and AK and we eat at a resort on those evenings. I do not care for the Contemporary decorations much. Are there any I have missed?

Jan, you Canadians enjoy the heat but I do not so no BB at that time of year for me. Are you doing a TR? What dining plan did you do?

Have to get ready to start out for the day. Lots to do today, some brawn, some brain. The brain part wears me out faster.

SG

SG,
So glad your fest turned out to be a fun time for you.

Last I talked to Bonz her dad was really sick so I am praying he has gotten better. I believe it was Rie who's father passed away. I remember when I got the call that my father passed away suddenly and it is such a shock for everyone involved so my heart goes out to anyone dealing with this.

As for the dining plans I did QS dining plan for one weeks reservation in June. I did like it better than TS since I paid for it. We did our few TS the other weeks we didn't have dining because Will loves burgers so we did a couple lunches at Le Cellier and one at Sci fi. Le Cellier at lunch has our favorite burgers with cream cheese mashed potatoes for not too much more than CS at $12.50.

To be honest if the dining were not free we wouldn't even bother with the QS because we spend a lot less than it cost eating when hungry. The only selling point for me is that it gets the food paid for and out of the way but then you can just get a gift card at Disney store and get it paid for and use that for the trip too.

Anyway, Will and I drink water with meals so that is money lost on us. We also never order dessert because if we eat everything on our plate there is no room. We get a snack here and there like but we always have a ton left over. Out of 28 snacks 2 per day each for 7 days we had 23 left at the end of the week. I took Will to Goofy's candy shop and he picked out a bunch of snacks and half of them went bad before he ate them and we threw them out. If I had to do it again we will get packaged snacks and take them home so Will can put them in his lunch to share with his friends. I figured it out and on a daily basis paying cash we spend approx. $20 per person because we get the refill mugs and have a case of water in the room so no drinks to buy.

I will have Will email you when we get back about his favorite foods this trip since he is the risky eater. His favorite is the duck and escargot at Chef's de France and that is where he chose to eat for his birthday dinner this trip.

He is going to love food and wine fest and we might just use all those snack credits there this trip which means we will have a bunch of CS left over then. Will loves that because we use them at Earl of sandwich and just get the sandwiches without the wet stuff like lettuce, tomato and sauces. He then takes them to school for lunch if Al doesn't get to them before he does. lol

Anyway, we leave at 4:30am tomorrow so I will say hi when I get back. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy while we are gone.

Angela

sorry double post.

Since I am erasing I forgot to say Will got his F up to a B+. He retook the test and did way better. I was just surprised they didn't average the two tests.

Hopefully he will be able to keep his grades up now. He has a goal to get a particular college scholarship where he needs a high GPA so we will see if that is motivation enough to keep those grades up.

LOL, Ang. I fear that Will is more of a gourmand than I. I like upgraded takes on foods but do not eat foods that I used to use for bait and such. I will look forward to his report though as I am sure he will think of some things that I would never have thought of.

Tom and I spend an average of $35 (both of us) a day when paying OP, mostly because I haul him to Golden Corral before heading to MK or MGM (neither of which have many food options that we like) and fill him up for the day. I am planning two OP TS meals this trip, one at Puck's since they have apparently done away with the Macadamia Chicken at the CS, as well as possibly CP before Spectro one night. I am with you on the dessert thing. A dessert with each meal and then two more during the day is overkill for anyone. If only they had more savory or healthy options. I can always use the leftovers to bring stuff back for my CC kids though.

Bet you guys will be in bed early tonight after such an early start.

Congrats to Will for getting that grade up. I am keeping a chart for Dalton so that he can see what direction his GPA is going in. That kid is so competitive that works for him. Poor boys have to work harder to get where they want and I think it is good for them.

I have had two other friends lose their fathers recently too and between FB and the DIS etc. my mind gets befuddled. You have more friends on the Internet but it also gives you a lot more people to worry about. I hate for such things to happen. I have been there myself. My youngest sister came home and found our mother. It was a huge shock even though she had been sick for several years.

Have a safe trip, great weather, short lines, ADR's whenever you wish, and the best parade seats ever!

SG

S/G my dad is still here, Thank You God! He is sick but has managed to put on 4lbs. He is up to 126lbs but includes jeans & shoes. He is fighting something called ischemic bowel disease. In short blood supply is cut off to organ. He will have good & bad days, we just need him to eat. :littleangel: He has become selective(afraid) of food.
Rie, prayers to you and your family:grouphug:
Ang& Will safe travels & good eats! Thinking about you & missing you.
Hey to rest of the gang, not the same when I am not on here everyday:sad2:
We closed on the new house on Wed- what a PITA! Glad it is over with:thumbsup2
Wonderful weekend to all:hug:

Dear Bonz

I am relieved to hear that your dad is still with you and doing somewhat better. I apologize for my ineptitude. I have excuses but they are complicated ones. There are days when I barely know my own name. I am so looking forward to a vacation soon, if I can survive the getting ready. The law has been laid down and a certain someone is going to have to carry his own drink and occasionally stand in a line. Not all the time just once in awhile. :thumbsup2 Not that my marching orders are often followed. :confused3

How wonderful that you have your home and are moving in. Are you going to post pictures? I love houses. I hope it is all you hope for and you have the best neighbors ever!
