Sept 2005 Roll Call...It’s Finally Sept! Are You Ready? Come Share Your Enthusiasm

Hi, I'm brand new to DIS and my family of 4 is flying out 9/25 (thru 10/2). I'm desperately trying to gather information on what to do with two little girls (6 and 9) to make the most of this special vacation for them. I'm trying to find out where to look to learn/reserve character meals, special shows, autographs, etc. Any suggestions?

I'm so anxious, this trip is a COMPLETE surprise to my girls. They have no idea! :Pinkbounc

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to the dis

If you haven't picked up one yet you might consider a guidebook:
The Unofficial Guide to WDW
Passporter
Brinbaums Offical Disney Guidebook
Tour Guide Mike ( www.tourguidemike.com is like an on-line guidebook)
ALso check out www.allears.com and www.wdwinfo.com as well :)

Also here on the dis check out the family forum and the Restautant boards.

Are you staying on Disney property or off Disney property.

Charchter meals you might wanna try for are CRT (Cinderella's ROyal Table at the Magic Kingdom breakfast and lunch with princessses) or the Princses Storybook meal at Norway in Epcot (has breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Please post if you have any other questions.

Check out allearsnet.com for a ton of information about Disney. And you might want to check out the Tinkerbell gifts discussion. It provides suggestions on how to make the trip even more magical (especially for little princesses princess:

Have a great time!

You have lots of work to do ;) LEt us knoe of you're staying on property, are part of the dining plan, will you have a car there etc???

What a great surprise for your daughters :)

My son and I will be at OKW 9/29-10/5 our first trip without entire extended family!! Can't wait :cool1: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

THANKS! We are staying at Carribean Beach and have purchased the Dining Package. I'm trying to figure out which character meals we'll want to do and whether we need to reserve ahead of time or not (meaning pre-vacation). Also noticing lots of discussion about specific times shows/parades may or may not be on, so i'm trying to plan that out as well. Didn't realize how much work this would be, but I'm getting SO excited :)

My wife and I and our soon to be adopted boys will be at ASMo. The wife and I have been there many times. First time for our boys (7 and 4).

I can't wait!

Phil

PS I think the wife and the boys are excited also. :earsboy:

Really need to call Disney Dining tomorrow morning and book some ressies. Do you have your park days planned? It helps to have that done before making your dining ressies. :earsboy:

I'm staying at CBR for the first part of my trip it is my favorite moderate resort! ARe you staying in the preferred location at all? Here is a link to more info on the CBR :

Here are some ideas to help you plan:

1. Formulate a small plan of what you want to do while you are there. Check out this link for a best days kind of a guide on which parks to do each day. http://www.touringplans.com/CrowdBlog.html (tourguide mike has a great one as well, but you will need to be a subscriber to use it). Also the resort guests get extra magic hours in the morning and night at certain theme parks on certain days. Many people have reported the evening hours to be very crowded. If you have a family of early risers get to the parks right away when they open so you can experience a lot of rides before the crowds start to come at 11am-12pm.

2. Make arrangements for dining ahead of time. If your girls are into the princesses I would reccomend CRT (at MK) or PSB (at Epcot). Charachter meals are hot items. Here is a link to some more info on the various charachter meals.
http://www.allearsnet.com/din/cb.htm
Also some dining ressies may be harder to come by because a lot of people have booked the free dining package. So you might check out the menus here http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm and make a few ressies (Advance dining reservations in Disney speak) (you can always cancel them).
Phone Number is 407-WDW-DINE

3. Check out the park/parade/nightime show hours for when you are at WDW
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm#hm-parkhours-quicklink

4. I see you will be at WDW during the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on Friday September 30. This is a Halloween themed party at the Magic Kingdom park that goes from 7pm-12am. The party does require a special ticket to gain entrance and they have the park themed with Halloween items. Chek out this thread for more info on that http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=809958

5. You can pick up autograph books at the WDW hotels and theme parks when you get there, but I do know that some people make them ahead of time at home.
