 I hope you got a picture of this! I would love to see it!

Lots of monkey pictures, but not in the stroller. DD3 was NOT amused with the monkeys. First one stole her cookie. Then one sat in her stroller. It took a lot of convincing (and a new stuffed monkey toy) to convince her to leave the snack shop and get back in the stroller:rotfl2: .

Good morning everyone,

I have been reading and trying to figure out who is who on here.
Some of you dont sign your names when you post, so I havnt a clue who you are:confused3

So I am going to ask a favor, if you can remember just for your next 5 or 6 posts, please sign your name and I will write it down so I know who you are.

This old grandma's brain needs alittle help sometimes, well actually most of the time:lmao:

so seeing a few names would be greatly appreciated. It seems alot of you already are aquainted, so you dont need the names, but I do.

Thankyou very much:goodvibes

I will be back to post and catch up with the rest of the pages in a bit. I have 2 dogs who are dancing a jig by the door, so I better get them out for some private time:rotfl2:

Kathy

Hey, Kathy, it seems we're in the same boat (in more ways than one :) ). That's a great idea; I've already started a spreadsheet w/DIS names and real first names. Can add other fields if necessary. I have a feeling I'm going to need a lot of help w/the large # of DISers we will probably have (yay!). I know we had a huge group on the September DD (lots of lanyard people--it was great!).

Thanks, Sarah and CACruisin, for sharing your experiences :goodvibes . I love hearing about the good and the bad, though I'd like to stay away from the scary places :scared1: . I wonder if there are any threads still available from the previous European repos. Going to have to check that out.

I loved the pate and hope the offer it again as an appetizer on this cruise! I can't wait to see the monkeys but now I am trying to think of what to wear/carry. My purse has crystals on it, so thats out! I guess I need a new one for the cruise...drat!

oh and I'm steph

Great idea!!! I have extras (I picked up a lot of them for my scrapbooking). And Kimberly - I'm a big planner. People at work can't believe I actually booked a cruise two years in advance!!

I love to scrapbook. I'm the same way, I walk around picking up everything that isn't nailed down!! Don't know if I'll use it but one never knows. I have all of the above waiting for my next book (the SEP DD cruise). I also picked up extras of the luggage tags they put out the last night of the cruise and I always pick up a couple of extra copies of the Navigators.

I digital scrap now, so have taken to scanning anything I get in the mail for a trip, and I have even done the whole luggage tag set in printable .png files. Its a sickness. I have the document folder, the checklist booklet inside and out, pages from inside the document folder, the envelope, lol. :sad2:

I've never scrapbooked but you all are making it sound like fun (and a good way to gather up all those memories). Any hints for an absolute newbie to the hobby?

What airline does Disney use when you book flights through them? We decided to use their booking just because I'm paranoid about being left behind or something else dire! We'd love jetBlue to fly to Europe 'cause we love jetBlue! DH is 6'4" and the roomier spots on the plane make him happy. Plus it's cool to have the little screens in front of you where you can watch what you want rather than what the airline is showing.

We'd love to hear about previous trips to Barcelona, Gibraltar, and the other stops we'll be making. If anyone wants to share or if there's a thread I can read, I'd appreciate the info big time. I went to the library yesterday and got an old Fodor's for Spain and some books to refresh my high school Spanish. Portuguese next, I guess. Gosh, I can't believe how exciting this is and we're still almost two years out!! Ok, less than 700 days out (not sure that sounds better  ).

Joanne, It sounds like we are almost neighbors! I live in Spotsylvania, VA ....

I have quite a bit of information on Barcelona, Gibraltar and Madeira. We have been to those ports on other cruises. We stayed in Barcelona for five nights before the DCL 2007 Westbound TA -- I highly recommend it! There is so much to see and do there, that we plan to stay again before this cruise. I'm excited to show the sights to my sister and her husband who will be cruising with us, but haven't been there yet. If anyone just has a couple of days, the on-off bus is a good way to see the highlights. With extra time, it is worth the train trip out to Montserrat.

We will also be back to Barcelona in May 2009 on the Celebrity Solstice TA, and in November 2009 on the Celebrity Equinox TA. (Yes, we love transatlantic cruises, especially the westbound!) Those will be one day port visits, but I'll check for current info while I am there.

We are leaving for two weeks at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival on Sunday, so I am scrambling to get some projects done right now. But I will have internet access at AKV, and I'll be glad to answer any questions about the ports.

Yes Kathy, I love Scrapbooking and have scrapbooked all my cruises. I even make copies of the menu and add them - shrunk down of course. PM me if you want and I can tell you some great things you can do with vellum, buttons, etc.

How did you get them shrunk down, I have all 15 menus, I asked, from the WB PC repo, can't find a scanner to use that will fit them in one piece. I am thinking I might have to take photos of them and work with it that way. hmmmm

Kimberly, you are so right on the wings from Diversions, they are great to take up to watch that movie on deck 9, lol. I had one drink on the WB PC repo, at the castaway clubhouse the bright lime green choice, omg strong, lol.

I am not much of a drinker, it's so sad, lol.

Anyone else sailing before we cruise in 2010?

Mum and I are sailing with Princess in a few weeks. We are going from Sydney, Australia on a 10 night cruise to Vanuatu and New Caledonia.

Its just too far to go to Disney so I'll just have to suffer with that instead ... ;)

Could we possibly incorporate this into the website? It would be a very helpful tool to have!! :)

MW, love what you have done with the docs folder for your signature.

Stephaine, great additions to the photobucket account. Thanks

Hi All
I am posting from the library while I wait for Marika how is here for a teen bookgroup. Nothing like going to work for other things on your day off;)
Oh--Stephanie hte website owrks form here also:goodvibes
Speaking of hte website--THAT is how I find out hte "real" names of all my DIS friends. The roll call is fantastic for that! In fact, I keep the roll call up (minimized) while I am on the thread at home so I can quickly check who is who if I start to get confused.

OH, yesterday I forgot to post that I am another Southwest fan hoping, HOPING that they start flying internationally.

We tend ot make our own excursions. For Gibraltar we WALKED all the way htorugh town to the cable car which was really fun. We stopped to buy flags for Rio, saw the changing of hte gaurd at town hall (one guard!), saw the cemetary, the old city walls, the cannons, etc Lot's of good stuff we would have missed in a taxi. We did the cable car to the top and explored and tried to keep the apes off of us:lmao: (one used Rio, then Marika then my DMiL as steps to a wall and tore Rio's shirt in the process--he still wears the shirt and comments on the apes every time he does:laughing: ) We spent LOTS of time in St Michael's cave (we were glad we were not with a group as we loved it there and stayed through the commings and goings of 4 groups). I will try to post some photos later on from home. It was very easy to get around Gibraltar on our own.

It was easy for us to do Barcelona also, but I have the advantage that I used to live in Spain and I speak Spanish so I do not know how that would work for others. For us, the highlights of Barcelona were: Sagrada Familia (totally worth paying for a tour), Parque Guell, Spanish Village (made for the world's fair and has mock ups of architecture from all over Spain--we all loved it and the kids really had a blast) and tapas eaten away from tourist areas and just wandering the Gothic Quarter. We hope to get to the Chocolate factory and PIcasso museums in 2010--though a return to Parque Guell is the top priority for all four of us.

Take them to a UPS store or Kinkos and they can do it for you with a color copier. It turns out really nice!!

The wings in Diversions are SOOOOO yummy! I wish I could have a few right now!

I was in Sydney in 2000 and I loved the city! It is beautiful! Have a wonderful cruise!

I personally loved the Farewell to the Caribbean and Masterchef meals

Also loved having cheese plate every night

Cheese plate...my DF will love that! :thumbsup2
