Hello everybody. Booked the WB TA (2 adults and 2 Children) yesterday morning using a dummy res. Room 5018; a short hop, skip and a jump from the kids' clubs. Looking forward to signing up for the roll call. Wish I would have done so for the WB Panama Crossing. Speaking of, does anyone have a large image of the Captain Jack Panama Crossing banner? I would like it for my Panama home video. Looking forward to pirating on the high seas Canadian style! Cheers!

:welcome: Aboard Mate , and yes I have the PC logo avail .. Just PM me with your email addy and I will shoot it over to you , glad to see yet another Pirate

:yay: :woohoo: PJPOOHBEAR booked a CAT 11 for her, DrHug and myself this morning! :dance3: I'm not sure if we are GTY or have an assigned room. Maybe PJ will post. Never been to Europe, so this is exciting and a bit :scared: for us country kids. ;)

Glad to have you and Dr Hug and PJ aboard ... welcome to the crew mates

Hi Everyone.

Booked on to the Westbound cruise with my DGF Gismo1554. She's a disney veteran where as i'm a total newbie but well looking forward to it. Never thought of going on a cruise before let alone a Disney one but from what she has told me and from what i've seen on the boards it looks REAL good, can't wait, just shame its soooo far away.

Anyway just thought i'd say hi :-)

So, I called and added air through DCL today, the prices everyone has been getting just seemed too good to pass up. The airfare was only $1090 pp which seems less than what I have been pricing just from Vegas to Barcelona. The hotel price is insane, but I think it might be nice to stay in some "fancy" hotel since the savings will probably cover the added cost of the hotel.

I was hoping though that someone who has used DCL for air in the past might be able to answer some questions we had about their service etc.

So here goes...

1) Once you are confirmed and booked to a flight, are you able to reserve a specific seat on your flight?

2) Are you able to upgrade from coach to first or business for international flights directly with the carrier?

3) Is Disney pretty good about keeping flights with the same carriers or do they bounce you around from airline to airline in multiple different cities?

4) Has anyone had any problems with their luggage?

and finally, 5) How will ground transfers work once you get to Barcelona since they won't exactly have "Magical Express" there.

We usually like to do everything on our own because we know we can do it right, or we at least have some control over the situation. However, I think in a foreign country it might just be easier to let the experts do it. But, leaving someone else in control leaves me feeling like... Well, like I can't control anything!

What a dilemma! So, any information anyone has about good, or bad experiences would be greatly appreciated!

We will be booking our own air to keep some control. When I called to book the cruise (it was before 8:30 am yesterday) the DCL agent couldn't find any info on the hotels just yet; she couldn't find that they were released yet. Did someone say they were already sold out? The DCL agent didn't seem too concerned about it and told me I had plenty of time and I could check the website at my convenience for hotel info.

When I talked to the cruiseline last night, they had sold out their block of rooms in 4 of the 5 hotels that they have. The only one left was Le Meriden and it was $600/night for 2 adults. I didn't book it!

On the Disney Cruise line website, under the "My Disney Cruise" tab is a section called Travel Resources. They have information there about what hotels they will offer the transfers to if you book your airfare thru Disney.

They are Le Meridien Hotel, Hilton Diagonal Mar, AC Diplomatic, AC Barcelona, and AB Skipper. Hotel prices available now for Sept dates in 2009 on websites such as Travelocity seem to be half of what Disney is charging.

I don't mind paying a small premium, but the prices seem a little high with Disney. I bet that a lot of people who booked the rooms intially will let them go when they see the other prices that are available. So Disney may have space available in a few months.

FYI. There is also another good section on the Disney website that I almost overlooked "Mediterranean Travel Logistics."

1. yes you can through the airline, but just remember you will get your flights pretty late i think 45 days to your cruise might not be that much to pick from.

2. dont know

3. dont know

4.your luggage getting lost has nothing to do with booking through dcl.

5. you will meet with dcl people. you will pick up your own luggage. than go through customs than you will meet more dcl people. than if i remember right you put your luggage with them inside the airport. than you get on the bus and take an hour tour of barcelona. this is what happened last year.

:welcome: Aboard Mate ,

Be sure to be adding the cruise logo banner to your signature otherwise you be risking walkin the plank ..:lmao: :lmao:
