Krisann,

Thanks for the heads up on the sale at Men's Wearhouse. I finally convinced hubby to buy a new suit, so he did the BOGO and got 2 suits with 2 shirts and 2 ties, so we spent a lot more than you did, but he really needed a new one. They will be ready after the alterations on the 16th, so that cuts it close. At least we don't leave until the 17th.

Also, got the boys formal wear mostly taken care of. Still need to get the pants shortened on one. I'm hoping the local cleaners here can do that. Either that, or he will have to grow 2 inches overnight!

Tried to find another dress for me, but no luck. Might try again tomorrow.

So, I finally did some cruise shopping. I hate shopping, so I put it off until the last minute. I wish all of you who liked shopping could do it for me!

We will be spending a week at Kidani Village after the cruise. I read somewhere on this thread that someone else is also staying there.

Jackie

Hey Jackie I'm at AKL for a post trip stay, and i think Paula is too. But i could be wrong about that as i'm working from memory :rotfl:

SW

OK with a little skimming (OK A LOT OF SKIMMING) i'm finally caught up.

I've still got so much to do....

Must make my FE tomorrow :yay:

SW

I am a fellow sufferer!! This time I am making a list of what I plan to wear day by day event by event!! Still is filling two suitcases for me!! What to do about the FE gifts etc. is my next dilemma!! John is all packed. All that is left is to figure out the toiletries and FE gifts.

Lucky John! :goodvibes

I to am a sufferer of that but I am now resolved that if I need it I will just make hubby buy it for me :lmao: Like do I really need all these nylons :scared1: the what if I get a snag, well with the lack of room I will just have to go with the runs :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I, too, hate nylons and worry about them running. Oh well, you and I can have the runny hose on formal night. :rotfl::rotfl:

it is 6 hours

Thank you and I am glad you answered me because there is something I have been meaning to say to you and Steffy. I wish, hope and pray that I have a relationship with my friend Lisa for as long as you two have been friends and what good friends you are. You are a blessing to each other and I just love it. Cannot wait to meet you!

Yes, that's where we went. My friend found nothing and I came out with four bags.....ugh! But they were necessities.....shoes, undies and I found a Pacsafe waist wallet at the VIP luggage store. Now I feel safe. My DH comes home from his trip tomorrow so today was the last of the shopping trips. I want to spend time with him before I leave on Friday morning, have to be at SFO by 4:30 a.m.

We decided last night to definitely go to Rome first. A friend of mine who is Italian booked us a suite at the beautiful Hotel Veneto, right in the heart of the city. He says it is perfecto! I have been to Northern Italy but not to Rome. I am so excited. Then to see Barcelona again will be great and to meet up at the HRC will be exciting. And finally board the Ship.....what could be better for a 60th birthday present????!!!!!!! The only better thing is if my DH could have come.

The Hotel Veneto looks like a lovely place and very centrally located. Last time we were in Rome, we stayed at the Hassler, very nice at the top of the Spanish Steps.[ Rome was a wonderful city for walking. We did all the touristy kind of things with my DD Samantha and her BFF Shawna.

I just checked availability for our cruise, and it looks like we have Cats 11, 10 and 9 available for 2A/2C at the moment.

But by far the most interesting thing I saw when searching the DCL website was the option for a previously unannounced TA cruise, in December 2010 on....the Dream! It doesn't look like something that you can book (perhaps without knowing the secret booking code) but very curious to see it listed out there. Here's a screen shot of what I saw, with the available options highlighted in yellow! (Ignore the dark blue over LA, there is no port selected and I'm not sure why it shows as highlighted.)

Oh my! Very interesting indeed. I wonder if DCL will allow people to said across the Atlantic on the Dream. I would love to ride the Aqua Duck across the Atlantic!!! :cloud9: I doubt I will get the code from DCL anytime soon so I'll wait for my 1/26/11 sailing on the Dream. pirate:

I glad you saved money! It was a great deal - and I have both my hubby and son who can wear stuff (son kinda, we had to tweak things as he wears a 16 in boys and sometimes get smalls in mens) so it really helped me as I wanted white coats and the on board rental only has black - so this was a great deal for us!

Ok we changed our reservation for our short short overnight stay in Amsterdam to the Amsterdam airport Yotel - anyone ever stayed in one?

we just need a place to sleep :)

Thank you very much Sandi. I just don't know what I would do without Stephanie. It was amazing how we could work together for the five years that we did, go out to lunch almost every day and out to dinner every Friday and always have something to talk about.

I have the two rolling duffles packed

One is 49.8 pounds
one is 48.2 pounds

I have all the wristbands separated and sorted by deck/cabin number or by "no cabin number for those I did not have on my spread sheet. They are all packed away in the suitcases!

I have my bug-out bag mostly packed - it is another checked bag for us but I still need to add a few things in it before I can say it is ready.

my porter case is the over flow bag and will be checked.

my carry on is packed except for my pillow and laptop and travel scale.

my purse is packed except for my billfold (still need it this week), checkbook, external hard drive, ipod, cell phone

I feel like I am really getting things done - now just a few loose ends to tie up! Friday is coming soon!

Thanks for letting me share!

Krisann

We stayed in the NH Schiphol the night before we flew out a while back. We were in a wonderful little B&B in town for most of our stay. Sorry, don't know anything about the Yotel. (Is that a shortened version of Youth hOTEL? :scared1:)
