I'm guessing that DCL don't have the experience of Esta like airlines as this is the first cruise taking people into the US from countries requiring Esta acceptance since it has come in properly. We also only have the print out acceptance with the number. As you say we aren't required to show a copy. We will all have to tell DCL, but I bet they want to fight us!!!

I thought it was all supposed to be electronic. When we go through immigration, they swipe our passports and our status should come up.

Yes - but I did wonder if they would have the facility to do that at the port in Barcelona?
When we check in for a flight here in the UK it shows we have filled in the Esta. I read the fines for a carrier are very steep if the passengers don`t have the right documents.

The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is a United States government requirement (mandated by the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007) for participating travelers from Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries arriving by air or sea to complete online the I-94W form (formerly paper-based and filled on arrival by participating VWP citizens) in advance of travel to the United States.

The problem is the acceptance number has no personal details on it & therefore if Disney intend checking the acceptance its going to take longer to check in

Well I only redid the Estas a few weeks ago so I'm not thinking I want to do them again because DCL can't get organised. All we are asked to do are fill out the Esta and be accepted. I haven't had the email from DCL yet, but I will copy and paste the relevant info from Esta telling us what we need, i.e, the number, not a copy of the form. Have you done that?

I guess we can go on our Esta site as if we are going to update it and print out that part, but of course it isn't the full form.

It sounded like the house was ok, just everywhere a mess. Haven't heard about any injuries yet. Very scary.

Yes, I've been thinking about Laura and family today too and hoping they were on their way. What a bad start to their vacation. Hope something is sorted for them soon. I'm just glad their cruise doesn't leave tomorrow.

We received a letter from Disney today ... Tony didn't open it earlier because I was at work and I haven't opened it since I returned because he is still at work. We want to open it together.

The vast majority of Canadians do not need this visa. Here are two quotes from the U.S. State department's website:

Not sure about citizens from Mexico or Bermuda, but suspect it's similar. You should be able to find the information in the same sections of the State Dept. Website.

Bottom line for Canadians: Unless you're an unusual traveler (like a diplomat or importer), No Worries! BUT you definitely need a passport, which you'll need to get into the EU anyway!
