All this chat about pickpockets in Barcelona has made me think back to the only time I have ever been pickpocketed .... you'll never guess where I was .... in Disneyland Paris !! In the preshow for Honey I Shrunk the Audience to be precise !! Now I never expected to experience this inside a Disney Park, but you can never tell. Hopefully none of us will have any negative experiences in Barcelona :wizard::wizard::wizard:

I'm obviously very behind on the board.

I talked to 1 of my daughters teachers last year about it and the Principal (who gave me a little bit of a hard time.) I also e-mailed the truency officer to make sure that I wasn't going to be ticketed when I got back. I explained that my girls are only going into 1st & 3rd grade and that last year they had perfect attendance and that we plan to do some lessons on the ports. She responded that it sounded like a wonderful and educational trip and thanked us for letting her know.

I was soo worried about what she would say and she was the nicest out of everyone about it. :confused3

We talked to both kids schools and neither had a real issue. The vice prnciple did try and tell me that I had to take her... :rotfl: Then at the meet and greet we talked to each teacher that we knew he was assigned to and everyone thought it was a great opportunity. his social studies teacher wasn't too happy - but then after talking to us was really OK about it.

Last year they did tell us that Stephen would need to keep a blog about the trip so that the class could follow along. So, we will both be blogging while on board. I figure that we can get a small package, type it all out ahead of time and then just cut and paste into the blog once on line. We will not be adding photos unless we find free wireless and a good connection somewhere - or the connection on the ship is good.

I think we are lucky. In middle school, there isn't really a ceiling oin missed days of school. But, once the kids are in HS, there is a 8 days and you have to repeat rule. So, this is the last sha-bang for family vacations that are not in the heat of summer for a bit...

Sorry - double post... Guess I should have ignored the gobbledegook error I got... Sheeesh...

That sounds really awful for you Terry! I won't take it personally if you run away from us......

I won't run away, I will just sit a few seats down. I will probably do the "Queen Wave" a lot!!! :lmao:

This sounds awful and you probably picked the worst cruise you could have done for this. We were on the last cruise before the Magic went into dry dock in 2008. While we were on the ship, they tore up and replaced all the carpets, they varnished a lot of the woodwork and started to paint the public areas. There were always some strong chemical smells around.

Corinna

I just hope I can get by those areas fast!!!

Tinker1Bell - that does sound horrible and I promise not to wear anything when I meet you. No problem! I would hate it if you ran away from me.

Yes Sue, you can be proud of your hubby! Sounds like a fun event!!!

You know I had to remark to this!!! You must wear clothes at least!!!!

I will just do the "Queen Wave"

I just hope that the few scents I wear by Bath & Body will not be too strong to anyone else!!!

LOL Terry!!

I hope that the few scents that I wear don't offend! I rarely wear them... Tell me that the DCL shampoo, body wash, etc don't give you headaches!!

Okay, you got me, I am laughing hysterically. :rotfl2:Yes, clothes are a must - I love Bath & Body so nothing offends me like that. Queen Wave is good! :rotfl2:

Just noticed that we have added a country to our website! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We had our first family from Spain register. I havent seen them post on DIS yet, but they have also sent in a photo! Glenn has reached out to them and extended an invitation to join the group here. We hope to see them post soon!! But, in the mean time, Monporma, if you are lurking out there...

:welcome:

Michael, as usual the map is fabulous!! John said to tell you he wishes he had time to do as good as a job as you have done with the maps!!

Kudos to you on a job excellently done!!

Thanks, Noel. My undergrad degree was in Geography, so maps are second nature to me.

Hey you chatty bunch! Hello!

We're back from a small weekend camping trip in our pop-up. I am going to take a lovely bath soon to wash away the weekend's grime but first I thought I'd quickly catch up - ha! 30 pages since we left on Friday!?!

It's been a bad week: hit part of our roof/car port structure as I slowly rolled out pop-up out of the driveway. We had to immediately go purchase and install a wall jack to avoid the carport from coming down. We got to our camping site at 11pm - we still went to avoid disappointing the kids but leaving to go camping at 930 at night was not fun. Now we have to do the real repair of replacing the supporting structure for our carport (which is a major portion of our roof, is all tied in together). Argh.

We also had our trailer battery stolen at some point in the past, and discovered it gone this week. Argh.

I hit my hand at the hospital and a diamond flew out of my ring, and I injured my hand. Ring is currently being fixed. Argh and ow!

I annoyed a co-worker at work severely (we usually get on very well) for something I didn't mean to do, and I'm feeling the strain of our relationship being wounded. EEk.

We had a very annoying bank matter than is ultimately fine, but was as bad as banks usually are, compounded by a rude overseas operator who had a very bad connection and was very frustrating to deal with. We can get back that two hours of our life correcting that problem! Sheesh.

And besides that, work has been unendingly stressful and consuming, and juggling everything seems too darn hard these day.

I keep joking that the cruise is going to be so fantastic, and nature likes a balance, so she's just giving us these petty annoyances ahead of time to right the balance for our trip to be totally fabulous!

I am sooooooo looking forward to meeting all of you so soon! Yay! Sorry to hear about the doggy who ate the fishing line. Poor, silly thing. I hope the surgery all goes well and she heals up very soon.

Ugh, I totally understand. I am not that sever, but notice I am more and more sensitive the older I get. When I go to a department store I literally run through the fragrance section holding my breath. Sadly most of my migranes seem to be triggered by hormones or the weather, which I can't avoid (I am to a point but that may get us into the TMI section).

I have even had the sun get to me. It was the way it was shining in my eyes when we were driving down to WV. I finally had to have hubby drive for me.

I should be grateful the migraines don't get to me like they do to my mom. She has had to go to the ER a few times and get a shot and then she would come home and go to bed for two days.

I am also lucky that red wine does not affect me.

Those scents I just love!!! I will probably wear Pearberry and Sapphire Orange from B&B
