We have a UK£ Starbucks card that works fine in the USA. Have not tried it in Europe though...

From the Starbucks website:

Where can I use my Starbucks Card?

Starbucks Cards are accepted at most Starbucks locations in North America, including airport and grocery locations. Starbucks Cards can also be used interchangeably at most stores in Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Starbucks Cards issued in Greece, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Taiwan and Thailand may only be used in the country from which they are issued.

Sue - your such a STAR. Thank you for all the work you have done to make this such a special cruise for all of us.

I read mention of the "drinking" shirt. I don't remember reading about this shirt but it may have been months and months ago. Can anyone tell me about this shirt? Is it different from the Pirate or MMC shirt we've talked about. Val

Okay - question.....

This is the first time I am participating in a "candy exchange" and a "scrapbook exchange". So once I'm on board, do we just "exchange" these in our fish extenders???

I mean since I'm bringing it, I sure want to make sure I get it out to the right people.

.

Just a reminder to everyone on the SCRAPBOOK EXCHANGE list, we will NOT have an FE so please just leave it in the paper thingy (#7060) or we can arrange a swap.

This time next week: BARCELONA!

Thanks,
Andrea

Its a great feeling tossing your passport into your bag knowing your going to use it!
We are leaving tomorrow headed to Prague before we meet up with everyone in Barcelona.
Safe travel to everyone, see you soon!

Could you please explain how you want us to leave the scrapbook exchange items? I have mine broken into 12 and was expecting to put it into people's FE.

Well if it was me I would take a small plastic bag and hang it on the fish mail hook.

Ivanna Cruz's twin, Anita Cruz (in the pink top), has surfaced. She'll be available for Adventures by You as well. Remember that both of them will be in my FE and to return them shortly after your "excursion" together so others can play, too! Thanks again for taking care of the girls and showing them a good time! :rotfl:

PS: In an effort to reduce laundry and keep them clean all cruise-long, I've slicked them up with a little laminate. ;)

Here is hoping the weather on Wednesday, Sept 22 is the same as next Wednesday in Funchal
Wednesday, Sept 15
Clear. High: 80 °F . Wind SW 6 mph

That's PERFECT weather for me!

It's Here! I leave tomorrow morning early for Rome and then Barcelona!!!!! I am sooooo excited, but also in a state of panic....

Judy, I'm so thrilled for you!!! Have a fantastic time in Rome and Barcelona before we meet you on the Magic! No panicking though! Remember you have 400 of your closest friends around to help out if you forget anything.

Just booked my pre-cruise hair colour and cut for Wednesday ... which will hopefully be a rest and pamper day because I will have EVERYTHING done by then !

:thumbsup2 I think that's the way to go! I want my pre-flight day to be relaxing, too!

Anybody know if there will be a guest talent show on our cruise? Adam (DS10) is playing It's a Small World on the piano right now. It's really getting me in the mood. I can't wait to meet everyone from our small world in 9 days!!

Me neither and I hope I get to hear Adam play.

Can anyone swap a 2 person 8:30 reservation for Palo on Pirate night. :worship: Since they changed the theme nights, We ended in Palo on that night  and I spend weeks putting together a Jack Sparrow pirate costume for the party. Any night other than 11 is ok especially formal nights

Rockin' Bar D is the place to go upon boarding to get this sorted.

So as you guys know I work nights, although I get to sleep around 5-6 hours if Im lucky, last night I went to bed with a sore throat, this am I woke up feeling like yuk, total full on cold....head,nose and I am so tired, been in bed all day, it sucks... now I have the dreaded D as well.
Dogs are doing my my head wanted walked and I cant go 10 mins radius of the toilet.:confused3
Better this week than next, but better not at all thankyou, and the worst is still to come cause I can promise you Len will catch it;)

Feel better Lynne! :hug::flower3:

Our experience with the domestic carriers in the UK and Europe is not only do they check size but they weigh the carry ons.

I was very worried about this for our flight, and made Glenn call last night and confirm. Delta = no weight restrictions for our carry on and personal bag!!

Okay - question.....

This is the first time I am participating in a "candy exchange" and a "scrapbook exchange". So once I'm on board, do we just "exchange" these in our fish extenders???

.

That was my understanding, and if there wasn't a FE, the you leave it in the fish (which is a letter holder)

It's Here! I leave tomorrow morning early for Rome and then Barcelona!!!!! I am sooooo excited, but also in a state of panic. My packing is done except my carry on which I just kept throwing items in a bag as I ran across them. Now I'm not sure all those items will fit.

So today I walk 3 miles, go for a mani/pedi and then a dental appointment. Why did I think I would have time for these today???? Oh well, today is it, if it doesn't get done then it's too bad. May not have time to get back on the board today so I'll say goodbye for now until we meet in Barcelona. I wish everyone a safe journey!

Judy :banana::banana::banana:

have a great trip Judy!

Just booked my pre-cruise hair colour and cut for Wednesday ... which will hopefully be a rest and pamper day because I will have EVERYTHING done by then !

Wednesday is my get pampered day! And from the looks of my schedule once onboard I will need it!

Questions I have.

What are you putting down for place you are going to in Spain to get through customs.

I plan on listing the Disney Magic!

Candy exchange - is it one chocolate bar per room or the amount of people?

I can't remember - Paula was organizing. I did the mini bars, and did 2 kinds per bag with 2 little bars of each kind for 4 pieces per bag. But - Paulatold me I went overboard. However, I had them bagged up already so left them as is so I wasn't tempted to eat the extras...

Internationals picking up their Dis Pirate shirts. Have we figured out where? Should I send hubby to a room to get ours? I will be busy decorating my door.

I would like to hand them all out at the HRC meet on Friday evening. If you will not be there I will bring to the meet at 3pm on Saturday.

Sue - your such a STAR. Thank you for all the work you have done to make this such a special cruise for all of us.

You are most welcome!

The drink up me hearties shirt has the same front as the cruise shirt but the back has a wheres the rum DISign on it! I believe it is posted on the website.

Cynthia - have a wonderful, safe trip - see you soon!

Did someone say that this cruise was supposed to be a vacation? I have scheduled Glenn and I for so much I may need 2 weeks to recover! LOL! I didn't realize it until I keyed it all into a spreadsheet and looked it over. Nothing seemed huge... Tastings were the most of it, but when I added in SPA, tours, other seminars, tours, gatherings - I am astounded!

Nope we do not arrive until Sat. You could also call our room 6000 so hubby can go to yours. Kind of like to have the shirt on before we go and not have to put in on over top. :):thumbsup2 If not that is ok too

so I went to a different store today to get shapewear and I was successful. Not perfect, but comfortable. As it happens the store has a 20% off everything day, so i browsed the evening wear and actually tried one on. It was beautiful and I felt so good. But it would have needed shortening, and not a simple job either, so no time.
Anyway I looked in another department and they had one style in 2 colours slightly cheaper to start off with, and wow, they were great, and easy to shorted. so I picked one up. Had to ask the staff member and other customers which colour to choose. Now, if I wear my highest heels I can get away without shortening it, but they are black and the dress is blue. However, unless I quickly see some gold or silver very high sandals, they will have to do now as I don't have that long left, nor much money!!!;):lmao: I think silver would look best, but I already have a gold cover up and that would save me buying yet something else:rolleyes1.
I'm feeling so much better now!!! John thinks I look great too and that is what matters.

Oh that sounds good Marilyn. I bet it looks gorgeous,

Dawn

So.....Dennis got his new CPAP today and we were told that this one would come with a battery for travel. It did not, so I called Swiss Air to find out 1)if there is a place to plug in either electric or 12 volt and 2) if this will count as his one allowed carryon. Well, does not count as his carry on, yay for that! But, they will not allow him to use it onboard unless he has a medical form signed by his provider. He gets his care from the VA (Department of Veterans Affairs) and there is no way in Sam's Hill that we can get a form signed, faxed to Swiss Air and their approval faxed back to us in one day. :sad2: So, he said heck with it....heck, yes he said heck!! :lmao::rotfl2: He will just get some breath right strips and try to doze as much as he can. I think he will be very tired when we arrive on Thursday afternoon. I am sure I will let him grab an hour or 2 nap regardless of the jet lag issues otherwise I am sure he will fall asleep during dinner or worse get sick.:rolleyes:

Hi everyone!!!!! :wave2:

Just popping in and saying hello! Can't believe that the time is drawing so near. It seems like I booked this trip sooo long ago. After many family dramas coming and going things seemed to have just about come round right for our trip.

Looking forward to meeting you all onboard our beloved Magic!!!!!! :goodvibes

See ya real soon! :mickeyjum

Must all be incredibly worrying :sad2:

On a lighter note......

I've just realised what a ridiculous amount of toiletries/meds I have sorted out to take........and that's not everything yet!

One question...............

......How much sun tan lotion does everyone plan to take? :rolleyes1

First, you might want to PM John Halkias as he travels with a CPAP all the time and see how he deals with traveling with the device.

When I went to the Swiss Air site it just said you had to do the following:
SWISS AIR MEDICAL CERTIFICATES
ON THE SAFE SIDE
In the following cases, SWISS recommends that travellers take along and present a medical certificate for their own safety or due to valid security regulations
Cardiac pacemakers or implanted metal parts (artificial joints, metal fixtures for fractures) - before passing the security check.
Diabetics and persons with chronic diseases requiring medication (certificate stating the diagnosis and required medication).
Destination countries requiring certain vaccinations (inoculation and vaccination record).
Syringes carried for medical reasons.

I can't imagine the CPAP qualifies for a Incad which is for someone who has a severe problem. If I remember correctly which says as follows:

Depending on the degree of impairment, SWISS may require an INCAD form. This form, issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), contains the data necessary for the organisation of the journey and information from the treating physician that may be relevant for SWISS.

If they are demanding an INCAD, couldn't you get your provider to fax the form to Swiss air directly?
