I'M PACKING !!! Everything is laid out in the boat and I'm packing. I can't go to bed tonight until it's done, so here goes....... I started freaking out today as I was doing five loads of laundry in the boat house and my friend stopped by with refreshments, it was soooo blooming hot! That drink saved me today. Then she asked if I wanted to stop our morning walks until after the cruise, and I said no way....I need that exercise. That was sweet of her though.

I started to copy the tshirt logos onto transfer paper tonight and it won't print because they are bigger than the paper. If anyone has done this I would appreciate advise. If I can't get it to work tomorrow I will copy them on a flashdrive and go to Kinkos.

Okay, if that is all that goes wrong then it is minor. I feel bad about stressing and complaining when others on this board are having such a horrible time. I'm thinking and praying for you all.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend !!! It's quiet in the marina because everyone took there boats to Half Moon Bay, so I'll just keep packing and keep stressing.

Thanks, Noel, for the response. It was helpful. I'll get those done this weekend also.

Judy

I mean, really? Seriously? I played by their rules and am finding out that it really didn't matter... UUGH! Hope to post something more positive on Tuesday... I am not giving up, just letting you all know where we are with the tasting seminars.

Come on DCL - get your act together!!!

I found when we sailed in the Walt in 2007 that the on board concierge was much more helpful and responsive that the land concierge who took many days to get back to me. The things that the land concierge said were not possible "magically" were taken care of once we were on board.

Just my own experience.

I ordered out tee shirts from Vistaprint who doesn't seem to have a problem printing Disney Logo's.

You are welcome!! Too funny you speak about Half Moon Bay since we are just over the hill from Half Moon Bay. We use to fly from San Jose for lunch to the old Shore Bird restaurant.
The only other person who I know besides our friends who sailed around the world was a friend who was an artist named Marty Lindquist. Many years ago, Marty lived on his sailboat in Pete's Harborin Redwood City.

In the last month, I've only been home a handful of days and any free time was spent doing laundry and packing for the next trip. Andrea

I've also been travelling almost non-stop for work recently, and the time at home has been spent getting ready for the next trip, or getting the kids ready to start school, or getting all the work done that I didn't get done while I was travelling. Hopefully no more trips between now and when we leave for Barcelona, though there is one short trip that may come up next week.

Top of the Rock to St. Michael's Cave: 900 meters
St. Michael's Cave to Apes' Den: 750 meters
Apes' Den to Great Siege Tunnels: 1500 meters
Great Siege Tunnels to Moorish Castle (Tower of Homage): 600 meters (it looks like less but there are a couple of switchbacks)

So for those of us who are metrically challenged, what does this mean?

Thanks all for your concern, prayers and pixie dust!

We actually live in Christchurch so are right in the middle of it, we are considering ourselves terribly fortunate that we have no damage other than some broken items in the kitchen - mugs, casserole dishes etc.

Glad to hear you're okay!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

They are on and in first class!!!!!!!

Yea!

And I have one more question. Just to not offend anybody, because we are European and quite ... "liberal"...
Americans are not "offended" by me changing his diapers right at the pool? Are they? I mean... seriously... ;)

They shouldn't be. Though if he's wearing diapers (even swim diapers), he can't go in any of the pools on the ship. There is the splash area by the Mickey Pool for the diaper set to splash about in.

Glad you are ok Paula.

Talking about houses shaking we had a bit of that here last night.

The UPS plane that crashed in dubai last night went down about 800m from our house. It want straight over the top of our place about 5 seconds before impact.

we heard it but didn't see it - however many other families around us also saw it and saw the flash of the impact. What makes that even worse is we are a compound of airline staff and most of the kids who saw it have dads who are pilots so it has really unnerved them.

It was so lucky that it was a cargo plane so only two lives were lost and that it was a UPS plane with well trained pilots and well maintained equipment so they were able to maintain control long enough to get past our houses and crash into the desert. If they had gone down just five seconds earlier then it would of been a very different outcome.

The pilots were heros to be able to do that. Our thoughts are with their families. R.I.P.

My family always make fun of me. My sister got her first grey hair at 30 I got mine at 15! Now my streaks have gone from grey to silver and Dan keeps finding them everywhere! Honestly they are proper silver now mixed in with dark brown so its quite odd!

I've had gray hair since I was in my early 20's. Dave also finds my gray hairs and enjoys pointing them out to me... LOL!!!

Hello Everyone, I am FashionistaGirl, HoagiePie's daughter. I finally was able to get accepted into the boards!! Yeah:banana::banana::banana:

Hi!!!! :yay:

At DCL that is... Watchout, major vent ahead... Feel free to press the page down key now...

How many months ago did we reach out to them for tastings? 4. What was I told? Not a problem, send me the lists in late July. What happens? I send the lists only to learn that my contact is on vacation for 2 weeks!
Now here we are, 11 days until we fly out and I still have nothing confirmed. DCL stateside says the ship is working on it. I still have nothing more than what I shared about not being able to fill the standard DCL seminars wtih DIS people... So, I am now writing to DCL DAILY! and what did I learn today? That my main contact is sailing on the last MED trip - so she is going to be on the ship!! And we still have nothing.

So, today I wrote her back and asked if this was going to happen and the reply was that the ship has been notified and is tryingto fit us in. So, I am reaching out to the concierge on Tuesday to see if she can help me out.

I did finally tell them that we are a highly organized and motivated group of experienced DCL passengers. I shared the web site (which they thought was great!) and I also mentioned that I was preparred to board and go directly to GS with my lists and take every available ticket there was for each event we were interested in, and get everyones tickets.

I mean, really? Seriously? I played by their rules and am finding out that it really didn't matter... UUGH! Hope to post something more positive on Tuesday... I am not giving up, just letting you all know where we are with the tasting seminars.

Come on DCL - get your act together!!!
All I can say is, "YOU GO SUE!"

There is a minor league baseball team in Allentown and I went to my first game tonight with my sister. It was so much fun! The team is called the Iron Pigs and there was a race between Ham Bone, Chris P. Bacon, and Hot Diggity to homeplate. It was really funny. Hot Diggity pushed Ham Bone over so Chris P. Bacon won! LOL!!!

Tomorrow I'm making some magic at the Disney Store! Only one more Saturday after this until we get on the Magic! :yay:

Paula, I know I posted on your FB, but I'm so glad that you are OK.

Okay, it's official.....I have to check two bags. Darn it, anyway, I did not want to do that. But three weeks with formal wear, costumes, and lots of fun stuff, there is just no way it will fit in. I thought I had it all packed and looked up and saw my formal wear hanging up. Then I realized I was missing a skirt, unpacked my bag and it's not there! There are not too many places to look on the boat, where is it? I even went outside to see if it was floating in the water. hahaha Like it would still be by the boat if I had dropped it six hours ago!
I have packed for a month before in a carry on, why is this so hard?????? :confused3

So I have a question - please. You can only check two bags with DCL when you arrive at the ship - and have a carry on. Can your carry on be a rolling bag (14x9x22) or does it have to be like a large tote? I realize I have to keep it with me for several hours but does it matter the size? What are you all doing that have the FE gifts and the like? Are you just not bringing many other clothes. Now that's a thought....have all your costumes, formal wear and fun stuff and just one outfit for the rest of the days!!!!!

Thanks for the input :dance3: Gotta go to bed....gotta go to bed....quit stressing....quit stressing.....

Oh no......I just realized I didn't pack underwear! Okay - it's time to give up and just go to bed. Tomorrow IS another day!

Michelle ... I really can't believe how close you were. What a nightmare. It must have been absolutely terrifying. I am so relieved as it could have been quite a different story, like you say. I was watching this on the news and was thinking about how everytime we have a flight planned there is always some sort of air disaster a few weeks before, just to help my pre-flight nerves :scared1::scared1::scared1: . However I had no idea one of our group would be so affected. I hope you are all coping ok and it hasn't upset the children too much. Sending :hug:

Now with Laura's hurricane, Paula's earthquake and Michelle's flight crash we really don't need any more disasters before we go .... please :scared1: They say things come in 3's so that should be it.

:hug::hug::hug::hug: to everyone, just because ........

Of course, you don't have to go to all of the sites, only the ones that interest you.

This is great Micheal .. really shows the lie of the land. I must remember to print off all of your maps. They are really useful :thumbsup2

Hello Everyone, I am FashionistaGirl, HoagiePie's daughter. I finally was able to get accepted into the boards!! Yeah:banana::banana::banana:

HI and welcome! Glad you finally got in :thumbsup2

Thanks all for your concern, prayers and pixie dust!

We actually live in Christchurch so are right in the middle of it, we are considering ourselves terribly fortunate that we have no damage other than some broken items in the kitchen - mugs, casserole dishes etc.

Other parts of the city are not so lucky, I have two friends with their chimney's now in their homes. Robert's Mum has her neighbors chimney on her lawn - it just missed the house.

We are still having massive aftershocks and tremors nearly 8 hours later and this could go on for days if not weeks.

A state of emergency has been declared and the city is off limits as many buildings are damaged majorly. I think the airport is still closed but they are hoping to open it soon. They might have to evacuate some neighbourhoods soon though so its not over yet.

Luckily with it happening at 4.30am, there were few people out and about - it would have been much worse if it happened 12 hours earlier when people were in the city on a Friday afternoon!

On the bright side, its a gorgeous day and we have power to our home - much of the city is still without. Water could be an issue in the next few days though!

Oh Paula .. how terrifying and what a nightmare. I am just so pleased that you and your family and friends are all safe. Sending :hug:

Well, I'm pretty sure that this is my official LAST POST on this thread before I see all of you on the 18th (and some of you on the 8th)!!
Erik, your probably already gone, but have fabulous time, see you in a couple of weeks!

Connie asked me to post a picture she took of our finished lanyard pin on the board.

Love it, Awesome :thumbsup2

I first heard Cool Beans when I started working at TGI Fridays wayyyyy back when. I use it all the time. That and Yippie Skippie!!!

I always say 'cool bananas' and 'groovy'! ;)

Busy day here - it is my birthday! 51 years old, how did that happen
 Happy Birthday

For those of us going on the Tour to Virgin Gorda, it says Virgin Gorda did not sustain major damage.

Yay, That's us, I am really looking forward to Virgin Gorda :)

Needless to say, this week has totally SUCKED as Hayley very eloquently put it.

I am not usually known for my eloquence :lmao:, I say it as it is, good bad and ugly. But seriously, you have had a few really sucky weeks, you really deserve this vacation, not long now, things can only get better.

Yes! Come on you other lurkers - jump in now and fill in some of the gaps!

Noooooooo! I can't keep up, Just joking, all you lurkers are running out of time to get to know us wonderful people! :rotfl:

Disney Cruise Line>>>>>>>>> Minnie Mouse doesn’t go on a trip without her polka-dot dress and Captain Hook can’t leave home without his hook. What’s your “must have” item when sailing on Disney Cruise Line?

I've never sailed, But for travelling in general, I have to say my Visa!!! ;)

Just did a check of available categories and found a slew of cabins available.

Cat 12, 11, 8 and 7 are available but GTY
Cat 10 had 8 cabins to choose from, all on deck 1
Cat 9 had 3 cabins to choose from, all on deck 2

Don't have time now, but might make another call later today to try and move my cabin. They probably won't be able to since cat 11s are GTY, but hey, its worth a shot at least for the amusement factor to see what answer I would get as to why they couldn't move me.

Very interesting, Good luck! :goodvibes

The best footwear for the Baths are sturdy water shoes that fit tight to your foot (e.g., Lands End with toggle); nothing slippery or loose on your foot like flip-flops.
Can you go barefoot through the water? We were planning on croc's and then barefoot through to the beach? :confused3

They are on and in first class!!!!!!!

Fabulous, I was so worried, that's the thing with being asleep while you guys are chatting away, I just have to keep reading to get the outcome. Glad they are on their way...and in style!!!!

Hello Everyone, I am FashionistaGirl, HoagiePie's daughter. I finally was able to get accepted into the boards!!

Hi Abby!!! :welcome: Love your Dis name! :goodvibes

Thanks all for your concern, prayers and pixie dust!

Glad you are OK Paula, Just what you needed 2 weeks out, huh? :rolleyes1

We have tons to do this weekend for the house. We are pretty much packed and weighed (and we are good there I think...), so next weekend will be crunch time for us on that front.
Don't even start me on weight limit's!!!! They are crap!!!! We are trying to keep it to 4 suitcases, and 4 cabin bags. I am really struggling!!! Every bag is right on the limit! And I've had to cut so much stuff! I will be washing ..... alot!!!! :upsidedow

LOVE my D.O.G.
Always love m D.O.G.
Naught noodle,e ating rubbish...
Just had a letter from Disney telling us that we need to bring with us the ESTA application response as a record of our application number and to confirm our status.

No problem with that but the application response we have from ESTA only has the application number on it & the expiration date on it, but no details about who it relates to.

Is that OK ?

The application response also states that you are not required to present a copy of your authorization in order to travel & therefore why is Disney asking for it.?
YES< I mean, the usa government makes the rules, not disney.. Ive got my number and that will just HAVE to be enough.

My Ipod...so I don't have to hear the crappy music while laying out by the adult pool!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Paul
lol, It great music they play by the pool:lmao:
It is also our weekend to do a trial run of everything we are going to pack and I am also STRESSED. We then have to wear the stuff that is in the suitcase for the next 10 days and make sure it gets washed and repacked. (My DD says we can all just wear our pjs for the next week.)

I keep looking at our suitcases that are layed out (we are trying to take 1 med. suitcase apiece which will give us 4 suitcases) and can't figure how I am going to get everything I want into these tiny suitcases. Oh well, we may just be wearing the same thing over and over again for 14 days. I want to get this part of the travel process done and over with so I can move on to the fun trip part.

See ya in in 2 weeks and few hours.
:worship:I cant wait to pack, NOT

Sue, dont worry, I mean even if it doesnt come off, it not exactly your fault, dont stress or worry over it.... We can have our very own personal tastings:banana:

That is scary and sad.

This packing thing is just not happening for me, I have everything I NEED out, and it just won't fit, It's not the space, It's the weight! I have my luggage scales and my kitchen scales in the spare room trying to make it work!
I have 5kg's of just Tim Tams, then 8kg's of Bella's sweet bag's, plus who know how much in Caramello Koala's for the candy swap, FE's and bags and bags of extra's for friends and CM's!!! Add to that my FE's and random gifts, Disney pins, kids activities, etc.....BUT.....The good news is most of that stuff won't be my problem a couple of days after we board the ship......it will be yours, Bahahahahaha, most of it is FE's and gifts, Bahahahahah!!!!
I don't have any room for clothes, what's that old saying? Less is more, well that is going to be my motto when dressing everyday :rotfl: It's all worth it so I get to shop when we get to America!!! YAY!!!

OH, and I bought a bikini this week, I really should have had a few drinks before I went, those mirrors are just plain scary! Anyhoo, I bought one, so no laughing, I know it's a car wreck, just keep moving :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Those pilots are definitely heroes. Without their skill, there could have been a huge loss of life - how terribly sad for their families though :sad2:

A very frightening experience for everyone though.

Thank goodness!

We are sleeping in our living room tonight - we have setup the couches near the table for safety and are having a "sleep over" - dogs included. Its just simply too unnerving to be even thinking about going to bed. There is comfort in sitting up with a blanket instead.

We are having lots of after shocks and have had more than 20 today that have been over 4 on the richter scale. Its quite simply terrifying and we are all a bunch of nervous wrecks.

The after shocks are varying from gentle swaying which you can barely feel to jolts like someone has just picked up the house and dropped it - its surprisingly noisy too and sometimes you just hear or feel tremors.
