OK, some seriuos skimming and I am at page 193.... Hopefully this thread will go to 300 as that is our norm, and part 10 will carry us through until everyone is Barcelona bound!!
What with Laura & the storm....Paula and the earthquake......I'm beginning to dread what may happen when we come to fly out!
I have been having nightmares for a few days... Everything from getting sick onboard and having to stay in the cabin for 2 weeks, to haveing to leave the ship... So, I am only thinking positive now!!
We will all get on our flights, we will all get to the ship, we will all have a fantastic time!
And we were worried about the volcanic ash

Lets just hope that mother nature calms down so that we can all get to Barcelona and enjoy our cruise!!!
Mother Nature needs a vacation!!!
Oh no ... poor Paula. I hope she is ok and all her friends and family are ok. What a worry
Poor Laura ... I have been thinking about her today when in work. I hope she makes it to Spain real soon. She must be so frustrated
It sounded like the house was ok, just everywhere a mess. Haven't heard about any injuries yet. Very scary.
Yes, I've been thinking about Laura and family today too and hoping they were on their way. What a bad start to their vacation. Hope something is sorted for them soon. I'm just glad their cruise doesn't leave tomorrow.
I can't believe what a day it has been for our DIS bretheren!
Ken and Andrew in first class....Finally headed to Barcelona!!!!
WAHOO!!!! So glad to hear this!!!!
Thanks all for your concern, prayers and pixie dust!
We actually live in Christchurch so are right in the middle of it, we are considering ourselves terribly fortunate that we have no damage other than some broken items in the kitchen - mugs, casserole dishes etc.
Other parts of the city are not so lucky, I have two friends with their chimney's now in their homes. Robert's Mum has her neighbors chimney on her lawn - it just missed the house.
We are still having massive aftershocks and tremors nearly 8 hours later and this could go on for days if not weeks.
A state of emergency has been declared and the city is off limits as many buildings are damaged majorly. I think the airport is still closed but they are hoping to open it soon. They might have to evacuate some neighbourhoods soon though so its not over yet.
Luckily with it happening at 4.30am, there were few people out and about - it would have been much worse if it happened 12 hours earlier when people were in the city on a Friday afternoon!
On the bright side, its a gorgeous day and we have power to our home - much of the city is still without. Water could be an issue in the next few days though!
Paula - so glad that you, Robert and Marian are all OK. Sending P&PD your way!!

too!!
Welcome!!
My DH keeps telling me, remember Noel, we are going on VACATION!!! I have schedule a mani/pedi for the two of us the morning of the 13th so I can decompress!!
We will be having our stressful weekend this weekend as we do the final packing. I don't care how wrinkled things get, I just want to get them into the suitcase and weighed!!
I have a mani pedi scheduled for 10 am the day we leave. So, at 9:45 I am trying to turn it all over to Glenn. But, realistically, by then we should be completely packed, with bags weighed and ready to go at the front door. I figure I am out for 2 hours, so Glenn can rest and relax (NOT!) I fear that he will be doing all the last minute stuff around the house. At 1:00 we head to the elementary and middle school which are luckily right next door to each other. We grab the kids, and head home. last minute check of paperwork, and then the limo arrives at 2. Its a 1-1.5 hour trio to the airport, so we will get there between 3 and 3:30 for our 5:55 flight. Once we get there, I will feel so much better!!
We have tons to do this weekend for the house. We are pretty much packed and weighed (and we are good there I think...), so next weekend will be crunch time for us on that front.
Phew! I feel the need for a vacation!!
