According to the ferry booking agent, the cruise ships and the ferry share the same port. The actual address is on Waterport, which is the primary road from the port to the town.

Update: the specific location of the ferry dock is on the north side of the coach park. See my map from a couple of posts back.

Hello Everyone, I am FashionistaGirl, HoagiePie's daughter. I finally was able to get accepted into the boards!! Yeah:banana::banana::banana:

Hi! Looking forward to meeting you in Atlanta prior to our flight to Barcelona.

In Gibraltar the post office is at 104 Main Street. The cost for mailing a postcard to the US is 51 pence.

Thanks. Now, just need to grab some pence on board, as I heard the post office won't take Euros. Also, I have to figure out where 104 Main Street is, unless you can direct me there!

How cool!!! Welcome to the party!!

Thanks all for your concern, prayers and pixie dust!

We actually live in Christchurch so are right in the middle of it, we are considering ourselves terribly fortunate that we have no damage other than some broken items in the kitchen - mugs, casserole dishes etc.

Other parts of the city are not so lucky, I have two friends with their chimney's now in their homes. Robert's Mum has her neighbors chimney on her lawn - it just missed the house.

We are still having massive aftershocks and tremors nearly 8 hours later and this could go on for days if not weeks.

A state of emergency has been declared and the city is off limits as many buildings are damaged majorly. I think the airport is still closed but they are hoping to open it soon. They might have to evacuate some neighbourhoods soon though so its not over yet.

Luckily with it happening at 4.30am, there were few people out and about - it would have been much worse if it happened 12 hours earlier when people were in the city on a Friday afternoon!

On the bright side, its a gorgeous day and we have power to our home - much of the city is still without. Water could be an issue in the next few days though!

I think you could use a looooong cruise! Hopefully things will get back to semi-normal as soon as possible for everyone. Glad to hear only minor damage for you.

Busy day here - it is my birthday! 51 years old, how did that happen :scared1:

Happy birthday!!!

We're right behind you datewise (our anniversary was yesterday, Sept. 1) and one year ahead of you at 37 years. I just can't believe I found DH; he is a wonderful man :lovestruc:hug:.
...
Did you mean knickers? I kind of had to laugh at the magic knockers. To us Americans "knockers" is another term for female upper parts...why? I have no idea.

Happy Anniversary!!

Oh my... Magic knockers... Not sure I would want those... :lmao:

Safe travels to those going on the B2B and leaving us! Does this mean the number of posts will decrease?

Knowing us, um, no... Not fewer...

I've missed all of you! :grouphug:
...
Chat with you all in a couple of days. It will be so nice to be around happy thoughts and smiles with you guys!

Kimberly!!! Ive been thinking of you, and missing you around here (not that I have been here...). Thought of you durring the game last night as well... Hang in there, it may never make sense, but the pain lessens and the memories of the good times pervail.:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Glad to see you're okay Paula. What a mess.:hug::hug:

OK - about 10 more pages to get through... I need work to calm down,.. Honestly there used to be days that I could just sit and read, post, read moe... Now, not so much...

Maybe some of us lurkers will post more often to take up the slack!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Paul

What slack??? But no more lurking!!! Time to speak up!!!

I AM HERE I AM HERE! I AM HERE!

And I will be packing tiaras and boas!

Hi Connie!!

LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED

Yes, please!!!

Then last night my eagle eye Mum noticed that a swirly thing was falling off the new purple dress (thats what happens when you have a seamstress mum) normally I would just sew it but it was 130 quid so I am not messing with it, going to swap it today hopefully they will have another one....
Tell my my little cruise peeps.why is everything a hassle? :upsidedow

I need this holiday, :cool2:

Oh - hope that they have a dress you can exchange for!

Im with you - I NEED this holiday too!!

I never get the multi-quote button. I thought I was the only one. I stand corrected, I did get it once when I didn't need it! Why is that, do you know?

Sounds like pixie dust... Everyone wants it, not everyone gets it...:rotfl2:

I know exactly what you mean! 2 weeks from right now I'll be in complete panic mode doing the final packing before my flight. We have to leave for the airport around 3:00pm so this will be the worst part of the day for me! Can't believe we booked this almost 2 years ago. It just seems so sureal!

Come the 13th I will be a nut case. I will check, re check and check bags agin... Weights, whats in them the works. The day we leave I will be a stress monster. I just hope that DH and the kiddos forgive me!!

Hi all,

Lauren and I leave for London on Monday!! :cool1: Looks like it will be raining during our entire stay. :sad2: Can any of you Londoners and UK residents help me with a little cloud clearing? :goodvibes Thanks in advance!! :thumbsup2

If it does rain, we are not going to let it ruin our visit!!

Daniel

I have a co worker that worked in our Stokenchurch office for about 4 years. I asked her about the weather and she told me it was LONDONING...

Fingers crossed that you get a little sun!!

OK - onto the next few pages...

Thanks. I'm thinking I might be able to get some postcards and stamps at Morrison's, too. I just won't promise postcards to anyone, so if I don't manage to do it no one will be disappointed.

I thought that, too. I couldn't confirm it on the Morrison's web site, though - it's woefully inadequate.

We will be having our stressful weekend this weekend as we do the final packing. I don't care how wrinkled things get, I just want to get them into the suitcase and weighed!!

It is also our weekend to do a trial run of everything we are going to pack and I am also STRESSED. We then have to wear the stuff that is in the suitcase for the next 10 days and make sure it gets washed and repacked. (My DD says we can all just wear our pjs for the next week.)

I keep looking at our suitcases that are layed out (we are trying to take 1 med. suitcase apiece which will give us 4 suitcases) and can't figure how I am going to get everything I want into these tiny suitcases. Oh well, we may just be wearing the same thing over and over again for 14 days. I want to get this part of the travel process done and over with so I can move on to the fun trip part.

See ya in in 2 weeks and few hours.

Have a nice weekend everyone! Let's pray for no more hurricanes, earthquakes or other disasters...

In the last month, I've only been home a handful of days and any free time was spent doing laundry and packing for the next trip. We're off to Massachusetts in the morning to drop my son off at college. It's an eight hour drive each way so I have plenty of time to make lists of all the things I still need to do for the cruise.

Back Tuesday evening and then I will FINALLY concentrate on this cruise--for SEVEN whole days before we leave on the 15th. Good thing I concentrate well under pressure (even though I do get a bit grumpy; that's when Greg just stands back).

It's REALLY close now...:yay:

Andrea

OK, some seriuos skimming and I am at page 193.... Hopefully this thread will go to 300 as that is our norm, and part 10 will carry us through until everyone is Barcelona bound!!

What with Laura & the storm....Paula and the earthquake......I'm beginning to dread what may happen when we come to fly out!:scared1:

I have been having nightmares for a few days... Everything from getting sick onboard and having to stay in the cabin for 2 weeks, to haveing to leave the ship... So, I am only thinking positive now!!

We will all get on our flights, we will all get to the ship, we will all have a fantastic time!

And we were worried about the volcanic ash :headache: Lets just hope that mother nature calms down so that we can all get to Barcelona and enjoy our cruise!!!

Mother Nature needs a vacation!!!

Oh no ... poor Paula. I hope she is ok and all her friends and family are ok. What a worry :scared1:

Poor Laura ... I have been thinking about her today when in work. I hope she makes it to Spain real soon. She must be so frustrated

It sounded like the house was ok, just everywhere a mess. Haven't heard about any injuries yet. Very scary.

Yes, I've been thinking about Laura and family today too and hoping they were on their way. What a bad start to their vacation. Hope something is sorted for them soon. I'm just glad their cruise doesn't leave tomorrow.:scared1:

I can't believe what a day it has been for our DIS bretheren!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

They are on and in first class!!!!!!!

KenandAndrew.jpg

Ken and Andrew in first class....Finally headed to Barcelona!!!!

WAHOO!!!! So glad to hear this!!!!

Thanks all for your concern, prayers and pixie dust!

Welcome!!

I have a mani pedi scheduled for 10 am the day we leave. So, at 9:45 I am trying to turn it all over to Glenn. But, realistically, by then we should be completely packed, with bags weighed and ready to go at the front door. I figure I am out for 2 hours, so Glenn can rest and relax (NOT!) I fear that he will be doing all the last minute stuff around the house. At 1:00 we head to the elementary and middle school which are luckily right next door to each other. We grab the kids, and head home. last minute check of paperwork, and then the limo arrives at 2. Its a 1-1.5 hour trio to the airport, so we will get there between 3 and 3:30 for our 5:55 flight. Once we get there, I will feel so much better!!

We have tons to do this weekend for the house. We are pretty much packed and weighed (and we are good there I think...), so next weekend will be crunch time for us on that front.

Phew! I feel the need for a vacation!!

Happy Anniversary!!

Thanks, Sue!

My strategy, exactly! Reminder to me: make a list of all the folks I'd like to send a postcard to.

At DCL that is... Watchout, major vent ahead... Feel free to press the page down key now...

How many months ago did we reach out to them for tastings? 4. What was I told? Not a problem, send me the lists in late July. What happens? I send the lists only to learn that my contact is on vacation for 2 weeks!
Now here we are, 11 days until we fly out and I still have nothing confirmed. DCL stateside says the ship is working on it. I still have nothing more than what I shared about not being able to fill the standard DCL seminars wtih DIS people... So, I am now writing to DCL DAILY! and what did I learn today? That my main contact is sailing on the last MED trip - so she is going to be on the ship!! And we still have nothing.

So, today I wrote her back and asked if this was going to happen and the reply was that the ship has been notified and is tryingto fit us in. So, I am reaching out to the concierge on Tuesday to see if she can help me out.

I did finally tell them that we are a highly organized and motivated group of experienced DCL passengers. I shared the web site (which they thought was great!) and I also mentioned that I was preparred to board and go directly to GS with my lists and take every available ticket there was for each event we were interested in, and get everyones tickets.

I mean, really? Seriously? I played by their rules and am finding out that it really didn't matter... UUGH! Hope to post something more positive on Tuesday... I am not giving up, just letting you all know where we are with the tasting seminars.

Come on DCL - get your act together!!!
