Hi Tara, welcome. I am Hayley, travelling with DH, and 2 DD's 8 & 9, but I am hoping to be childfree for a lot of the time at sea. Fingers crossed the girls like the kids club?

My husband and I are hoping for the same thing. We are traveling with our 2 DD's 6 & 7 and have already started talking up the kids club. This will be their 2nd cruise so they have an idea. We can try and hook the kids up at the Dis meet.

I looked at the map as we are also staying at Le Meridien. It is only 750 meters or almost .5 miles to the Praktik Rambla to walk. We are meeting at the Praktik Rambla so I did a Google map.

I'm embarrased to say it's just a simple point and shoot camera though it does have a manual setting to that i used to capture the sunset shot.

We now have back up flights booked from Leeds Bradford to Barcelona! I'm thinking John is secretly wanting to be on that one!!! If we are he will have one pair of shorts and one tee shirt only on the vacation. He can wear his suit and everything for travelling so he will look half decent on formal nights.

Way too funny since I am not a villain lover at all I have non nope nil nilch zip zero nothing, no way no how do I have anything that might resemble a villain.

I do understand, as you say 14 is very young still........and I find the ear plugs really wierd too, espceially when she sticks a pen through her ear!!!


I think I'm probably a little sensitive to these things as Becky was judged very badly by the way she dressed and looked when she was younger especially.....and I went through the same thing myself......makes me a little tetchy sometimes!

Mandy you are preaching to the converted, i used to be 8 stone more than i am now, i was judged terribly, just cause I was fat some folks spoke to me like a moron and treated me as I I was no use to society, Its terrible the way I was treated sometimes, ie, nearly got run over in a pedestrian area, i complained and got told to shut up you fat *******

One thing I have always wondered ... if ever she decides she doesn't want great big holes in her ears, what would she do. Do the holes close back up if she takes out the things keeping them open or would she need surgery.

IMHO these things like piercings and tattoos always look quite cool and trendy on the young people .... but not so attractive once you get beyond a certain age and everything starts to head south .. ie. my age

In my job I get access to a lot more of the female anatomy than most and have witnessed some words tattooed in places which would seem very inappropriate on an elderly lady for example .

Can you imagine old folks homes in 30 years,lol.

My husband (Pat) is a spin class junkie! In fact by the time we get on the ship he should be certified to teach spin class. He is definately in for the class. I prefer to ride a real bike and see some scenery. He says the bikes on the ship are really nice so maybe I could be talked into 1 class.

I done the spin clas,, It was bloody hard,(really hard) week before cruise I had done a marathon,(ie fit) the guy taking the class, said
" Lynne ...step back from the white light...its nice going into it but not out."
def going to do it this time again.
Maybe he can give me a class every am, so i can fit into all my clothes by the end of cruiseplease,please.

Ok I am still on page 229 (that is what I get for having a pool party at my house last night!) and I do not know if the following has been brought up in the talk about MMC shirt night.

It was mentioned that the first 3 nights are the rotations in each dining room. This was not true on the EBTA

It was the 4th night before we started the rotational dining.

As I said - this may have already been addressed - but wanted to bring it to your attention in case it had not.

What color is the shirt? We do not have them and do not want to look out of place in the picture so if there is no more shirts I will wear that color at least.

one of the main reasons for week 2 and the reason I vote night 11 is by then things have winded down a bit ....remember the first night in animators is a show so that cancels out the first three nights , then you have formal and also a semi formal .. 2nd week seems better and night 11 seems like a nothing going on night , so we can make it a theme night all by ourselves ... just think the other guests will want to know why they didnt know about MMC night ...LOL ha ha

Thanks for the kind welcome back! My mom and I comment all the time about what a lovely bunch o' folks you guys are, really we do.

I wanted to add that we are going to the Magic Fountain in Barcelona on the Friday at the first show. We'd love to go on the Thursday but we are just getting in that day and I don't think any of us will survive a long, late night. We are planning to go to Poble Espanol on Friday evening, eat dinner near there, and then catch the fountain show. We would welcome Dis company should Friday work for anyone.

We are going to take Lens sat nav, when we bought it it was really expensive but it is loaded with all usa,canada and europe, it has a walking function on it, now though I am worried about it getting nicked as it was NOT cheap!

Would love to hear more about the sat nav. What kind is it? We bought the Pacsafe steel lock to put over DH's camera bag. Does it go on a strap? Pacsafe has some steel cable straps we are thinking of for phones and cameras. Pacsafe
Its a tomtom, I was always anti sat av but last year when in Ca we borrowed my cousins, it was brilliant, so so usefull, this one we have(they are maybe all the same) you can load all the tescos and starbucks and stuff on to it.
It has all the speed cameras and stuff on it. I like it, but dont use it much.
