Can someone please tell me who I need to contact in regards to the HRC meet? I have to break some bad news..... I cannot attend. :sad2:

The reason is this:

I AM NOW OFFICIALLY BOOKED ON THE 10 DAY MED CRUISE. I AM NOW OFFICIALLY A B2B'ER

:banana::dance3::yay::woohoo::cool1::banana:

Ok more details to follow, got to fly to the school and clear something up.

Be back later.

Lucky you! :woohoo::woohoo:

You guys...
Did you already talk about THIS?
Right as I sit here there's a report on German TV about pickpockets in Barcelona.
They say Barcelona is pckpocket city Nr 1 these days!

They even show HOW they do it!

Very scary!!!!

Not nice.

I am totally stunned!

Honestly Amy, you'll be fine, just take the same sensible precautions you would in any big city.

I forgot to mention... Little girl dresses... I decided to get Becca a dress to go with my formal since we are renting tuxes for the boys (both big and little). I found someone on EBay that was selling them for $9.99 or so. Yes, really TEN dollars US. Well, I was a bit worried that it wouldn't be nice - that it would scratch and all that. As Becca has skin issues (exzema, etc. scratchy dresses and costumes are a real no-no). Well, it arrived today and it is perfect! And it shipped 2 day - at no exra cost!!! It is white with a black sash and black roses on the skirt. It is light weight so should be comfy as she runs around. I am so excited! If anyone wants to peak... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...274&var=580003145310&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Definitely a bargain if anyone needs a dress for a little one. They had girls sizes 4-10 advertised.

Pretty dress!:)

Hello all,

I have been missing for most of this year because I was offered a promotion at work that led to a move to Indiana. My husband and I, and the 3 cats are now officially in Indiana, in our new house, and with all of our personal belongings. Its been busy. Now I am realizing that the cruise is less than 2 months away, I have lost 4 months of planning and not made any progress on the planned weightloss.

To that end...

1) I am back on the boards and will try to read and catch up (at least most of part 7...)
2) In order to motivate myself on the exercise thing, and in an attempt to get back into a routine now that we are settled, I registered for the disney half marathon today! I have never run a race before, and haven't run at all since high school. I am doing this in January with my Mom. I hope I'm not nuts... Went on my first run/walk tonight in preparation. Wish me luck!

-Stephanie

Wow! good luck with the half marathon! Glad your move went well....and welcome back to the chatty crowd :yay:

:littleangel:

Good job!! Very impressive to lose 5 lbs in one week! :)

Kristi

Thanks Kristi......there's such a lot to lose! ;)

Since almost every PM i got for the bus payment was asking how my wrist was doing. This Friday will be 3 month since the accident. As of now I have very little to almost to pain in my left hand and wrist. Still have a little swelling and stiffness in the wrist. I also do not have full strength back in my hand. I have to rebuild the muscles up. It slow but I'm getting it back to normal . Who know a 3 second hit would take over 3 month to heal.

Stephen

Its certainly taken its time, but glad its healing now :)

Mandy - great job on the weight loss. Wish I could say the same, but I am only 1 lb, here. Guess it is better than nothing!

Thank you! Any loss is good!:thumbsup2

OK...I was reading the one link on here about the safety in Barcelona and now I'm freaking out. Will I be scared the entire time I'm there? Is it worse than New York City? Can anybody calm my fears? Great! Now I'm afraid to fly to Barcelona and I'll be scared once I get off the plane! :lmao:

It is no worse than other big cities really Amy!! We have been to NY, London, Barcelona and other big cities and in all of them you need to use common sense and precautions but we found Barcelona no worse than anywhere else. The only issue we had was a couple of sleazy men ogling my pretty daughter!:rolleyes1 One look from my dh soon scared them off though....:thumbsup2

I'm wondering about those offers he may get from prostitutes though......:mad::lmao:

:lmao:

I think I found your 5 pounds... I have a severly strained left calf muscle. Doing physical therapy 2x a week so I can hike Mount Vesuvius. But not allowed to walk home now for almost 2 months and I have gained 5 pounds.

:rotfl2: well if you found those 5....maybe you'd like a few more?:rotfl: Sorry, hope your calf is better soon!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: It would take so long to give them the spanx they would give up waiting!!!;)

:rotfl::rotfl:

I had a lovely surprise yesterday. Since December I have been going to the gym quite regularly. During the Soccer World Cup they had a competition where you had to do 30 minutes exercise for each country in the World Cup. At the halfway stage you got a special event t shirt and everybody who completed it was put in a draw for some really neat prices. Well, we won a spa day for two. DH is trying to find out more details today. I can't wait to do this.

Corinna

That sounds great!:woohoo:

:littleangel:

Well done Sarah, and extra well done because of what you were going through at the time. Shows you are more than capable for what you are doing, so be confident in that. You should be very proud and you deserve a celebration!!!party:

Thanks Marilyn! I definately need a stiff drink the way I feel right now! I'm still shaking!

:hug:Well done Sarah! (Gismo)

Thats an amazing achievment especially considering what you were feeling at the time. Good for you!:woohoo:

:littleangel:

Here's some info about arriving in Gibraltar on a cruise ship:

Thanks for that info, it was interesting and definitely increased the excitement levels!

Hayley - I`m so sorry to hear about this man and what he has done to your family. We were victims of a very bizzare incident in our house years ago and I can understand how you feel about the unwanted attention. However none of this reflect badly on you or your family

Thanks so much for the reassurance, it means alot! :flower3:

Hayley! I am so sorry to read of this! Your poor mum! How positively awful. From the article it appears that this jerk will spend time behind bars, I hope that this is corrrect.

Feel free to vent away - that is what we are here for! We have a great DIS family!!

I am often reminded of what I learned as I was going through my moms accident. God fits us each with a jacket and over our lives it fits differently - sometimes it feels very big, some times it is tight. I imagine that your jackets feels a bit awkward as they are re sizing now. Hang in there, you will see your mum through this awful time, and you two will be closer for it.

See Hayley - our little (HA!) DIS family is there for you!! And I can't agree with this more - what goes around comes around, Karma is a bit** and it will get him!!

Sue, I love your jacket analogy. I will be sure to pass this on to Mum. :thumbsup2

Firstly, Congratulations on the promotion, Good onya! Second, welcome back. Third, oh the dreaded weightloss, after the week I have had......I have come to the conclusion that life is too short, as long as you are healthy, don't worry! Enjoy that extra piece of cake!

Hayley, big hug for your DM and you. Prays that there will be an outcome that does not cause your mother additional strife.

Thanks Penny :flower3:

Hayley - sooo sorry to hear about your mum! It is awful what this man has done. Please keep us posted. I read the newspaper article and hopefully he will get everything he deserves. How is she doing?

I had a rough day, not as rough as Hayley's mum, but Goofy Granny took me out to dinner and made my evening. I went to the grocery store and I guess someone dropped soda and it exploded on the side of my car. By the time I saw it, it was dried, sticky and goopy. Just lovely.

The orthodontist cut the inside of Abby's mouth and she was on Tylenol all day and not doing well. Oh well, life goes on - 2 more months and I smell the sea breeze!!!

Sandi, Mum is in a bit of shock and walking around in a Daze, there is so much paperwork to take care of!!!! She'll be OK, we are a pretty close family, she knows she has unlimited support from all of us.

Oh, the car sounds delightful! :rolleyes1 Poor Abby, hope she's feeling better by tomorrow, good thing is your mouth heals pretty quickly.

LESS THAN 2 MONTHS!!!! Check out my ticker!!! :yay:

I'm so sorry for your mum.

 to you and your mum. I'm glad she didn't cancel her insurance policy.

Thanks, she nearly did cancel the policy, Lucky her lawyer told her not to!

I am glad to see he has to live with his psychologist friend, maybe the friend will give some free psych therapy. Your mom is pretty smart to have left when she did. So sorry your family is having to endure this.

Thanks, we will be fine, 3 days on and we're slowly making jokes about it, you have to laugh, it's either that or cry....:goodvibes

Cruise Shirts Arrrr Here !!

Todd, Shirts are great! pirate:

They can have the spanx - NOT THE PASSPORT!
:rotfl2:

OMG - That is awful. What goes around comes around. I do hope he gets what he deserves.

I think I found your 5 pounds... I have a severly strained left calf muscle. Doing physical therapy 2x a week so I can hike Mount Vesuvius. But not allowed to walk home now for almost 2 months and I have gained 5 pounds.

Karma is a b***h!

Hope your calf is feeling better soon, don't worry about the 5 pounds, it will drop off when you can walk home again.

I am so sorry to hear this. You and your mum are in my thoughts and prayers. At least hopefully he won't be able to harm anybody else.

Thanks Corrina, unfortunately he got bail, so we HOPE he doesn't hurt anyone else!

Enjoy your spa day, It sounds like it will be pure bliss!

OK I had to share because I'm so excited!

As some of you know my Grandmother died a few months back. She died the week before I was set to take some important exams for work and 2 of the 3 exams were actually on the morning before her funeral so it was a very stressful time for me! Anyway the exam results came out today and somehow I managed to only fail 1 of the exams rather than all 3 like I thought I had! I'm still in complete shock over it all! I honestly was expecting to resit them all but only have to resit 1 next year!

That is fantastic news Sarah, see...your smarter than you give yourself credit for. Good Onya!

I was wondering if any of the guys are dressing special for villians night. I'm trying to get Bob to bring his Jafar costume, he wore it one halloween when he taught high school science. He says no one else will be wearing one so he isn't either. val

I won't be dressing up. Luggage restrictions are to tight for this trip.

So sorry I haven't been posting for a couple of days, you wouldn't believe the last couple of days i have had! Let me start with a little background. My mum has been in a relationship with a man for about 4-5 years, she left him about 6 months ago. Their house is in his name, but when mum sold her house she put a large chunk of money on his home loan as they were in a relationship, it was about $300 000. Since she has left him, her lawyer has started proceedings to retrieve Mum's money, as that was the deal agreed upon. He had to sign all the paperwork last week and was not happy that the house would be sold and he would come out with virtually nothing. So, on Saturday night he burnt the house down, yes...I am serious, he burnt the house to the ground. Luckily Mum had removed all of her things 2 weeks ago with Police present as she was scared of him and what he would do. But the house is completely gone. He has been arrested and charged with Arson, and faced court today.
We have now learnt of his history, and he is a con man who has done this before. He tries to scam women out of money, and has a trail of victims.
Honestly, It is embarrassing to tell people this as it makes us sound like some crazy, weird family. But the truth is, My mum works at Corrective Services, my sister is a psychologist and works as a parole officer, my brother owns a successful JetSki business, and we are all good people.
Anyway, I feel safe with you guys, I know your not judgmental, and I promise we are really nice, good people......maybe a little too trusting.......obviously......:confused3

So, sorry to hear that your mom has gone through this.:sad2:

Don't panic OK! Its like every major city! Its probably no worse than New York other than the fact more people are tourists so are less on guard and easier targets (unlike New York where a lot of the crowds are people who work in the city every day). Just be sensible, don't go flashing money around, keep bags close to you and within your sight, avoid huge crowds where you can etc.

When Dan went to Barcelona 2 years ago he managed to stop a pick pocketer taking a ladies purse outside MacDonalds on Las Ramblas! She was obliviously lucky that someone noticed but I think as long as you are aware of whats going on then thats good!

Relax and enjoy Barcelona! It's a beautiful, walkable city. Use common sense. Just a quick word, be extra cautious anywhere you might feel crowded with people up against you such as in an elevator, at a corner crossing, on a crowded subway, waiting in a line, etc. And if you have a purse or bag, don't put it over the chair in a restaurant; put one of the front chair legs through the strap with the bag at your feet (this tip is from a waiter in Barcelona).

Andrea

My Champagne Girl dress has arrived yesterday. I can't wait to try it on. Now that I have the dress, I can look into getting a boa. We have a number of party shops in our town and also a market that might sell something like this.
Corinna

Don't worry if you don't find a boa, we'll have extra ones. Your dress sounds great!

Sarah - so glad to hear that you passed the exams! YEAH! You had a lot of pressure in your life so that is wonderful that 2 of the 3 are done!

Abby is sewing her pirate dress today. I am looking forward to seeing it. Due to luggage restrictions and all my FE's, scrapbook FEs, etc. I will not be dressing up for villians or pirate night.

Hayley - so glad to know you are a close knit family and taking care of one another. Tell your mom to pack a bag and join us on the cruise!:cool1:

That dress is gorgeous and such a bargain as well. Isn't Ebay wonderful? Half the content of my closet seems to have come from Ebay. I could not have afforded a lot of it if I had to pay full price.

Corinna

and mine :lmao::lmao::rolleyes1:rolleyes1

OK I had to share because I'm so excited!

Well done and congratulations on doing so well at such a difficult time. I'm sure concentrating on those exams was the hardest thing for you on top of everything else.:hug::hug:

I went to Hobby Lobby this morning and picked up a pink boa! They are regularly $6.99. If you are in the States and have a HL in your neighborhood, print a coupon off (http://hobbylobby.com/weekly/coupon.cfm) or cut from your Sunday newspaper for a 40% discount!

Fee doubled after they installed the KTTW readers and that is your only choice. No quarters needed or accepted.
The cost was $1.00 (four quarters) per wash or dry. When DCL installed card readers, the price doubled.

Thank you for the clarification

....Little girl dresses... I decided to get Becca a dress to go with my formal since we are renting tuxes for the boys (both big and little). ....it arrived today and it is perfect! ....

She'll be just adorable in that dress! I think it's beautiful, and with your dress, you'll be so sweet together! I can't wait to see a family portrait with all of you in black and white!

Hello all,
I have been missing for most of this year because I was offered a promotion at work that led to a move to Indiana....

Stephanie!! Glad to see you back with us! I was working on my FE gifts the other day and when I came to your name, I was wondering where you've been! Congrats again on the promotion, and getting settled.

That's exciting!! Congrats!
