Apart from pillowslips and photo frames, what else do people get autographed by the characters? :goodvibes

Cheers

Thank you. Can you put this info on Page one? I know we will pay very very soon, but it still will get lost quickly!!!

I thought I saw where someone arranged for their transportation from the airport to the hotel and also prepaid. I'd love to get this out of the way so I'm hoping someone can pass on the information. - Thanks!

Transportation post on page one has been updated with all the new details :)

I am not going to worry too much about the weather, heck Ive been in the north sea in december, had to wedge myself in the bunk so I didnt roll out, It was fun.

Roughest seas I've felt was in the Galapagos - I also did the bunk wedge to stop from falling off at night. Also as Mum and I were sea sick when standing up on the boat, we had to do everything in our cabin laying down - getting dressed, undressed, changing into swimwear, brushing teeth etc - it was very, very funny :rotfl2:

Oh. Are banks in Europe just now transitioning to cards with chips? Is this new? That might be why my cards have always worked but now you all are talking about needing a "chip". I'll certainly check with my bank to be double sure before I leave.

My understanding is that merchants in Europe have been using chip technology for some time and the likes of us in countries that don't have chip cards that may have some issues - or those that don't have 4 digit pin numbers.

On our February/March trip to WDW when we were there for 6 weeks(including 1 week's cruise) I wore all my my cooler 'just in case' clothes all the time!!!:sad2: On the cruise week however, it was very cold in the inside corridors and restaurants. I don't know why, but it was quite uncomfortable at times.

I had to buy a fleece top on our cruise last year going from Perth, it was freezing cold (unseasonably so) so I'm hoping I've learnt from that :) We are going to DL following our stay in Florida so by mid-Oct, I'm assuming it will be cool in the evenings so we will be needing warmer clothing for there anyway. Also it will still be pretty darn cool leaving here in early spring so I plan on being very well dressed going out of here.

A question my Mum asked, are we likely to see any wildlife while crossing the Atlantic? Dolphin or whales particularly - she's wondering whether to take her binoculars.

Sounds like a great day.

The guy who skipped out on the lifeboat drill will be getting a letter from the officers to his stateroom. In December, my DMIL fell on her way to the DCL bus and got a terrible gash on her forehead. She and DFIL went by ambulance to the ER in Orlando for a head CT and stitches. They made it to the ship with 15 minutes to spare--after the lifeboat drill had taken place. They got "the letter". On the bright side, thanks to the very helpful DCL people at the airport where we were catching the bus, she did make the cruise. One of them arranged a private limo to take them from the hospital to the Magic. As it turned out, we ended up leaving the port late because a passenger who was already on board fell and was very confused and needed to be taken off the ship before we even left :sad2:. So, even though my DMIL had a terrible :headache: and a nasty cut and bruise on her forehead, at least she got to cruise with us!

We had 'the letter' last year and we were at the drill!! :confused3 The CM kept shouting our room number and we shouted back, waved our arms, annoyed the others sitting at the same table, shouted some more. Then he stopped, so we presume he had heard us at last. On our way our we asked another CM to check we had been noted and she said we would have been:laughing:. Well, I was more than a little miffed :mad:to get the letter, and we wrote a terse reply and posted it back suggesting they did something about the whole drill situation, noise etc. I'm still cross. I guess they probably still might not believe we were there, but hey ho! I wouldn't dare NOT be there.

Just sent Laura a message on facebook but she is idle so I dont know if she is near the computer or not.....Maybe she will see it soon

Well at least you didn't say she is lazy!!!;):lmao: I love that computer term.

Where is Noel by the way? She has been very quiet - maybe I missed something.

Noel is up at her house on the lake with a grandson or granddaughter for a week or so.

Thanks for adding the transportation info. I can pay by Paypal, but John actually has money in his account so need to nudge him to pay.

I am planning on travelling to Barcelona in long trousers and carrying(hopefully not wearing) a thicker or warmer cardigan that will do for the cooler spells. If I have other long trousers with me they will be linen ones for dinners.

Not sure about the wildlife crossing the Atlantic, but I would take binoculars anyway. Lots to see elsewhere closer to land, and you never know what you might see. We use them ever such a lot on cruises.

Pardon me if this was already discussed. Will the pillowcase/t-shirt, etc. signing by the characters be available on this cruise? We have given them as gifts and would like to do it again.

Thanks,
Andrea

For the first time, I had a pillow case signed on the Med cruise. Unfortunately Stitch did not sign it so I ordered another pillow case for this cruise. This time I will make absolutely sure that they write Stitch on the form as well. I had asked for all non-face characters and I got Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto.

With there being dolphin watch cruises in both Gibraltar and Madeira, I think we have a good chance to see dolphins in the vicinity of both. I was also told that September is whale migration time so we might see some whales as well.

Ok ......here we go.....

Just for all my DIS friends......:cool1:

We saw loads of dolphins swimming with the ship on the PC cruise, but I would love to see whales now as well.

We saw a sunfish on the PC cruise too. I had never heard of them, and it looked like a giant fish swimming on it's side. We asked someone what it was.

Lots of flying fish and turtles too.

WOW !!! Doesn't she look stunning :love::love::love:

She surely is a beautiful ship. So much nicer than the more modern container vessel type ships. I'm hoping the extra decks on the new DCL ships don't spoil the look and move slightly towards the container look.

So sorry I haven't been posting for a couple of days, you wouldn't believe the last couple of days i have had! Let me start with a little background. My mum has been in a relationship with a man for about 4-5 years, she left him about 6 months ago. Their house is in his name, but when mum sold her house she put a large chunk of money on his home loan as they were in a relationship, it was about $300 000. Since she has left him, her lawyer has started proceedings to retrieve Mum's money, as that was the deal agreed upon. He had to sign all the paperwork last week and was not happy that the house would be sold and he would come out with virtually nothing. So, on Saturday night he burnt the house down, yes...I am serious, he burnt the house to the ground. Luckily Mum had removed all of her things 2 weeks ago with Police present as she was scared of him and what he would do. But the house is completely gone. He has been arrested and charged with Arson, and faced court today.
We have now learnt of his history, and he is a con man who has done this before. He tries to scam women out of money, and has a trail of victims.
Honestly, It is embarrassing to tell people this as it makes us sound like some crazy, weird family. But the truth is, My mum works at Corrective Services, my sister is a psychologist and works as a parole officer, my brother owns a successful JetSki business, and we are all good people.
Anyway, I feel safe with you guys, I know your not judgmental, and I promise we are really nice, good people......maybe a little too trusting.......obviously......:confused3

Hello all....the Magic really looks great.....and now a question from my DW....on this transatlantic cruise....will they have themed t-shirts and sweatshirts from the WB transatlantic? I already know that I am in trouble with those special pocketbooks that they are selling....gonna wipe out our onboard credit in one single transaction....and we have 2 weeks on the ship to spend money....or should I say my wife has 2 weeks to spend money....ah....its just money....I can always make some more...
Tom
Tom, I have mentioned I love your wife, lol
Actually, I believe there's a switch that turns off the A/C whenever the door is opened.
Sounds about right.
Bonjour!! Long time no chat from me (not many of you though!). I missed you all!! I didn't have much of a chance go get on-line last week while I was at Grandmother's, which means >60 pages to catch up on. *sigh*

As a result of being off-line, I worked on a lot of cruise-related tasks in the past week! Some of my accomplishments included but was not limited to buying my tiara, finishing my primary FE gifts, making door magnets (although I think I'm going to make one more), and papercrafting my scrapbook embellishment exchange gifts. :woohoo: My mom is graciously making me a "Hawaiian dress" from some fabric I found for $2.50/yard, so she fitted me for that last week, too. I also put together (another) spreadsheet that will come in handy when I'm ready to distribute FE gifts, postcards, etc. Hopefully this week I'll finalize some more things!

Lots on the plate for this week, but I'll try to stay more connected with you all this week.

PS: I'm LOVING the countdown ticker saying "1 month and ## days"!!!

Here's what their sleeping quarters looks like. ;)

Maybe Paula could put a link to Stephen's instructions in her post on Page 1 regarding the hotel(s) to port transportation post.

Stephen, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for taking the time to organize this for us!!! I'm off to make a payment now!
welcome back.
Hubby has been saving his quarters for laundry. Does anyone know if they are still using quarters in the laundry machines on board or are they now on our key cards. After the EB REPO they were suppose to replace the machines. They were in bad shape on deck 2, but that was two years ago.

Thanks!

Woody has answered you."our resident cruise expert":thumbsup2
Did anyone else see the thread on the main forum board about the change in CD? One person said she heard that on the 9/8, it was going to be Brent, but this leaves that up for questioning.

HAYLEY.....we might be calling on your DH for our fix afterall! :rotfl2:
Yes, someone called Peter?

I will definatly be taking binocs, whales? dolphins? I dont know but nearer the american side I certainly hope so.

UK ANGEL - Thanks so much for the pictures. Loved them! Cannot wait till people are taking a picture of me on Deck 9!:rotfl:

Yes, thank you Mandy! It was so fun to look at them! :)

Kristi

Glad they were enjoyed!:goodvibes

Doesn't DCL ask you to keep your doors closed? (unless you've also turned your A/C off.) Curious to see all the open doors. How neat to see her!

I noticed the doors, too. I thought maybe the picture was taken during the time the stateroom hosts are doing the changeover cleaning of the rooms and they opened them to air them out.

No they were taken when people were in and out of their rooms, just leaving the doors open....Mark remarked on exactly the same thing...:confused3

Hmmmmm... I aways have my door open when we're in port.
And on many occations while sailing the doors open too.

PS... love the pics!
Annie

Glad you liked them Annie:)

Tom, there will be several T-shirts, embroidered shirts, a Golf shirt, tote bag, post cards, shot glasses and sweatshirts more with specific WBTA motifs.

No need for trying to explain how nice you are, that is obvious to us all. Also this guy is obviously excellent at what he does unfortunately, but this time it looks like he has been found out for what he is. I hope what is right prevails here.

I hope the ongoing problems aren't too difficult for you all. We are here for you to chat and offload - it does help.

Hi Late Diners

Thanks to all of you who have sent me your reservation numbers and lead names. I am attempting to make a spreadsheet :rotfl2:

There are a few of you who requested to link dining who I have not yet heard from re. the reservation numbers / lead names.

UKAngel ( Mandy and Mark )
Sue L ( Sue and husband )
acourtwdw2 ( Annette and Amanda)
Renegade 7 (Johanna and Kimmy ), Cinderbear and Erik / Jason
KC's Princess
Grayfal ( Tom and Pat)

Could you please let me know if you still want to be linked with the main group or if you are making your own arrangements.

I am also looking for a late dining group with children, as so far we only have one group with children and it would be nice to have a family with children to link up with them.

The rotation which has been requested by some of the late dining group is ROTATION 2 ( APL ) which has us in Lumieres for the first formal night. If anyone would prefer a different rotation could you please let me know.

Thanks such a lot. :hug::hug:

Thanks Sarah, It's like something out of a movie, it doesn't feel real. Finger's crossed we can get some of Mum's money back. Her trust in all men is pretty much zero right now, The police have been wonderful though.

OMG Hayley, we just watched this on the news tonight - your poor mum to have to go through that. At least she has a wonderful family to help her through:)

Yep, that was it. The house just looks like a big hole in the ground now (it was built into the side of a cliff). There is NOTHING left, except lots of evidence! :rotfl:
