Pin Update

I have asked Jordak to desgin a pin for us, and Noel and John have changed the other desgin so we don't get trouble whit Disney.

Noel and I think both desgin are good but we like to have your opion about wich one you all like the most. So please let us now wich one you vote for.
We like to now before friday.

Thank You ... I know I just have my son Destin and I on the roll call ... I hadnt added Helen cause we didnt know for sure if she would be able to make it ...(were still going through immigration process , we finally have our interview and hope it gets approved on July 28th) , then we have to get her Schengen Visa for most of the Med trip so we have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off ... all this and we still dont know if my step son Sean (Helens) son will make it ....He is listed and paid for to go but dont know if we will be able to get him from Manila prior ....If he does make it , he will probably fly to the states around Sept 3rd , then turn around and fly with us to Spain on the 6th ....And all this is provided he gets his Schengan approved later today (its actually Wednesday in Manila right now ) at the Spanish Embassy in Manila ...

So if he does get approved for the Schengan , then it will be US immigration's turn to expedite his paper work .. so we are working on it ferociously ...

This is why I am not on the boards much, because were so tied up with my regular work plus getting everything in line for Helen to become a Legal Resident here in the States ....

Hope you manage to get it all worked out and both Helen and Sean can make it on the cruise. . Hopefully after July 28th it will be a weight off your shoulders !

Pin Update

Ugh...I didn't even think about that. In the past I was able to use my work color printer to print out the lanyard name badges...but my work has changed dramatically (we recently merged with a much larger...and stricter...company) so I won't be able to do that this time around. I was planning on using a place like Kinko's to print them....but Jason & I designed the name badges last night (HOORAY!!! Another project marked off the list!!! ) and they are loosely based on the both the cruise logo with the flags and that magnet that was created by another DISer for the EBTA and then revised for our version of the itinerary. I have to say that i"m really happy with how they turned out and I hope everyone else will be, too....but they do feature the word "Disney" and Mickey's face and several mickey heads/hidden mickey style decorations. I hope I can get them printed without a hassle from Kinko's about featuring a licensed character on them.

Sure sounds like you have a lot on your plate but you have it somewhat under control!!

I sure hope we all get to meet Helen and Sean!! I hope they both will be joining us on the Madeira tour so we all get to know them even better!!

Plus, if you guys are tasting with us at Blandy's we will raise a glass to your anniversary!!

Thanks for your hard work.

Just a note on the kid's clubs. On the magic they have Ocean Quest for the tweens (11-13 yrs) so the Ocean Lab only goes up go age 10 and the Stack doesn't start until age 14.

Well, I got myself all prepared for it...when we got there I had got the wrong day .... dentist appointment is tomorrow. So tomorrow we get to do it all again.

I am really excited to see the badges. I bet they look terrific!!

Hope you have better luck with your Kinko's than we did!! Kinko's here WILL NOT print anything like that. We had to use DH's Laser printer at work.

OK thanks to Penny and her marvels she has managed to get out a preview copy of the navigator! Warning this is the first preview and I expect there to be mistakes so please point them out! Sandi (Hoagie Pie) appologies for the spelling mistakes as I think I caught some and not others on your name!

Anyway the end document will be a duplux version that can be printed then folded into a booklet but this is just the main pdf version.

It should be helpful for those first timers out there and seasoned DCL's
alike hopefully. If anyone thinks of anything else to add let me know. As said before I've left out the Dis Name list as it seemed the best idea for now as most people are waiting on room assignments

The big thing with using Disney logos and pictures is that you can't sell them. You're not selling them to us or using them for any type paid service.

How fortuitous is your post!! I just received an email from Eusébia asking us to have anyone on the tour make their ressies at Blandy's ASAP. I will be adding this information to the link on page one later today.

Eusébia said Blandy's told her that each guide takes 30 people. in case there are more people interested, if there’s another guide available, they’ll start another group. Eusébia also said that it’s very important to book in advance, so that they are prepared with enough guides on the day so no one is disappointed.

Her novel use words like insalubrious, ratiocination, indefatigable or nihilism. She also uses phrases like dog in the manager or nil nisi bonum.

I prefer the 2nd design, since it is more informative with more details about our cruise. The first design is nice, but pretty generic. I do think design 2 might be better in a bit more condensed fashion, without the ragged edges which may complicate the pin design, and the current elongated design may make the pin larger than a lanyard can hold with just 1 clip.

DH and I especially like the books on tape narrated by Barbara Rosenblatt. She does all the male and female character voices. I think she is also quite good with accents.
