I have been looking at the flights that people are getting from disney and I see an interesting pattern

1: the flights are mostly full. Which makes me wonder if Disney gets a deal for helping to fill up planes. 2) Booking 2 years in advance don't you think we would get us better seats.

I am also on a basically full plane. I called Disney to make sure they knew they were dealing with a person using a scooter so when the seats are chosen most airlines have special seating for different needs.

Disney does not do any of this. I would have to call the airlines myself. To put it mildly I was not happy. When I got the info I would have to call the airline.

I got mine early than 60 days because I was afraid I would be put to far away from the washrooms. My mobility is not so great after sitting and trying to balance on a plane. Well I was able to move up a few there were only 6 seats left. Disney transportation actually release the info early I guess rethinking that I at least needed the chance to change seats.

Unfortunatley Air Canada is not great with customer service. I spent 45 minutes just trying to figure out were the washrooms were on the plane. The seating plan I was given was not matching what the Rep was telling me.

So after she moved our seats she puts me on hold. ( oh ans I was on hold for 15 minutes before I even talked to anyone) She comes back 10 minutes later and said you are right the seats are at the back at the plane. ( I am in seat 14 now :headache:

I would have to ask to use the first class washroom:headache:

Next I needed to talk to someone in medical but because the call took 45 minutes to basically get no where it was now closed.:headache:

So I get back on the phone the next day and we go through the seating again. She was not much better but said I did not need to ask permission to use the washrooms up front cause there was no first class.

Then it was what type of scooter I had and she checked each airplane:rolleyes

And then she said I needed medical clearance because I have MS. What:scared1: I said no I do not I read the list and I have nothing that even comes close to anything that would cause a problem.

Now I know why people go to Westjet. I sure do. They keep seating available for special needs. They keep a list of people who require special seating.

In fact I book to go to WDW. The next day I got a call to say my seats have already been assigned. Now that is service!!!!

It is all good cause I just plan to sleep the enitre flight so I will not have to care how far the washroom is :):cloud9:

Well that's rubbish! Customer care really needs to be improved!

If you can get a shoe organiser for the back of a door or wardrobe with a hook over the end this is an easy option. For my 2nd one (first one was actually a gift from a Dis person) I actually just made pockets out of pre-cut felt and sewed them together then added a peice of string along the top to tie it up with.

If I can get my photobucket to cooperate, I made some for the first TA I was on....I have instructions and photos.....working on it......

If you want my written FE instructions, please send me a PM. Good Luck!

Dear Belle! I can feel your pain! Our son,Patrick, uses a wheelchair most of the time, and for the last 5 years or so, when traveling outside the US, we have been booking first or business only for the very same reasons you wrote about!

AND I was afraid to do Disney Air and transportation because I can't just take any seat. It takes both my husband and I to walk him through the aisle to get him to the "accessible" WC. Then I hold a blanket to shield my husband helping him because of course they can't both get into most WC's together AND shut the door! It's a real circus!

ALSO, we do NOT ask permission ahead of time to use first class restrooms, we deal with the flight attendants for that, they are usually so helpful.

THIS time I booked business all the way through and yesterday I dealt with the seating thing......we are in ECONOMY CLEAR AT THE BACK ON THE WAY TO NEWARK!!!!! It wouldn't matter except I paid for business! So onto the phone calling today.

Love ya! Keep travelling!

On the bright side.. mom and I just had a mini fashion show... she's all ready for the cruise... I need to go shopping!!! :rotfl:

mmmmmmm shopping!:thumbsup2

Presenting my newest grandson. This is our fifth grandson. 6lbs, 10ozs. 19 inches long. I am in love. He looks like his brothers. This is the third for my oldest son.

Pierson Bradley H******

Pierson.jpg

His middle name is in honor of my hubby's brother Bradley, who was killed in January 1993 just two days after he found out he was going to be a father for the first time. His son, Jacob Bradley is the one who is in New Zealand right now playing water polo.

Congratulations on your new Grandson, he's beautiful! :)

Off to a lovely girls' weekend with my college room-mates. I'm sure by the time I get back I'll be 50 pages behind!

Have a fun time!:cool1:

Hey all - I'm back!

It went really well and I am doing great. Can see very well and apart from a little haloing and some minor fizziness everything in perfect. I'm thrilled with the results so far and after some healing time expect terrific vision.

Thanks for all your well wishes. It meant a lot as I was so nervous.

Glad it went well :)

Ahhh!!! I am soooo excited. They were just worried that a ticket had not been issued yet - so no big deal. Abby and I are even sitting together and the airlines said that when I check my bags in Orlando, I will not see them until Barcelona! YEAH! I don't need to worry about it. Yes, I am a worry wart and you all know I hate to fly. My night is made! Thanks to whoever made the recommendation to call Delta!:worship::worship::worship::worship:

Phew! Glad it worked out! :thumbsup2

What a palaver!!! (Is that just an 'English' expression?) They really need to get their act together!:sad2:

You might want to check your local library as they may have them. If not, Albris or Amazon may have them if you like the first two.

Have checked all the area's libraries and Amazon, but will try Albris, thanks :)

I am glad you got Becky all settled in her new flat. What a calamity you have her purse!! Glad you can get it to her so quickly!! No weird email from you so far!!

Thanks Noel, yes how silly of us! :headache: Glad you didn't get one of the 'viagra' emails.......:rolleyes1

:littleangel:

Next week we are going to Mansfield to meet up with a group of DIS friends ..... I love meeting up with my DIS friends because you can just waffle on and on about Disney and nobody minds a bit .... now if I do this with work colleagues / other friends they think I am crazy :confused3:confused3

Hope you have a great DIS BBQ.

Tony and I have just found out that we will be on our own this evening ... both kids staying over with friends .... I am tempted to go out for a meal, but keep trying to put myself off as most meals out involve way too many calories. Should I or shouldn't I :confused3:confused3

Hope everyone has a great weekend and don't forget .... what will we all be doing 10 weeks tomorrow :woohoo::woohoo:

It was my main email address too .... I had to change it with everything ... banking, ebay, DIS, everything really .... nightmare. Why do people do it

Same reason they drive around smashing mailboxes with baseball bats....some people just should not breed!
Too funny...

i was just flicking through the fish extender thread to get ideas for teenagers and for a moment i thought i was still on this thread as all the same people seemed to be the main posters! I had to check the top of the page to make sure. :rotfl2:
:lmao:

Scary, but some of the geezers on here might want those Viagra e-mails after all us princesses are dressed up in our spanx :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::eek:

Oh that sounds perfect!! Have a great day tomorrow!

Did anyone write down the dining rotations and can let me know what they were .... I realy don't want to have to trawl back through all our posts :eek:

Oh staying home in a quiet house and having a simple meal and a glass of wine could be fun too!! ;)

Well, I will be on my own tonight. :scared: I have been struggling trying to get CPAP supplies for Dennis. Long story, original sleep center no longer has records (more than 10 years old), the place we were getting them can't send them now because we moved, new place can't send them without a prescription. On and on...he now gets his medical care from the VA, they can't supply without a study. His mask is in really bad shape....so, I called the VA this morning to see when they can get him in for a study and WHOA!! they had a cancellation and he can go tonight. :cheer2: And they will send him home with a new mask! :cool1:But, that leaves me here without him. :sad2: The VA hospital is 125 miles away so he will be gone from 6 tonight until 8 tomorrow morning. Probably doesn't sound bad to many, but we are "joined at the hip" and have not been apart for more than an hour or two at a time since we retired 2 years ago.....I will miss him. :sad1:

EARLY LINKED DINING
If you have not already done so, please pm the primary name on your reservation and your reservation number to me......Time to link up! :woohoo:

awwwwww Angie that is so lovely ..... hope the hours apart pass very quickly for you both :hug:

I've been living in a virtual world for the last 20 years (anyone remember bulletin boards - the predecessor of the home internet connection?) so I don't make a distinction between real life friends and online friends.

Oh I remember 18 years ago PAYING $20 (on special) for a Prodigy disc - that would "allow" me to get on to their network - in addition to get on the WWW we had to dial up through the local community college. I have to say I was very hesitant to transition out of Prodigy when they moved everything out into the "big unknown world of the internet" as I liked my BB and my life there! But they shut it down and forced me out - I think I have adjusted :)

Boys just don't get it, we want to see, smell, touch, you know....:sad2:

that made me laugh! I always have extra room in my suitcase for something like that - who needs a jacket - I can buy one on the ship!
