The DIS navigator is amazing - Thank you! :worship:

Terry - congratulations of you beautiful baby grandson.

favourite movies: DD - Cinderella
DS: TS3
Me: how to decide on just one? perhaps UP...

We are finally organized now we have flights to Barcelona booked, hotel booked (novotel city), BLT for afterwards (although in all fairness that was booked at the 11mth window) and flights from NYC to Dubai.

and i think i even have the fish extender gifts, chocolate swap and sectret mickey almost organized (not done just organized...) :cheer2:

If there are NOT parentheses around the DIS name then that is an indication that person is the actual DIS user who posts to these boards under that name. (So for example, my name tag will have my First name in big letters "ERIK" and beneath it my DIS name, "tig82174"----that way if you see me aboard the ship you'll know who I am).

Thats a great idea!

Wish me luck and see you on the other side of 20/20!

Here's hoping you "see" us much clearer than before :)

You expressed my thoughts as well. The 2008 WBPC may have been a unique experience but I think this cruise is shaping up to be a really interesting one. Each cruise needs to be a little different. We share making new memories with new and old friends. An added plus is that we get to plan new adventures for another day. Isn't life grand!

I've been living in a virtual world for the last 20 years (anyone remember bulletin boards - the predecessor of the home internet connection?) so I don't make a distinction between real life friends and online friends.

Online friends are simply friends I maybe haven't met in real life yet. Those I befriended on the EBPC were a fab group of people and I consider myself very fortunate that many are on this cruise with too - but its just as fun IMO to make more new friends.

:idea:Anyone who is Barcelona on Thursday evening. Want to have a Dis meet at the Magic Fountains? party:

I have mapped out the walking routes and the metro route from Le Meridian and Praktik Rambla (just for starters).

I was going to ask the very same thing!! I plan to go to the Magic Fountains on Thursday also. Anyone else from Praktik Ramblas planning to go on Thursday as well?

Sure - where do we sign up - we are at Praktik Ramblas? (assuming its not too late and we aren't too tired from a day hiking around museums).

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Me - Lion King
Robert - Treasure Planet
Mum - Lion King

To be fair most of the classic movies don't do a lot for me, come to think of either, neither do a lot of the more recent ones. :) While there are some great movies, Lion King is by far my favourite. I actually prefer the music in most cases to the actual movie, but high on my list (in no particular order) - Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Pocohontas, Lilo and Stitch, Mulan, Enchanted and of course PoTC. Captain Jack Sparrow...

I also really like the Treasure Planet soundtrack and the Mary Poppins music is wonderful too.

Someone mentioned vegetarian dining in Barcelona but I can't find who so this might be of use :)

Its of concern to us also as Robert and I are both vegetarian and have been for years but I'm sure we won't starve :)

Terry, congratulations on the arrival of your new grandson Jacob. He is too cute!!!

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

I haven't seen many classic ones. Otherwise, we both love Toy Story 1 & 2. We haven't seen 3 yet. I also love POTC!!

Good afternoon Ma,

Angie, who did you book the hop-on hop-off with? I don't want to book a different company.

Ma, I think i will eat with the DIS group, ;)

Pj

Aaaw, you must get the same bus!!!!

Of course you are eating with us....you are on our reservation, Silly!!! :lmao:

See PJ, Ma looks after you!!!;)

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

we're in the 60s !!!!!

Thanks Sarah, that's exactly what's happened to me! At the moment Mark has done some spy checking at work and has changed my password but not the account as I use it for so much!:guilty:

It was my main email address too .... I had to change it with everything ... banking, ebay, DIS, everything really .... nightmare. Why do people do it

question - is anyone already doing a question of the day/week type thing on here? We did it on the EBTA as a way to get to know disney things about each other (great for Secret Mickey's info!) If no one is doing it does anyone mind if I start it?

Krisann

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Great idea Krisann

My favourite classics would be Cinderella and The Little Mermaid
My favourite new films would be the POTC trilogy and Toy Story.
Tony's favourites would be Beauty and the Beast (makes him cry :sad1: ), POTC trilogy and Toy Story

Presenting my newest grandson. This is our fifth grandson. 6lbs, 10ozs. 19 inches long. I am in love. He looks like his brothers. This is the third for my oldest son.

What a beautiful baby boy.

Hey all - I'm back!

It went really well and I am doing great. Can see very well and apart from a little haloing and some minor fizziness everything in perfect. I'm thrilled with the results so far and after some healing time expect terrific vision.

Thanks for all your well wishes. It meant a lot as I was so nervous.

Pleased it all went well Carolynn. Hope it continues to improve.

I have a question that I'm sure can be answered by some of you. How do you make an FE? I'm not that handy with sewing, so if anyone has made one, especially, that doesn't include sewing, I would be grateful if you'd share your instructions.

Thanks
This is the FE info from the DIS:

For me the digital was a little bit more, but if I don't have to spend hours doing this and that with the paper, then to me it is worth it. And they print so beautifully! They look like cocktail table books. Also - I like Krisannes idea - build x amount into the cost of yor vacation so you are ready for it, and I also like to think that I will actually complete more books, so the money spent is wasted... (can you tell I am bitter about having 6 unfinished books sitting and staring at me...)

Thats my problem ... I have scrapbooks and all the embellishments, papers etc to make a scrapbook from my last cruise ( almost 2 years ago now ) but just can't seem to get started.

And speaking of family... our son's wedding is this saturday and joining the herd of grandchildren will be 2 more! Bringing the total to...16 :scared1:
Cassie 16 and Amy 7.
(7 girls and 9 boys)

What a tribe!

Annie:eek:

Congratulations on your DS's wedding ... hope it all goes well and you have a wonderful day, and congratulations on the new family additions.

Can anyone remember the dining rotations .... I thought I had written it down but can't find where I put it .... thanks :thumbsup2

Too funny...

i was just flicking through the fish extender thread to get ideas for teenagers and for a moment i thought i was still on this thread as all the same people seemed to be the main posters! I had to check the top of the page to make sure. :rotfl2:

some brilliant ideas out there....

Now you're all making ME want to do this!! We fly out even earlier than all of you (Monday, Sept. 6th----so we're already under the 60 day mark!!!!) because we're on the B2B and we've heard nothing from DCL or our TA about our flight either! So what should I do? Go to delta's website and search for red eye flights from Orlando (MCO) to Barcelona (BCN)??

We are also on the B2B. I called DCL today (well, its after midnight, so yesterday) and they gave me our flight info. They also e-mailed us a detailed summary of our flights w/ our confirmation #, etc. So, call them and they should have your flight info. We are flying Delta from California (LAX) on Tuesday, 9-7 at 6:15 a.m. and have a 4 hour layover in Atlanta before boarding at 5:55 p.m. and arriving in BCN on Wednesday, 9-8at 8:55 a.m. Good luck!
Michelle

Hey everyone....

Hope that makes sense.....that's the way I've typically done nametags in the past and it's worked well.

Sounds fantastic, You guys are absolute Legends for doing this, And Erik, I know everyone has been thanking you, and you deserve it, but I know behind every great man there is a even greater.....man :confused3, So Please pass along a big Thank you to Jason as well. :flower3:

I likely won't be around for a couple of days as I am leaving shortly to get my eyes lasered!
Wish me luck and see you on the other side of 20/20!

Carolynn

Good Luck and Pixie dust...pixiedust:

I had my email account hacked recently and all my contacts started getting "viagra" emails from me ( including airlines, DCL etc which was a worry) In the end I didn't know how to stop it so I just cancelled that email address and took out a new one. A real pain in the backside.Hope you get it stopped.

Scary, but some of the geezers on here might want those Viagra e-mails after all us princesses are dressed up in our spanx :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Krisann

Not sure what you mean, but go ahead....:thumbsup2

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Oh, I get it.....
Favourites in this house - Lucy adores the old Alice and The Little Mermaid, Bella loves the Toy Story's, DH likes Cars, I have a soft spot for Mike and Sully (Monsters Inc).

Krisann, we would love to see your EBTA book. Is it on your laptop? With current baggage restrictions, there's no need to bring the physical scrapbook for us.

Woody

Boys just don't get it, we want to see, smell, touch, you know....:sad2:

His middle name is in honor of my hubby's brother Bradley, who was killed in January 1993 just two days after he found out he was going to be a father for the first time. His son, Jacob Bradley is the one who is in New Zealand right now playing water polo.

Absolutely gorgeous, I just want to blow a raspberry on his pink little belly....OK that didn't sound so cute, kinda sounded creepy........:goodvibes

So glad all went well :thumbsup2:cool1:

I worked shipment at the Disney Store yesterday morning and I must say, the new kids and adult t-shirts that we are receiving in the US are awesome! There's even an adult Toy Story shirt! Can you guess what I'm getting for the cruise? The shirts may not be out at all locations just yet - I know my store put out the kids shirts (well, I put them out! LOL!) but I don't believe the adult shirts are going out until the weekend at some point. If you have and a chance, check them out!

OK, Rub it in! The extent of Disney stuff here is the slim pickings at Target, which is maybe 4 different tops twice a year!

I got Becca new jammies for the cruise tonight... So she is ready with a Tink set of shorts and a cammie and now a Hannah set. I also found Disney ones for me! Im so excited!! I cn now sow up for breakfast in style...

I can't find any jammies for men though... They sell Lounge pants (no shirt) on line, for more than the cost of mine and Beccas sets! :scared1::scared1:

OK, I am signing off for now - have to visit my blog... Trying to set a record and post on a daily basis now...:laughing: Since I managed to get caught up tonight, can you pretend I am Hayley and go easy on the posts for the next few hours? (I figure you listened to her so I will name drop...)

YAY, all set for PJ breakie!!!

I can't find any for men either, except the ones on DisneyShopping, and the postage to Australia is a killer! I was going to have a look at making some, went to our biggest fabric place today, the only Disney fabric is Pooh :sad2:
Will let you know if I find anything :thumbsup2

I think it was a total coincidence that it was quiet that night, I don't think this group would stop talking for anyone, not even if the Queen herself asked us. ;)

We are finally organized now we have flights to Barcelona booked, hotel booked (novotel city), BLT for afterwards (although in all fairness that was booked at the 11mth window) and flights from NYC to Dubai.

Are you at Novotel Barcelona City, avenida diagonal? If yes, we are there for Friday night! :)

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

OK favourite Newer is Lilo and Stitch as I am officially Lilo!

Classic is close between the Fox & the Hound and Oliver & Company

What a beautiful baby!

Yes she is my Dsis. I guess it would vbe best if she was under her own Dis name. Now that she is taking a moment (here and there) from farmville and every other ville facebook offers, to chat with us.

Thanks sis for throwing us a bone.

Also Dn now has a DIs name as well. Her's is "copasmile" If you want to take everyone out from under me.

Thank you Dee. I thought this may well be the case!

Linda and David are mine and Stephen's parents and are listed on the website under the listing with Nacho1337 and myself. They do not have a DIS name, but Stephen and I are keeping them up to date.

That would be why! No prob just wanted to make sure they were right on the navigator!

Oh I'm glad its done and all OK!

Calling all you scrapbook types. Any advice for a sticky paper punch? My DCL punch keeps getting stuck and has troubles getting through the paper, and then opening back up again. Any advice?

I think she's looking for the street address of the port, for the navigator (should any of us get it ahead of time!)

Sarah - I checked the 2010 Passporter book, and it says the following about the Barcelona port:

"While the Disney Magic is in the Mediterranean, it sails out of the Port of Barcelona (Port de Barcelona), which is also known as Port Vell. The Disney Magic is scheduled to dock at Moll D'Adossat Terminal D at the port.

Check in and Embarkation begin at 10:30am. Plan to arrive before 3:00pm."

I can't recall what the prices were, but assuming it's around $5/pin, I'll take the 6. That represents 4 for my family and 2 for my FIL & MIL (Sea Rogues)

Oh thanks for this. It was the street address I was after!

If you can get a shoe organiser for the back of a door or wardrobe with a hook over the end this is an easy option. For my 2nd one (first one was actually a gift from a Dis person) I actually just made pockets out of pre-cut felt and sewed them together then added a peice of string along the top to tie it up with.

Okay, I did it - I called Delta and acted like I lost my flight. They filled me in. We are on Flight 114 from Atlanta on the 17th. We leave at 5:55 and get in at 8:55. I am on hold now because they told me there is a "problem" with my reservation. My heart is beating out of control.

Hoping by the time I catch up on this thread I will find out what happened but :scared1:

Ahhh!!! I am soooo excited. They were just worried that a ticket had not been issued yet - so no big deal. Abby and I are even sitting together and the airlines said that when I check my bags in Orlando, I will not see them until Barcelona! YEAH! I don't need to worry about it. Yes, I am a worry wart and you all know I hate to fly. My night is made! Thanks to whoever made the recommendation to call Delta!:worship::worship::worship::worship:

Thank God!
