What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Well my all time favorite is Beauty and the Beast. The theme song is really the story of our dating relationship. Classic that is a rough one.

I would say Peter Pan. I waited at my window for many nights waiting for him to take me to neverland :)

I have a question that I'm sure can be answered by some of you. How do you make an FE? I'm not that handy with sewing, so if anyone has made one, especially, that doesn't include sewing, I would be grateful if you'd share your instructions.

Thanks

Well I know there is a link and some kind diser will share it I am sure. I am doing it really no sew. Found a really nice make bag that roll out and gives great pockets I with then glue on disney character :)

I have been looking at the flights that people are getting from disney and I see an interesting pattern

1: the flights are mostly full. Which makes me wonder if Disney gets a deal for helping to fill up planes. 2) Booking 2 years in advance don't you think we would get us better seats.

I am also on a basically full plane. I called Disney to make sure they knew they were dealing with a person using a scooter so when the seats are chosen most airlines have special seating for different needs.

Disney does not do any of this. I would have to call the airlines myself. To put it mildly I was not happy. When I got the info I would have to call the airline.

I got mine early than 60 days because I was afraid I would be put to far away from the washrooms. My mobility is not so great after sitting and trying to balance on a plane. Well I was able to move up a few there were only 6 seats left. Disney transportation actually release the info early I guess rethinking that I at least needed the chance to change seats.

Unfortunatley Air Canada is not great with customer service. I spent 45 minutes just trying to figure out were the washrooms were on the plane. The seating plan I was given was not matching what the Rep was telling me.

So after she moved our seats she puts me on hold. ( oh ans I was on hold for 15 minutes before I even talked to anyone) She comes back 10 minutes later and said you are right the seats are at the back at the plane. ( I am in seat 14 now :headache:

I would have to ask to use the first class washroom:headache:

Next I needed to talk to someone in medical but because the call took 45 minutes to basically get no where it was now closed.:headache:

So I get back on the phone the next day and we go through the seating again. She was not much better but said I did not need to ask permission to use the washrooms up front cause there was no first class.

Then it was what type of scooter I had and she checked each airplane:rolleyes

And then she said I needed medical clearance because I have MS. What:scared1: I said no I do not I read the list and I have nothing that even comes close to anything that would cause a problem.

Now I know why people go to Westjet. I sure do. They keep seating available for special needs. They keep a list of people who require special seating.

In fact I book to go to WDW. The next day I got a call to say my seats have already been assigned. Now that is service!!!!

It is all good cause I just plan to sleep the enitre flight so I will not have to care how far the washroom is :):cloud9:

That sucks that you had such trouble with the seats.

This is a site that Stephanie and I used when picking our seats. Really gives a lot of information.

Some people also use a small tote bag (you can get them at most craft stores...) and decorate them...

Well, my busy day is done. Becky is all settled in her new flat (it's lovely) and we managed to fit into the car most of the 17 various cases, bags and boxes! She did have to leave the books behind for us to take down next week with her desk and book case in Mark's bigger car though.....after all this moving I may start up my own business!:rotfl2:

Just one problem.....I've managed to come home with her purse in my handbag!!!! So now I ahve to post it to her tomorrow 'special delivery' as it has all her cash cards etc in......:scared1:

.......oh and it appears my email acount has been hacked and is sending wierd emails out to all my friends...sorry if you've had one! Good job Mark is an IT geek!:woohoo:

I am glad you got Becky all settled in her new flat. What a calamity you have her purse!! Glad you can get it to her so quickly!! No weird email from you so far!!

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

My all time favorite is Cinderella

My "newer" favorite is Bugs Life because it was the very first movie my DS ever saw at "the movies"

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

1. Classic: Lady and the Tramp for animated. Darby O'Gill and the Little People for regular Actors.

2. Newer: TS3 for animated. POC for regular actors.

Presenting my newest grandson. This is our fifth grandson. 6lbs, 10ozs. 19 inches long. I am in love. He looks like his brothers. This is the third for my oldest son.

Pierson Bradley H******

His middle name is in honor of my hubby's brother Bradley, who was killed in January 1993 just two days after he found out he was going to be a father for the first time. His son, Jacob Bradley is the one who is in New Zealand right now playing water polo.

What a handsome young man!! I think naming him after your brother is such a wonderful tribute!! Congratulations to the whole family.

Hey all - I'm back!

It went really well and I am doing great. Can see very well and apart from a little haloing and some minor fizziness everything in perfect. I'm thrilled with the results so far and after some healing time expect terrific vision.

Thanks for all your well wishes. It meant a lot as I was so nervous.

I am so excited for you!! I just may have to do Lasik one of these years.

My first thought is that this reminds me of the booking fiasco DCL puts us through when we try to book excursions.

Seems like some departments at DCL are not doing a very good job with either the website or accommodating people like yourself with appropriate seats or flight information. I would think someone should have made sure all this was taken care of for you.

Just my thoughts...

Amazon (the US site at least) has a great deal going on if you preorder Blu-Ray combo packs of 2 or more Disney movies, including Beauty & the Beast, Tinkerbell & the Great Fairy Rescue, A Christmas Carol and The Search for Santa Paws. Ordering 2 or more of those combo packs gets you $10 off each movie at the moment. I got the first 2 for just about $14/each after the discount, and with the pre-order price guarantee, there is always the possibility that the price could go down further by the time it ships.

Tink is scheduled to ship while we're on the cruise, and Beauty is released on October 5, so should arrive just in time for a disney movie fix to cure post cruise withdrawal.

you can find more details on slickdeals. Just wanted to share in case you hadn't seen it. The Christmas Carol combo pack includes a 3D version of the movie!

I have never looked into digital scrapbooking ..... does it work out cheaper than traditional scrapbooking?

For me the digital was a little bit more, but if I don't have to spend hours doing this and that with the paper, then to me it is worth it. And they print so beautifully! They look like cocktail table books. Also - I like Krisannes idea - build x amount into the cost of yor vacation so you are ready for it, and I also like to think that I will actually complete more books, so the money spent is wasted... (can you tell I am bitter about having 6 unfinished books sitting and staring at me...)

Love to see how something like this turns out
What software do you all use?
Lyn

Krisanne prob mentioned that it is the Creative Memories program! So easy!!!

Hey, ERIK, are you in charge of all these lists?!? My heart goes out to you! Anyway, I redid our rollcall. I put us on late dining and I put YES for FE gift lists. I thought I sent a photo of the 3 of us, but I can send another if I forgot please let me know!:grouphug:

I have many of the lists and the website. If you sent the picture to photos@transatlanticpirates.com we will get it posted - but it will probably be this weekend as work is crazy insane right now!

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Classic for me is Snow White. Becca loves Cinderella (go figure...) not sure about Stephens favorite classic... Or Glenns for that matter...

New for me is Lion King. Just the original! LOVE it!! For becca it is probably a toss up between Cars, Up and the Tinkerbelle movies. Stephen I think is Cars or TS1.

I was just thinking that I needed to figure out who was doing the last FE group and then ran across your post. I'd like to join this group. It will be me and DS15. Thanks.

I noticed I forgot to edit my post on page one and insert the email address... Taken care of now... Sorry to all the potential Strawberries out there!!

Presenting my newest grandson. This is our fifth grandson. 6lbs, 10ozs. 19 inches long. I am in love. He looks like his brothers. This is the third for my oldest son.

Congratulations!! He is adorable!!

Wonderful news!! Seems the group is full of it tonight!!

Hey that is my neck of the woods. We are not going this year with the cruise and my son having surgery. Maybe next year before the Alaska cruise. I was thinking of trying Lake Gaston for a change in pace. Have you ever been there?
...
I had no idea they had this. We lost all three of our CM consultants. Well, they moved. So I am not up to date on what they have. I love their books.

Due to our jobs we like to go where there is no published phone number... We fell in love with Corolla before we had kids and love to go. The drive is hell from Atlanta so we don't go often... September is when we had been going, but the past 3 years have all been Disney vacations. It is a great season as most kids are in school (we are on fall break) and the proces really drop.

Calling all you scrapbook types. Any advice for a sticky paper punch? My DCL punch keeps getting stuck and has troubles getting through the paper, and then opening back up again. Any advice?

I think she's looking for the street address of the port, for the navigator (should any of us get it ahead of time!)

Wax paper is supposed to work, but I have found that it is a 50/50 thing...

I have a question that I'm sure can be answered by some of you. How do you make an FE? I'm not that handy with sewing, so if anyone has made one, especially, that doesn't include sewing, I would be grateful if you'd share your instructions.

Thanks

On the main DIS board there is a sticky that has a link to a no sew one. If you want to conceed defeat (as I did) Gradys Mommy does beautiful work and sells them on EBay. :thumbsup2

Okay, I did it - I called Delta and acted like I lost my flight. They filled me in. We are on Flight 114 from Atlanta on the 17th. We leave at 5:55 and get in at 8:55. I am on hold now because they told me there is a "problem" with my reservation. My heart is beating out of control.

Atlanta??? Is this just a stop over? :confused3

...So after she moved our seats she puts me on hold. ( oh ans I was on hold for 15 minutes before I even talked to anyone) She comes back 10 minutes later and said you are right the seats are at the back at the plane. ( I am in seat 14 now :headache:

www.seatguru.com is a great resource.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 You select the carrier on the left, and then the type of plane (you can get that off the carriers websitse - most flights list equipment). You then get a seating chart. People also rate seats - which is a nice feature. The individual ratings are not visible - but they list seats with red, yellow nad green coding and then why it got the color... I use it any time I have to fly for work... Oh - they also show lavs, galleys and if your seat has a power port or not...

OK, I am having a case of Beagle withdrawl!!! I miss Lynnes witty posts! Hope that she is having a great time on her holiday!!

I had a feeling they would do that when I booked several months ago....I checked and it would do me no good to rebook because of the penalties, so I am staying with what I have and hoping that my GTY status will pay off in the long run. After all....being with all my DIS friends is well worth the price I paid :grouphug: (PRICELESS)

I had called DCL the other day to see if I could apply my CM discount to our cruise. We would have had to have cancelled, lost our deposit and then rebooked. It wasn't worth it, sadly. :(

What a sweetheart! I love babies...not ready to have one just yet, but I do love them!

Yes, I am a worry wart and you all know I hate to fly.

Wow, you just totally described me in one sentence! LOL!!!! I hate to fly (I'll be taking meds for sure) and I worry about everything! LOL!!!!

As far as our favorite Disney Movies.

DH - Mary Poppins, POTC and Wall-E
Me - Cinderella, One and Only Genuine Original Family Band and Parent Trap.

It's hard for me to pick my favorite Disney movie! I have so many that it's difficult to decide. :)

Welcome to all of the newcomers! :yay:

I worked shipment at the Disney Store yesterday morning and I must say, the new kids and adult t-shirts that we are receiving in the US are awesome! There's even an adult Toy Story shirt! Can you guess what I'm getting for the cruise? The shirts may not be out at all locations just yet - I know my store put out the kids shirts (well, I put them out! LOL!) but I don't believe the adult shirts are going out until the weekend at some point. If you have and a chance, check them out! :)

Pin Update

We have received a quote back from a pin maker. They only make pins in lots of 100 at a cost of $5.70 per pin(euro's 4,50) If we only make 50, the cost will be higher.
They will be 50mm(1.9 inches?), when we do smaller they will cost less.

Since we only have orders for about 48 pins, does anyone want more pins?

There is still one manufacturer who wants more information from me to give us a quote but I think the price will be about the same. I also get in contact whit a company in the USA the prices are the same and they will do 200.

We also need a higher resolution copy of the logo as the one on line will not work. If we can't find one, we may have to change the pin.

Let me now what you think about it.

Connie

Hi Connie,
I would like 2 pins please.

Thank You,
Michelle

Good morning/afternoon/evening all!

I likely won't be around for a couple of days as I am leaving shortly to get my eyes lasered! :scared1: :cool2: :scared:

I hope I don't miss too much!

Wish me luck and see you on the other side of 20/20!

Carolynn

I was going to wish you luck, but see you already are done. How wonderful!

By the way, I did have a cabin on my cruise about 5 years ago and they took down the number. About one month later, I logged back on and noticed that I was upgraded so don't be discouraged - you never know.:)

Oh, I don't care one way or the other since we are fine w/the category we reserved, but I guess it's just a little unsettling to see the # disappear all of a sudden, especially since we'd given the # out to Erik and the Transatlantic Pirates website. Plus I hate not knowing anything about our flights or even which airline (Delta or United).

My family will be joining this big DIS group for the WBTA. Joining in late (just got home from Baltic which was wonderful)

Me, dh, dd16, dd14, dd9, dd7 and ds7.

We did the EBTA and Med btb in April, loved it and are repeating it with the last med and WBTA back to back.

Kind of late in the planning but hoping to meet some new DIS friends and see some familiar faces again.

Welcome onboard!

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Classic: Bambi (my first Disney movie)
New: I can't pick, I love so many of them (Meet the Robinsons, Emperor's New Groove, Lilo and Stitch, all the Pixars, etc, etc. Yes, my taste is a little "different" ;) .)

The last time we used DCL air out of Dulles they put us on United changing to Luftansa in Frankfurt. This time we did the air deviation asking for United but through Munich as we have been through Frankfurt twice and it is not easy to navigate. We are just tired of going through security three times to get to our next gate. The Munich airport is much easier to navigate. We only fly United because we automatically get economy plus due to our status. I have our seats, but cannot upgrade yet because the ticket has not been issued. Check with United because that is DCL's preferred carrier out of Dulles.

We're supposed to fly out of Dulles, so maybe I should check w/United. Thanks for the heads-up.

ok, so I have been up for hours and we are working through the bitter end of a system down, so I need to stay up a bit longer... Sorry - you are being subjected to my ramblings! :lmao:

I got Becca new jammies for the cruise tonight... So she is ready with a Tink set of shorts and a cammie and now a Hannah set. I also found Disney ones for me! Im so excited!! I cn now sow up for breakfast in style... :rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao::rotfl2:

I can't find any jammies for men though... They sell Lounge pants (no shirt) on line, for more than the cost of mine and Beccas sets! :scared1::scared1:

I am not crafty enough to sew (remember I bought my FE and can't seem to finish a scrapbook...), so if anyone knows of a place to get mens jammies, plese let me know!

OK, I am signing off for now - have to visit my blog... Trying to set a record and post on a daily basis now...:laughing: Since I managed to get caught up tonight, can you pretend I am Hayley and go easy on the posts for the next few hours? (I figure you listened to her so I will name drop...)

Krisanne prob mentioned that it is the Creative Memories program! So easy!!!!!

That is a good way to look at it - the extra cost (which depends on which size book you do and how many pages you put in and whose products you are using) is made up for by the quickness and ease of the books. If a traditional book takes say 40 hours (or 10 years :) ) and the digital takes 4 hours or so tops - then you are saving 36 hours - and lets say it costs about $50 more to do the digital book that comes out to 1.40 an hour! I am worth more than that :) And I do not have tons and tons of stuff sitting around that I have not gotten around to ever using that I have spent so much on - I still have supplies to do my son's baby book (he is 13 now) that I still have sitting around. Had never thought about it that way!

Krisann

Ok made it to page 60 now.

Check Claires or Icining. They both carry them for a fraction of the cost.

I got my tiara from Claires the other year (and will be bringing it with me).

That was what I was worried about. I am usually all of a lather anyway when i am getting ready. Need to look at plan B and C and perhaps D!!!:lmao: I'm ok when i am standing, but not sitting down if you know what I mean. Perhaps only a few ladies might understand.:rolleyes1

I tried on a corset at Fredrick's of Hollywood on Monday. I did not think it was bad while I was standing, but when I sat down I could barely breath. Needless to say I passed on getting it as I need to be able to sit.

What is your (and people in your family's) favorite Disney Movie - both classic and "newer" (like toy story, Cars, etc.)

Dh's is : POTC all 3 and oldie is Treasure Island
Mne is: Enchanted( the King and Queen's waltz scene always makes me cry!) and oldie is Snow White.

Thanks for more flight info. Today DCL told me I needed to wait 10 days!
So, if I play dumb(I can do well:rotfl:) I might ge my info!:rotfl2:

The baby is beautiful...congrats on the addition to the family.
And speaking of family... our son's wedding is this saturday and joining the herd of grandchildren will be 2 more! Bringing the total to...16 :scared1:
Cassie 16 and Amy 7.
(7 girls and 9 boys)

What a tribe!
