PJ - what level stateroom is this for? I may have to go and learn how to be a travel agent!!

Generally they will put TAs in Cat 11s, then possible upgrades after higher paying guests.

I have my TA diploma and certs, just not affiliated with an Agency right now.:upsidedow

Pin Update

We have received a quote back from a pin maker. They only make pins in lots of 100 at a cost of $5.10 per pin. If we only make 50, the cost will be higher.
They will be 50mm(1.9 inches?), when we do smaller they will cost less.

Since we only have orders for about 48 pins, does anyone want more pins?

There is still one manufacturer who wants more information from me to give us a quote but I think the price will be about the same. I also get in contact whit a company in the USA the prices are the same and they will do 200.

We also need a higher resolution copy of the logo as the one on line will not work. If we can't find one, we may have to change the pin.

Let me now what you think about it.

Connie

Connie, two please for the boys.

I keep seeing that women need to have their legs covered to go into churches in Europe. Does that mean I need to wear pants, skirts or can you wear capris? I am assuming that means no shorts. Should you also wear closed shoes and not sandals?

If this is true, why can't we use it for the lanyard pin, as well as the lanyard nametags?

Or if not, is there something else we could put on the left instead? Ideas, anyone?

You can't use the design as the company making them is selling them to us.

Nothing in particular. There are a few groups of people going, and I was looking at thier itinerary. We are not particular - we were hoping to check into the hotel, drop luggage and grab a 2 day HOHO pass and then play it by ear. Again my fear is that the hotel will not take luggage at that time of day... Figuring we land at about 9, and will be out of the airport in an hour or less...

Why not email them and ask? I emailed Le Meridien to see if they would take our luggage early. They replied with a very courteous email that they would be happy to take our luggage at 8:30 or earlier if our room was not ready.

The navigator looks great - thanks for your efforts

If you adding post cruise dates - we are celebrating our 19th on Oct. 5.

Connie - We prefer Pin #2

Brent is on board for Baltic cruises. I wouldn't mind him or Rachel.

Pj

But I do love that Aussie voice each morning... :goodvibes

only in the high 70's here. Summer may start here soon though....we can only hope!

I hope not!! I want to get on the road soon for a short 6 state loop before we leave for the cruise. I will have a laptop and internet service with me for that though!

Oh, oh!!!! Are you booked now? :dance3::woohoo:

And when we come visit you, we can also maybe hop across the border for a bit or perhaps PJ can meet up with us in NY for a day or two! :grouphug:

Hopefully next week... I may have a payout sooner than expected... then I have to sign up for everything and I hope I'm not too late...

OK thanks to Penny and her marvels she has managed to get out a preview copy of the navigator! Warning this is the first preview and I expect there to be mistakes so please point them out! Sandi (Hoagie Pie) appologies for the spelling mistakes as I think I caught some and not others on your name!

Anyway the end document will be a duplux version that can be printed then folded into a booklet but this is just the main pdf version.

It should be helpful for those first timers out there and seasoned DCL's
alike hopefully. If anyone thinks of anything else to add let me know. As said before I've left out the Dis Name list as it seemed the best idea for now as most people are waiting on room assignments

I'm pretty sure it's Brent

I believe that is correct , I talked to Rachel the other day and she was in the UK getting ready to move to Germany to over see her new ship the "Dream" and she did say it looked as if Brent would be the CD for our Journey ...

Elizabeth Peters in the pseudonym for Barbara Mertz. She also writes under the name of Barbara Michaels. Her books are mystery thrillers and books about Egyptology. She holds a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Chicago.

Under her Elizabeth Peters pseudonym, my favorite characters are Amelia Peabody, Vickie Bliss and Jacqueline Kirby.

Amelia Peabody Emerson, the heroine is an Egyptologist and is married with one child of her body, Ramses, and two others of her heart: Nefret Forth (3 years older than Ramses) and, later, Sennia (ca. 25 years younger). The stories all relate to the "Golden Age" of Egyptology and nearly all are set in Egypt, the excavations providing the backdrop for the mystery/adventure plots.

The timeline begins in the 1880s with Amelia's decision to see the world as an unexpectedly-wealthy, feminist spinster, and ends with the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922.

The Vicky Bliss novels follow the adventures of an American professor of art history who keeps getting involved in international crime and her love interest, a charming art thief known as Sir John Smythe. Another Peters novel, The Camelot Caper (1969), while not technically a Vicky Bliss story, features Smythe.

Though she only wrote four books in the Jacqueline Kirby series, you may enjoy them as well Jacqueline Kirby is a librarian with a very large purse and a knack for solving mysteries. Jacqueline makes her first appearance as an unwilling detective in The Seventh Sinner. Though it was intended as a stand-alone novel, her maturity, quirkiness, and pursuit of romantic relationships made her a standout. The character blossomed with Murders of Richard III and Die For Love, the latter of which featured her wearing increasingly outrageous costumes, and launching on a career as a romance novelist. This new storyline continues with Jacqueline writing a sequel to a "famous" prehistoric romance novel in Naked Once More.

All the novels can be enjoyed in any order, but the stories are highly sequential in nature and are probably better appreciated if read in order of publication.

You can read lots more and get a list of her books at her official website.

She is one of my favorite authors too!

OMG! Got back from the beach and realized I have 30 something pages to catch up on. I did see my name on something that was e-mailed via Sarah that I typed someone's name wrong or something - I apologize. I have more lists and stuff going on. I won't read the boards till tomorrow because I am getting ready for night-nights.

We had tons of people at the beach house this weekend and lots of laughs. Has anyone played the card game 99 - sooo much fun!

Hope everyone is well and will start reading tomorrow morning. If I need to do something, just PM me on the medication/scrapbook list. THANK YOU!!!:thumbsup2

Hello all fellow TA cruisers....my DW and I are both getting a little antsy.....we have neither a stateroom assingment and have no idea what our flights will be both to Barcelona on the Friday night before the cruise or our flight home from Orlando after the cruise.....I know they should be assigned shortly but the waiting is starting to get to us....sometimes checking twice or even three times a day.....

Tom, the August 17th Wonder and the 2nd last Med cruise were getting GTY assignments on the GTY thread today. I think we should see something starting in the next two weeks. I know that some of the air assignments have been received so that portion should be soon.

Nice to meet a fellow enthusiast!! Do you also like Barbara Rosenblatt's vocal renditions of the novels as well?

I haven't listened to any of the books on CD. Many years ago I listened to a book on CD and the voice of the reader just didn't match to the voice I had already imagined the narrator to have and have never tried again. Though of late I've thought about giving it another go around so I can listen to something other than music while I'm on the treadmill at the gym - with your positive recommendation I just might have to download the latest book and give it another try!

I feel your pain! Seemed like we would never get our room assignments on my last cruise - at one point I was checking hourly from the time I got up til I went to bed at night. If I remember correctly we didn't get our assignments until 35 days out - hopefully you won't have to wait that long!
