Good morning everyone !! We are off to the dentist today for check ups ... I am terrified of the dentists so I hope I don't need any treatment :scared1:
Hope to schedule a hygienist appointment in the week before the cruise so I can have shiny white Simon Cowell teeth.

Hope you have a painless visit to the dentist!!

OK thanks to Penny and her marvels she has managed to get out a preview copy of the navigator! Warning this is the first preview and I expect there to be mistakes so please point them out! Sandi (Hoagie Pie) appologies for the spelling mistakes as I think I caught some and not others on your name!

Anyway the end document will be a duplux version that can be printed then folded into a booklet but this is just the main pdf version.

It should be helpful for those first timers out there and seasoned DCL's
alike hopefully. If anyone thinks of anything else to add let me know. As said before I've left out the Dis Name list as it seemed the best idea for now as most people are waiting on room assignments

Dis Navigator Version 1

Looks great , could you add we are celebrating our honeymoon as we werent able to have one in April and delayed it for this cruise , also we will be celebrating 1 year anniversary Sept 30 (Are actually first lunch date when we met)..

This is incredible!!! Thanks so much for capturing it all and putting it in one place for us!!!

Trouble with these is, what do you do to pack to go home? Can you borrow a vacuum?

You can roll the travel ones, and I have stephen lay on the regular ones... (I have to make him do some work for the fantastic trip we are going on, right?!? :lmao::lmao: Besides, why else bring a 13 year old? :rotfl2::rotfl2:)

Sadly, the end of a wonderful 3 day weekend. I am just not sure I want to go to work tomorrow.

Did some shopping this weekend. Was in desperate need of new unmentionables. The girls needed a lift. They were starting to become a trip hazard.:lmao: Happened to hit a Talbot store and fell in live with a skirt. Having it shipped to me. Will definately be a cruise item. Had to share how wonderful it is to go into a store and be able to buy clothes off the rack. So used to ordering from a catalog. Think I will wait another month to have my gowns resized. In the process of enjoying my new found self, I also cut my hair off. I took off enough to donate. It is the shortest I have ever worn, but I like it. Everyone says it makes my face look younger. How can that be a bad thing.:worship:

This week I think I am going to use the gift certificate my son gave me for a personal trainer and a month membership to the gym. I want to tone, tone, tone. I am a stressor and when you meet me, you will see where all that cortisal collected. I want to get this gut off:thumbsup2

Well there was to much info !

We need pictures of the new you!

Wow! Great job!!

Noel, I like your smileys A LOT, but Smiley Central doesn't work on a Mac, does it?!?

I honestly don't know. I just downloaded Smiley Central into my browser to use as a tab. On Win 7 you can just right mouse copy image which I paste into a browser, then copy on to my hard drive. From there, I upload to Photobucket. This way I have in three places, my email, my hard drive and on Photobucket.

There is a Bracegirdle in Tolkeins's Hobbit stories too! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the link to that author, don't know why I havent seen them before
Looks like my cruise reading is sorted!
Lyn

If you decide to read Elizabeth Peters, do read them in order starting with Crocodile in the Sandbank. I own all her books both in Hardbound and on tape.

Just my thoughts...

WOW! Thank you so much!

In the past 24 hours, there's been a little "something" nagging at me to get a Pacsafe, so I made a purchase for one tonight. I even pulled out the two bags that I usually choose from to carry on vacation that go over my chest in hopes that I could feel confident that they'll be okay, but it didn't make the feeling go away. I'll just take it as a sign that there's a good reason I've had that flutter in my mind to get one.

I just ordered 2 for Tru and I. We got the TourSafe. Nice and big enough for carry-on the plane (the purse carry-on), but small enough to use as a purse. It also fits my iPad! I ordered a camera strap too as I am bringing my 'good' camera.

Madeira Tour post

Thanks for posting that! Really looking forward to our tour.

Hey fellow cruisers. It's been a while since I posted. You guys post sooo much!

I don't know if I will still be joining you guys on the TA. We just got word that my uncle who has been fighting cancer for over a year has taken a turn for the worse. And then a few days later we found out that my 7 year old, second cousin (my cancer stricken, uncle's grandson) has Leukemia. We are just devistated, especially for my cousin who has been watching his father struggling with cancer & now his 7 year old was just diagnosed. :sad1: This is gonna be a long road. My immediate reaction was to cancel our trip, but I don't know. I'm going to keep planning. For one thing it will give me something to focus on other than CANCER. And if we do end up going, I don't want to be going crazy last minute trying to figure out what we're doing.

Thanks guys.

I am so sorry to hear about that. I hope that you find peace with whatever decision you make about your trip.

Pin Update

We have received a quote back from a pin maker. They only make pins in lots of 100 at a cost of $5.10 per pin. If we only make 50, the cost will be higher.
They will be 50mm(1.9 inches?), when we do smaller they will cost less.

Since we only have orders for about 48 pins, does anyone want more pins?

There is still one manufacturer who wants more information from me to give us a quote but I think the price will be about the same. I also get in contact whit a company in the USA the prices are the same and they will do 200.

We also need a higher resolution copy of the logo as the one on line will not work. If we can't find one, we may have to change the pin.

Let me now what you think about it.

Connie

I will take 5. Thanks Connie!

We are doing well here and very excited for our trip. It just gets bigger and bigger every day! I've laid out a suitcase for plopping in all the things unique to our cruise and without much one is almost full! We have 4 suitcases and a garment bag that we are bringing so hopefully this will be enough!

I have bought two dresses myself. Oops, three. Two are casual but very nice, and one is more formal. Not a ballgown, but a knee-length princess-waisted drapey thing. With pantyhose (and Spanx!) and high heels and a wrap it will look very nice.

I also bought my chocolate for my candy swap. All I can say is too bad TotallyAngelic isn't in my candy swap group....;)

As Tru mentioned we got the FEs all done in one fell swoop together. They are two bags right now - might put them together for one super-gift for the wow-factor. Would people object to that? We signed up individually, but the two things together is certainly more than enough value/items for us to feel that we wouldn't be cheating anyone out of two good FE gifts.

We have all our cash and trip things printed out. We could leave tomorrow! :rotfl:

I have 3.5 weeks left of vacation, then 6 weeks on-call, then we leave! One of my vacation weeks is being spent as a camp 'nurse' and the family is joining me for the week for some camp time (woodsy, lake, kids' programme, beach, all-inclusive homey food, all FREE in exchange for my work there - yay!).

The toddler at our house is improving on his potty learning day by day. I am really hoping that he is more reliable before we leave. He's been the slow but steady learner, but we get no forewarning. I'm going to really be on the ball with a schedule for him and carry plenty of spares and ziploc bags! Sigh. This stage, too, will pass.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Heading to my sister's soon to enjoy their big pool and to fetch our repaired Wii. It is very hot here today with humidity through the roof. There may be blurring of the horizon between the pool and surrounding air...

Hasta la vista,
C

Thanks for all of your hard work!! I will take the time later today and read it!
!

Looks like they have the same issue we had in 2007! Would have thought they would have sorted this out by now!

Pretty incompetent on DCL's part. Reminds me of the discussion of the website and shore excursions....

Gismo1554 - the Navagator is amazing. Thank you so much for all your hard work. My other half, Bob, was an editor with the SF Examiner/Chronicle, the local newspaper, and an English teacher. If there is anything we can do to help let us know.

Val

DH and I are getting excited and he is starting to look at some of the posts. He has one question what does the pin look like? We are pin collectors.

Come on everybody, are you all too lazy to be out of bed by 9am, or are you afraid we'll laugh at your jimmie jams? We all know what kind of underwear we have, It's only fair we get to check out your jammies too!!!....

So true! PLUS, remember that you will have been gaining several hours of sleep by this point in time of the cruise! SIGN UP PEEPS!!

:scared1:well my hubby could not come cause briefs are not pj's and a little riske for Disney :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Well, you could have him wear the Chipmunks boxers like TotallyAngelic Sarah got Tony! :lmao:

Can't wait to see them!! (Well, I can do without seeing the Spanx!)

Of course not!!! It's exciting to work on them, isn't it?!! I just can't wait to give mine, but I am still not finished, so I need to get to that point still!

How nice!! Sounds like a rewarding time in more ways than one!

The toddler at our house is improving on his potty learning day by day....Sigh. This stage, too, will pass.

Indeed a trying time, yet remember all signs of improvement is progress and brings you closer to the goal. Hang in there!

Hope everyone is having a great day. Heading to my sister's soon to enjoy their big pool ....

Ahhh....the pool sounds GREAT! Have a great time!
It's terrible hot here, too. I went out to run errands at 9, and when I got back, I already knew that I won't be going back out if it can be avoided!

Can people let me know if they have Fish Extenders and if they want anything specifically written on the postcard?

We have a FE and would love people's name's, addresses (if they are willing) as senders. If people want to write a personal message that would be lovely.

From what I have seen you have put a lot of work into it. DH and I are going on errands today and will be taking the copy with us to look over. We are getting excited. Started getting clothes ready and the lists.
