I wonder how many Palo bookings people in concierge actually can book? That could be a part of the problem. For goodness sake, there are so many sea days this cruise there should be space for every cabin to have one of each booking, particularly considering many people don't even want to go to High Tea.

I suppose it wouldn't be fair if people who don't have internet access and can't book till on the cruise embarkation day didn't have any chance because it was only open for online ressies though.

A comment on the concierge bookings. I did not book ahead for anything for our 2007 NYE cruise as my concierge host told me on the phone I could get anything I wanted once on the ship. I was able to book all our excursions, spa times etc. once on board without exception once I was on the ship.

Now maybe that was just that particular cruise, but I rather doubt it.

We are a special group here on the DIS and I do know there is a whole lot of people who are on the ship who don't know about the DIS. However, that being said I wonder what the percentage of persons booking on the net versus on the ship may have something to do with the % that is allocated online.

It is much more in DCL's favor to have more excursions, Palo and Spa treatments shown online as they have a guaranteed revenue stream for if you cancel after the three day window, you are charged. It is just as easy to release those ressies if they are canceled and show them to be available again. Perhaps they have had too many people cancel at the last minute??? :confused3

Just my thoughts...

I booked last night as well. When I logged in and went to Palo to book brunch (there were not tea's avaiable) I choose a brunch and then it gave me an error and tried again still got an erorr, so backed out and started again. I lucked out and got a brunch on 9/30 and dinner on 9/23, 2 spa appointments (massage and alone time) and 2 excursions 12-Metre Regatta for St. Maarten and Virgin Islands Sail, Snorkel and Beach Adventure in Tortola.

77 days till my vacation starts and so much to do. I did stumble on a dress at Burlington Coat Factory last week for $35. So need to try it on and see if it is a keeper. I am working on breaking out of my comfort zone of black dresses - this one is purple!

Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there.

For anyone that might be interested in prepaying for this tour while to ratio of dollar to euro is still fairly low, I just paid for John and I via paypal.

I said the money was a gift. The cost including fees was 60.30 Euros for a transfer from my bank which translated to $76.52 American or $1.2689 per Euro.

I was wondering if you booked a pre-cruise hotel stay or airfare through the DCL website, and if so, if that would be throwing off the count until your vacation starts.
Nope, no precruise Disney stuff. :confused3

Hope you all got everything you wanted booked tonight. My family and I are new to the DisBoards. We are doing the last Med and the TA, back2back. I have just finished reading about 100+ posts. You all sound like very experienced cruisers. This will be our family's 4th Disney Cruise. It will be me, my dh age 39 (he will be turning 40 while on the med cruise on 9-15), ds age 12, dd age 8, and g-ma (my mom). This will be g-ma's first ever cruise, so she is very excited! I signed up on the "roll call", but would also like to do the FE group, scavenger hunt, etc. It all sounds like so much fun. We are also interested in the West Madeira private excursion. I tried to PM Noel, but wasn't able to til I have 10 posts.

WELCOME ABOARD!!!
Hi everyone, some great info on this thread, I just thought I would introduce myself (be gentle lol)
There is me, Tim and my DW Kerrie, we are from Yorkshire in the U.K. and love everything Disney, we got married in Florida in 2003 on our first trip together to WDW and have been back every year since. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise and can't wait  We bought DVC at Bay Lake Tower last year while on the Magic and have booked this cruise with DVC points (only 330 for both of us :thumbsup2 )
We fly to Barcelona on the 17th with Easyjet from Doncaster and are staying at the Marriot Reannaisance for the night.
I was also up at 5am this morning and managed to get Palo dinner for the day and time that I wanted as well as the 2 shore excursions I wanted, but you can add me to the growing list who couldn't get brunch :sad1: so I will keep checking online or try onboard.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better (I think I know a couple of you already) not long now :banana:Tim

WELCOME TO YOU AS WELL!!!!

Well a pretty good day, perfect day is in just under 3 months ;) :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2
Does anyone know what nights are the theme nights? especially the pirate night, as I want to book Palo, and don't want to miss the pirate night.

Best info I have gotten is on St Marteen night. :confused3

It is my understanding that they will release more for the 75 day mark, and that they hold some back for people that want to book once on board.

Yes, don't give up hope!

Ours is the two old overweight, out of shape fun loving geezers.:rotfl2:

No, that one would be us!! :lmao:

I just can't wait till we set sail on this adventure.:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Second that! :dance3::woohoo:

OK! So we were away for the weekend...and it was not practical to get up at 5am UK time..and try to pay for an Internet Access..that was not even available to pay for.........so we missed everything. No bookings for Palo, the nights we wish for....nor even nights we not wish for. Checked just.............and rubbish bookings left.
Am so not happy.........Surely there must be a better fairer system?
:-( :confused3

Oh no! Fingers crossed you'll get something after all though x

Well they must actually save a whole load of reservations for the concierge guests then if they don't have to book beforehand. It is funny about the Spa treatments though and why they don't have them all to book prior. Why just those online?

They seem to really go out of their way for the few concierge guests but I suspect the majority are just held for shipboard bookings.

I have no clue about the Spa treatment, especially the rainforest passes. It would certainly tell them how many people were wanting them if nothing else.

All in all, a very inefficient booking process for such a major company.

The other thing that might release some spare places is when those who get the group room confirmed then have to cancel their individual bookings. Perhaps we should all keep checking and let people know if there are any come available.

Is this per person?

Let me know if you are interested in the private tour. If we get a few more besides the four of us, I will inquire about special pricing. I got a rate which was a bit high but it included all the admissions and transportation to and from the ship.[/COLOR]

I am interested.

Yep...it was still daylight and a little rainy too!

It was and the folks followed the ship out waving Mickey Hands. In fact we were given Mickey Hand on a stick (like a poster) that had our cruise and dates printed on it. Do you remember those?

Yes I do remember that and I still have my Mickey Hands!

Well, the past couple of weeks has been busy. Which in my line of work isn't a good thing:sad2:. Finally, got caught up with the thread. Well, I'll admit I skipped pages 67 to 111, hope there was nothing important. :goodvibes

The following people are still outstanding on cruise and/or tasting shirt payments.

Good thing I logged back on today, sent you a PM.

It's been so busy we haven't even booked our excusions. On the to-do list tonight.

I promise I'll be better in keeping up with things from now on.

Welcome to the new cruise members.

Jon

Tim, that is a great deal on the DVC points for this cruise.
Welcome!

:boat: I have the Regatta booked, too!

That's an awesome price for a new dress!! Good for you for expanding your comfort level with color! I hope it works out for you!

.....If I am remembering right, it was still daylight when we left :confused3
Yep...it was still daylight and a little rainy too!

In regards to sunlight, keep in mind this is about a month later than the 2007 cruise. Sunset on September 18 in Barcelona will be 7:56 pm, so it should be beautiful watching the shoreline as we sail away!

John and I are thinking of doing a private tour in Gibralter to Pillars of Hercules, St Michaels Cave, Highest Point with Barbary and Apes and Great Siege Tunnels. Does anyone want to join us?

DH and I are struggling because none of the DCL excursions seems to do exactly what we want to do, which includes the St. Michaels Cave, Great Seige Tunnels, and someplace up high where we can get some awesome pictures. So we were going to look into a taxi or tour. I saw another's post about taking the bus up and walking down past all the sights.

I am waiting to see if mdwoodman posts costs and if he knows about long lines. I can take a tour of the sites I want but my big concern is wasting time in very long lines which I have seen posted on other threads.

We will probably take his advice if it is cost effective and if the lines are not too long.

I had a quote from a tour operator (including all admissions) but it was about the same cost as DCL but did go where we wanted. I was thinking just like the tour we are taking on Madeira if there were more of us the price might go way down. Plus often times local tour guides are just more knowledgeable and you get more for your money.

Just my thoughts...
