OMG, that is too much! I'm still friends with many people who are truly friend's with the Disney character on FB from when I was on my CP so I can't wait to see what they have to say! LOL! Poor Mickey!

I absolutely LOVED this job. I was the admin assistant to the VP for the medical department. We were in charge of scheduling the doctors and nurses for both the US Fleet and P&O Cruises in the UK as well as working with budgets and preparation for all the newbuilds that were coming out. I loved it so much that even though my day wasn't supposed to begin until 8:00 a.m. I was usually there at 6:30 or so so that I could call the office in the UK and we'd chat up a storm.

The boss was a bit, well, I guess "questionable in people skills" would be the nice way to describe it. I could do no wrong in his eyes (STOP LAUGHING!!!!) as I sized him up the moment I met him as someone whom I would NEVER want to be on his bad side. Yes, sir; no, sir; of COURSE I can do that, sir! (Hmmmmmm..........maybe THAT'S what they meant by brown-nosing...) All of his other assistants lasted a couple weeks at the most; I outlasted him and continued on to HIS replacement!

Alas, when another large company acquired Princess and P&O (they shall remain nameless - but their initials are Carnival Cruise Line) things just didn't continue in the same vein.....

Ah, well, life is still good! (and we can still do Friends and Family cruises with Princess - gotta love a deal!)

I just got off the phone with DCL and we are receiving a $224 shipboard credit for the fuel surcharge. I was offered a refund to my credit card or the shipboard credit. I just mentioned the fuel surcharge and the wonderful gentleman on the phone immediately gave me my options without me asking for the refund. It was definitely worth the call.

Shown below by DIS name is what is owed. This includes shipping. We can't order shirts until the finds have been collected - and we sail in 93 days. So we need to act fast (unless someone has about $1500 sitting around and they want to bank roll the screening process! )!

I heard back from two Gibralter tour operators today that they were fully booked for Wednesday, Sep 22, the day we are in port. Sounds like DCL may have booked up the good tour guides!!

Both of the operators advised me to find a licensed guide for a taxi tour outside the port!!

We're in Gibraltar Mon, Sept 20th... Wed, Sept 22 we're in Madeira.

With Sunday being the day lots of us will be booking tours and other things on DCL, we are trying to decide if we will use DCL excursions or other options. We would like to tour the island, ride the cable car and the toboggan. We have a tasting at the Blandy's Madeira at 4:30 so we would want to be dropped there.

John and I are considering using Daniel Madeira Taxis for an excursion. Anyone else interested? As you see, the more persons on the tour, the cheaper the tour. DCL tour is $155 per person for same thing.

Are you using a TA? I'm with Dreams, so I'm guessing DCL wouldn't even listen to the question, much less do something about it.

I didn't have a specific plan at this point beyond the cable car, toboggan market and going to Blandy's. I was going to wait for them to come back to me with an itinerary.

I told them basically I wanted to tour from as soon as we got off the ship until Blandy's and wanted to see what they came up with.

I got "It's a Girl!" balloons to welcome Daisy home. The blue star is in memory of her brother, Sidney, who we lost to a tragic accident on Sunday, June 13, 2010. He will always be a twinkle in our eyes and a star shining down upon us.

I just heard from them yesterday that Daniel was booked but they offered me to book with another driver that Daniel could suggest. Don't know how many drivers he has like that though.

Thanks for the heads up. I have emailed them and just waiting to hear back. I hope they have more drivers available or can make them available. I would think that with DCL coming to the island, taxis will be in demand..
