Harrogate:headache: only place Ive ever had a parking ticket in 20 years of driving!

Yes, that's us!!!:lmao: The traffic wardens are very vigilant and we like it that way!!!;) Well, now we do. John got a ticket before we moved here. We live close to the centre with restricted parking. We have a residents pass we pay for, but we do like it when the traffic warden's slam a ticket on illegally parked cars.

I don't like it, however, that the restrictions are in force on Bank Holidays and evenings. I think that is unfair on the tourists we get here. The wardens go round in cars to the car parks etc. You also have to be careful not to park in a loading bay on these days thinking it is ok too!! We have seen a lot of people caught out with that.

Noel, how did you get on?
i got most things I wanted except bruch, oh well, not the end of the world, but that was pretty annoying this am I can tell you, I also booked dinner at palo, exotic rassul x2, snorkol at tortola and personal trainer on a sea day for an hour, always been really curious about this, although I am a bit shy and may cancel. Not enough time on cc this time for parasailing.
I agree, its nice your dh hepls with planning, Len says " yes, whatever you think" sometimes I like it,sometimes I wish he would make a decision.

John would die a million deaths if I booked the exotic rassul!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

It does sometimes work for good that John isn't that interested in the planning as if I asked him if I should book some things he possibly would say he isn't bothered about that, but if I don't ask I just book it and he has to make do!!!:rotfl:

Seriously, I am not worried aboout the fees. The very vast majority were without fees, so, please no stress!!

Any fees associated with my purchase please let me know ...you shouldn't be out of pocket as you are already doing so much for us all

Yes, please pm me with her information. I would really like to get at least one combo of this made for the cruise.

This is a beautiful capsule wardrobe ..... hope you are able to get it made for you.

He was a great Dad!! We lost him in 2005 to complications from his COPD.

When I was growing up, we never bought tv's, he built Heathkits. When one of us wanted new furniture, we would bring my dad a picture and he would build it. If my mother wanted a new chandelier, my dad made it. If a car wouldn't run, my dad would fix it. If an appliance broke, my dad fixed it. I still have their original 1954 Philco refrigerator and it still runs!!

I remember going to his retirement party and hearing these words, "When you ask Walter Johnson if it can be made and he says, yes, it can, it will be made. He can make something in one hour without plans that most men would take eight hours with plans."

John and I are going to his grave tomorrow to place flowers for Father's Day. We are going today to place flowers on my sisters grave as it is her birthday today. She would have been 54 today and lies next to my parents.

Your Dad sounds very like mine Noel ... he could turn his hand to anything. Sending hugs to all of us who have lost our wonderful Dads. I lost my Dad in 2008 to malignant melanoma and I miss him every single day. I will be taking some flowers to hime today :sad1::sad1::sad1:

I saw on FB that TotallyAngelic Sarah hurt her hand today. Maybe that's why we haven't seen her weekly tradition of the Saturday countdown announcement. I've come to expect it from her!

Sorry everyone .... unfortunately I have cracked a bone in my hand after I slipped down the last 2 stairs in my hallway and caught my fall with my right hand on parquet flooring .... a very very small thing really but they made me have an x-ray when I popped to the A and E for some support bandage to help me write my notes in my shift. X-ray showed a crack in a bone so now it has a splint ( no cast though ... I begged not to have one of those ) and I am "supposed" to rest it for a week, so I got signed off work. Not much you can do as a midwife with no working right hand. Not too painful unless I press on the spot or try and pick anything up or move in a certain way. I feel a bit of a fraud really.

Your dad sounds wonderful. I too will be going to my fathers' grave tomorrow for father's day. Today I went by the Air Force Memorial and printed out the tribute written about him from their Roll Call of Heros. I had to fight back the tears while I was around all the people at the memorial, but as soon as I got to the car I had a good cry. I miss him a lot and I too did not realize how much he had done until his retirement party and then his funeral. I am proud to be his daughter.

Sending :hug::hug: It is so hard when you have lost someone so special.

Sorry you had so much rain. I am afraid my idea of "camping" is a motor home with a tv and microwave. We watched some people next to us in a tent during a horrendous rainstorm just huddling in the tent.

DH went over and invited them over for coffee and the kids for a microwave popcorn and a DVD movie
.

What a kind and thoghtful gesture

Hope you all got everything you wanted booked tonight. My family and I are new to the DisBoards. We are doing the last Med and the TA, back2back. I have just finished reading about 100+ posts. You all sound like very experienced cruisers. This will be our family's 4th Disney Cruise. It will be me, my dh age 39 (he will be turning 40 while on the med cruise on 9-15), ds age 12, dd age 8, and g-ma (my mom). This will be g-ma's first ever cruise, so she is very excited! I signed up on the "roll call", but would also like to do the FE group, scavenger hunt, etc. It all sounds like so much fun. We are also interested in the West Madeira private excursion. I tried to PM Noel, but wasn't able to til I have 10 posts.

Hi everyone, some great info on this thread, I just thought I would introduce myself (be gentle lol)
There is me, Tim and my DW Kerrie, we are from Yorkshire in the U.K. and love everything Disney, we got married in Florida in 2003 on our first trip together to WDW and have been back every year since. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise and can't wait  We bought DVC at Bay Lake Tower last year while on the Magic and have booked this cruise with DVC points (only 330 for both of us :thumbsup2 )
We fly to Barcelona on the 17th with Easyjet from Doncaster and are staying at the Marriot Reannaisance for the night.
I was also up at 5am this morning and managed to get Palo dinner for the day and time that I wanted as well as the 2 shore excursions I wanted, but you can add me to the growing list who couldn't get brunch :sad1: so I will keep checking online or try onboard.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better (I think I know a couple of you already) not long now :banana::banana::banana::banana:

Tim

Welcome to both of you. :welcome:

Glad you managed to get mostly what you wanted. I guess will be having a DIS meet in Rockin Bar D on embarkation day.... see you in the Brunch line !!!!

Better late than never ....

ONLY 13 WEEKS TO GO UNTIL WE JOIN THE DISNEY MAGIC !!!!!
(well 11 weeks and 6 days really !!!)

Hi and welcome Tim and Kerrie. I know you from elsewhere, but i didn't know or notice you are from Yorkshire. Where abouts? We live in Harrogate.

I think thats because I've got Davy Jones' Locker as my location elsewhere pirate:
We live just outside of Hull in Hessle :)

Great weather today and getting better this week. Yesterday was like March again!

John would die a million deaths if I booked the exotic rassul!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Quoting myself here as I realised I had contradicted myself!!!:lmao:

There are a few things I just would not book, knowing John, whether I asked him or not!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well I am pleased, I logged on DCL site at 5am went straight to Palo Brunch and managed to book and confirm it.
We are really pleased, as we didn't get to do Brunch, on our Med cruise this June. It was disapointing as we were 3rd on the waiting list.

We also booked Palo dinner as well, but no excursions as we will do our thing at the ports.
Sorry some of you, didn't get what you wanted and I hope some more openings come up.

To any of you who are Dads on here Have a great Fathers Day. We are going to one of my daughters, for a barbeque. Really lucky as the sun is shining and its quite hot outside.

We just got home from spending the morning jet skiing with some of my family, Girls had a hoot. Even my Dad got out there, and was having a jolly time until my brother sprayed him down, He came back drenched from head to toe, all in good fun though. Remember it's winter here too! Brrrrrr!

...
Love my crocs, not the high heels, just the flats, they are so comfy! I always said I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair, until.....4 or 5 days into our month a WDW my feet were bleeding and swollen and I bought a pair of pink Mickey mouse crocs out of desperation. I am converted, Now we all have them!
...
It is so confusing with the different time zones, My window opens 5th July, but I have absolutely no idea when that is my time in Australia? My brain is hurting just thinking about it!

I am so jealous of you and your weekend getaways! How fabulous to live by the coast. :thumbsup2

Midnight the day prior ET for booking I believe... Australia is ahead of us, so you have to go backwards. Right?:confused3 I think thats right...

Welcome abaord! I grabbed your info from roll call and you, John, Jacob and Megan are officially Coconuts for the FE. We broke into small groups of no more than 15 cabins to help with the luggage restrictions. My kids are excited to see more in their age group! I have a DS - Stephen - who is 13 and a DD - Becca - who is 6.

Any fees associated with my purchase please let me know ...you shouldn't be out of pocket as you are already doing so much for us all

So, again - the fees don't add up to much and if anyone feels that bad Glenn and I are up for a sailaway drink!

Hope that your wrist heals quickly. Don't feel badly about being off of work. Midwives work very hard. I had one for Stephens birth, and Rebecca's middle name is after her. She worked very haard through 2 pregnancies just so I could get Stephen... I had one for Beccas birth as well, but all my prenatal care was with a doc cue to my circumstances. Are you hospital / centre based or home based?

As stated before - you are our third injury - NO MORE GUYS!!! We need everyone in top form for this trip!

Great isn't it, just got back from walking the dog along the banks of the Humber and now plan on doing pretty much nothing for the rest of the day :)

Perfect day then!

Does anyone know what nights are the theme nights? especially the pirate night, as I want to book Palo, and don't want to miss the pirate night.

Hi! My mom went online last night, it was her 90 day mark, she went to sign up
for Palo brunch and tea...it was already gone! She was a little upset with this, it
is one of the few things she,my grandmother and great aunt really want to do.
She called DCL and she was told that gold and platinum members took the ressies.
Anyone else run into this? She is really upset and disappointed. Any suggestions
