Not sure if this makes you feel better or worse, But you've got a better chance of dying 15 mins from your own home, than in an airplane!

I know, but it still freaks me out! The only car accident (well, except for being rear-ended) happened literally 2 minutes from my parent's house. I think it's a control thing - I know how to drive my car but I can't fly a plane. Granted, I can't control everyone else's cars...but still...I'm surprised I even leave my apartment! LOL!

Sorry to clutter the list - but I am trying to wrap up the open FE groups and I need info!! DizzneyDAnn's M box is full, so I am stuck!!

I see 8 people in your group, but I need to know how many cabins are participating, and the ages of the kids.

Also - what part of Chicago are you from? (I grew up in the north western suburbs)

Sue

OK - the truth comes out... DH MADE HARVEY UP!!! I could hit him (hard) right now...

Heres how it played out... DH tucks DS into bed and pops in to chat (I am laying in bed watcing Mercy). I ask if got the picture from Harvey and he say No, I did it. I say something about how the person is signed up for lanyards and FE. He chuckles and says I made him up. He is a 6ft invisible rabbit. He then laughs, apologises and leaves the room laughing says he will go and read my post. Probably a good thing as I was ready to hit him...

So, take Harvey the 6ft invisible rabbit of the list. (Truthfully, I should have know - Harvey the Rabbit and Elwood from Blues Brothers... Way to much of a coincidence...)

Yes, you too can pick on DH!!!

Sue

Actually....I might make your husband wear a nametag that says "Elwood" as punishment :lmao::lmao: OK that name is deleted. Did he make up any of the other entries on the list? Dis-Bits? KellyJeanDVC? figment795 & tigger 795? :lmao::lmao:

Couple of questions -

Eric and Jason, Do you only wear bow ties, or ties aswell, and only Disney designs?

Everyone - When you say eyeglasses kit, do you mean spare screws and screwdriver kind of thing? I am an optical dispenser, I haven't worked for 10 years, but think I could manage replacing screws still.

Do you guys have "Snuggi's" over there? I can just picture us all lined up at the cove cafe with our snuggi's on! Thought about them for FE's, Just can't fit them all in (stupid luggage restriction!).

Ok, That's all for now, Thanks ;)

We only wear Disney bowties (with matching cummerbunds or vests) on formal nights. On all the other nights we wear regular neckties----and, yes, they are all Disney-themed ties (which does NOT mean just Mickey Mouse....we have a WIDE variety----including Mickey, Tigger, Fab 5, Lion King, Toy Story, Villains, Jungle Book, Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell, Donald Duck, 101 Dalmations, Disney Princesses, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocohantas, Snow White & 7 Dwarves, Finding Nemo, Aladdin, Pinnochio, etc.). The only nights we don't wear Disney themed ties and/or formal sets is Pirate Night AND, if they have a "tropical night" (they sometimes do) then we have these obnoxiously loud tropical mickey shirts I made for us that we wear.:thumbsup2

You know how every one line group has the infamous "big hairy guy"? Well, Harvey was ours... Except he wasn't hairy... Rabbits are more like furry...

He is too funny, I can't wait to meet you guys, I think my DH will get along great with your DH, He obviously has a great sense of humour!

OK, Just saw some highly obnoxious Australian Flag ties I was going to pop in your FE's. Sounds like you have quite the collection! Looking forward to seeing them all.
BTW, I hope you didn't find my oral contraceptive joke offensive. My Australian sense of humour isn't alway translated well in writing. :grouphug:

Big thank you to everyone for all the good wishes. We have Becky home with us again for the summer while she recovers. Her exams have been delayed til September so I'm hoping she manages to regain her strength by then. x
:littleangel:

This is very good news. Hugs for you both.
I just got my bathing suit delivered this afternoon, I buy from the same company every year. I was all excited because it is the first piece of clothing I bought for the cruise. Now, I open up the package all excited and inside is a string bikini!!! :scared1: Now, I NEVER wear a string bikini. I was disappointed because I have to send it back, mad because it looked good and I cannot fit into it - well I can fit into it - depending on your definition of "fit" but I guess I am just disappointed and needed somebody to whine too. Sorry!!!

Funny! I have seen one thong bikini on a Disney cruise and there is a story about that. Always a story with us! :rotfl:

I know somebody might think this is a dumb idea, but I know on the TA before a few people did it and it was a great thing. Everybody's luggage is getting heavier and heavier by the day, so I was thinking I could make a list of anybody that is going to bring tylenol, aspirin, pepto, etc. and then we can post it or pass it out somehow so if we are not feeling well, we can see who has that medicine with them and go to their cabin. I know the last cruise I took tylenol, tylenol PM, nyquil, pepto, aspirin, and sore throat medicine and alcohol swabs just in case something happened during sea days or any time really. Sooooo, if anyone is interested, I could make the list and make it happen. I take Tylenol PM every night because of the prescription I take, so I would be happy to have that for anyone that asks. I don't think this is "drug dealing" but on the last cruise some people did that and I thought it was a brillant idea. Helps with all the little bottles and junk and having to buy tylenol onboard for $12.00. Send me a PM or post if you are interested!:grouphug:

I think this is a wonderful idea. I always have benedryl (generic) and we will have Excedrin Back and Body (aspirin and tylenol combo) which is very good for muscle or joint pain. Probably some bandaids too since I am prone to needing them. :rolleyes1

Great! I will start a list with what people will have, and as it gets closer maybe we can eliminate some tylenols, or aspirins - that way one or two cabins will have everything. I don't mind sharing, I just don't want 15 bottles of - what ifs.... We did that last time and I only used tylenol, but everything else was repacked for the plane ride home. Please add anything to the list:

tylenol PM
tylenol
motrin
pepto
throat lozenges
nyquil
sewing kit
alcohol swabs
Benadryl
claritin

I am old fashioned so I will first make the list on paper and then post it as we get down to about 4 weeks so people doing B2B can get it also - if they need it.

This is too funny!!! :lmao:

We are just back from playing squash, unlike last year when we played were not needing marriage guidance meetings:laughing: so that in itself is a result.

That would be us ..... Tony is soooooo competitive. We did archery once and how he didn't get an arrow in the back remains a miracle to this day.:rotfl:

I much prefer a suit that can camouflage rather than reveal!!

Just my thoughts..
.
:surfweb:

Absolutely :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know we will be bringing paracetemol, ibuprofen and a strong cold and flu remedy just in case.

Really :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That is so funny ... no wonder poor Erik didn't get any response. I'm sure he will see the funny side though and will just be grateful to get another one crossed off the list.

OK, so I have to admit, I HATE to fly. There was that plane crash in Libya today and it really freaks me out! I nearly had a panic attack just thinking about flying across the ocean...I've done it too - I flew to Australia in 2000. I was scared then and I'm scared now. I'm going to email my friend who is a flight attendant for JetBlue to see if he can calm me down a little bit. Any words of advice from my fellow cruisers? It's too bad there isn't a smile icon breathing into a bag because that is how I feel right now!

me too .... I absolutely hate it. I am prepared to fly to get from A to B but hate every moment and have to distract myself from the fact that I am actually up in the air. If we get any turbulence I am a wreck.

WOW ... you guys are amazing .....can't wait to see all of your ties. I thought my DH was doing well with a Mickey tie or two :rotfl2:

Shooting thru the air locked in a metal tube with a couple hundred complete strangers. :scared1: :lmao: Just to lighten it up a bit. ;)

Great Idea!

We are "those kind" of people that bring items b/c it might happen!:lmao:
We'll have tylenol, asprin, a small first aid kit, a sewing kit, and many more daily products. Oh and tons of sunblock!
I think someone forgot my middle name is "Over packed" !:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Remeneber... Im the one who brought 12 pairs of shoes on a cruise and wore every pair!!!!:woohoo:

Ann:surfweb:

I take everything just in case!!!! If you want something, just come and find me!!:lmao:

As an aside. We must make sure we only give out common meds for common conditions. No diagnosing!!!!!:sad2:

:rolleyes1 My first thought there were nappies/diapers!!! What a vision of loveliness in Cove Cafe that was.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

However, they are called Huggies, fortunately!!!:lmao:

Thank goodness somebody laughed at my Oral contraceptive joke, I was a little afraid I'd offended!

That would be a better site, us all lined up with nappies / diapers on! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

OK....so does anyone actually KNOW the person who signed up for lanyards under the DIS name "Harvey" (they listed their real name as Elwood and said they're in cabin 6200 and doing the B2B cruise).

I actually looked up the person's profile on the DIS and they had the "send an email to Harvey" option available so I sent an email to them (rather than PM...which I have sent but which have not garnered any replies). The response I got was from a woman named Cindy who said that "Harvey" is her DIS screenname and that she has no idea who Elwood is and that she is not on our cruise. So I'm a little confused. He is still on my lanyard list and he is still listed on the website roll call/roster page......????:confused3:confused3:confused3
its a mystery:rolleyes1(now Ive read the rest)
I guess you haven't visited Toronto in February. One of the worst aspects of my job is being called out of a snuggly, warm bed and out into a freezing, windy cold night, when it is so cold the car whines being started up, and the snow is crispy it is so frigid. Cold enough that wet hair freezes in the 15 steps from the front door to the car. Toronto in February is really, really cold. And damp. And windy.
I think it is a rawness, bitter cold, ive been at the top of the alps, its cold but its a horrible wet cold in anstruther, not crispy cold, its all horrible though, well excpet the alps that I love.
I honestly don't know how we got his picture. I dion't have it in email and I don't delete (work habit...). I will have Glenn look as well - maybe he will have record of where the photo came from.

I am a bit befuddled as well. I am trying to keep the FE groups to a certain size and i am not gettting answers from people... It is a bit discouraging isn't it?
:rolleyes1

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, thats too funny, tell Glen it made me laugh lots.
That sounds plain scary! The coldest it gets here is jeans, long sleeve top, sweater and scarf....in the middle of the night! And we all complain about how cold it is! Sydney and Melbourne gets a little chillier though.

I bring the Oral Contraceptive pill and vitamins. So if anyone wants to avoid getting pregnant, I'm your gal....That means you Eric and Jason! :rotfl:

Why do you have to get up in the middle of the night? Are you on call for work? What do you do?

This really is alot of work! You are awesome! I've said it before, I'll say it again........It's people like you who make my first cruise so much more special! Thank-you! :flower3:

12 pairs of shoes, That is fantastic, We are going to be great friends!!!

I LOVE IT!!!! :rotfl2:That is so funny, Probably not so funny for Eric right now, but I'm sure he'll look back and have a chuckle. I'm glad he's made up, he was starting to freak me out, being so mysterious! :rotfl:
Whoi said 12 pairs of shoes, :laughing:and what size are they.
That stinks! You are all excited and the wrong thing is in the box! Whine away!

Have you read the autobiography of sullenberger?
It is a brilliant brilliant book and it is amazing how safe our planes are. I LOVE to fly even though I do it lots, Im really old fashioned and think it is a total priveledge.
That would be us ..... Tony is soooooo competitive. We did archery once and how he didn't get an arrow in the back remains a miracle to this day.:rotfl:

:
An arrow in the back:rotfl:,last time we stopped he hit me in the jugalar with a ball at full pelt. It was some bruise.

I missed your joke, sometimes Im not too bright, I ALWAYS take contraceptive seriously.........
At work folk phone up all the time to emergencys,,this is how it goes.

" My dog has just eaten a packet of contraceptive pills,is it an emergency?"
I reply"only if you dont have a pill for tonight":rolleyes1

I too also love flying, I have to say I much prefer it in business class without the kids though! This trip is Economy (cattle class), with the kids, so I don't think I'll be enjoying it as much!
That is so funny, I wonder if the pill would work for dogs? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

They ALWAYS eat seem to be eating the pill !! must be sugar coated or something, really doesnt do them any hard worth worrying about.

Cattle class:rotfl:, weve only ever been in cattle class:laughing:
But flying is flying, I am as I mentioned pretty old fashioned and could slap the folk that talk over the captain speaking, I mean, have some respect.
I seriously want to hear anything the guy has to say, I also put there name to memory just to see if we ever get him again. mad I know.

I HATE flying!!! In reality, it is the only way to go because I hate sitting in a car for a long ride to get somewhere. I don't look out the window, I always look at the pilot, and talk to him if possible, I bring magazines (that is a given) and during take off I just read, sometimes if I have a blanket, I like to cover up and I NEVER talk! If it is bumpy, I close my eyes and think of something that gives me peace - sometimes I fall asleep - other times I survive. We went to Boston in February and the pilot came on, right after take-off and said, "It is going to be a bad flight." My DH was like, "OH great, my wife will stare into space the whole flight." My DH, who LOVES to fly will explain that it is safe, etc. yadda yadda whatever. I also, and people might think this is weird - but I look at ALL the passengers as they walk on and I walk on to make sure they all look sane and that they have a purpose in life that doesn't involve me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Band-aids - brillant!! I never thought of that one! Thank you Mrs.Mork!

Birth control - I did get it and did NOT get offended!!!:rotfl2: I just read everybody's posts. I have the best birth control on board, the husband is at home.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Tasting cut off is July 15.

What a great way to celebrate your 60th! The 60+ years are great.:)
Thanks!

Just wanted to say Thank You to all the kind words and thoughts ,
also wanted to say we are

:welcome: to the club!

Evening all. Sorry haven't really had time to catch up as you've all been very chatty. My Grandmother unexpetantly passed away on Sunday night so with this and exams next week I'm not sure Ill be around much but just wanted to say hi to everyone! I will try and keep popping it. As it is the funeral is on Thursday afternoon next week (exams Wednesday and Thursday morning) so hopefully after that will get a chance to pop back over! Please don't type too much in the mean time
I am so very sorry to see this Sarah. :grouphug::grouphug:

sorry to hear your news Sarah, best wishes to you and your family xx

Could I ask a massive favour of all you lovely people please? I know you don't really know us yet but I do hope we'll get to be friends. My darling daughter needs lots of positive thoughts and prayers right now and anyone has some to spare I'd be grateful.
She suffers terribly from chronic depression (since she was 14) and has just been in hospital again...I won't go into too many details, but she is a lovely bright girl and this is worrying me sick.

Any prayers would be wonderful thank you xx
Done.

Welcome to the two of you.
Thanks!

A little misc. stuff.

I will have a huge bottle of Excerine Migraine and low dose aspirin.

Flying.....

Here's my take on flying. I hate it. I absolutely hate flying through turbulence. Hate it. I will get airsick. My longest flight has been to California; about 5 hours. I was on Southwest with no movie, nothing. Didn't have the sense to pack my laptop with my DVD. Nothing. Miserable.

Plan for Barcelona... Get on plane. Eat a very light dinner. Take Excederin PM. Wash it down with two bottles of wine. Sleep. If I can sleep for 5 hours, I will be completely rested and ready for daytime Barcelona. I am hoping to be knocked out is case there is any turbulence. That's my plan...

TASTING SHIRTS::

OK, I have permission to use the graphic that was shown earlier for the tastings shirts. Jordak was kind enough to say YES and the mods basically said that as long as Jordak was good, we were fine. So, please submit all shirt orders by May 28th.

STANDARD CRUISE SHIRTS::

Please submit all orders by May 28. Once we have orders we will get exact pricing and shipping. Not sure how we will go about getting the shirts out to everyone at this point, but I don't think I have an extra suitcase... Maybe Todd does... :) (doubtful) :rotfl:

FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE::

LAST CALL!!! Please have all requests to be added to the group in BOTH your roll call entry on www.transatlanticpirates.com and to my PM box (which I have emptied out) by May 28th.

For all of the above, once we get to the 28th I will finalize all of the lists and post them. I will take corrections until June 7.

Thanks,
Sue
