Tomorrow we have a day off in The Netherlands, so we will go to Amsterdam to look at a cruiseship. We going to visit a ship off Costa Cruises the ship is from 2009. We can look on the ship for 3 hours, hope to see the things we normally not get to see when we're on the cruise.

Eric & Jason thanks for the landyards.

Your day sounds like fun! Let us know how the ship is. I wish Disney would do that with the Dream, but not a chance I am sure.

Jason and Erik - thanks for all the hard work - I know it is time consuming!! If I can help in any way down in Florida, please let me know.

Big thank you to everyone for all the good wishes. We have Becky home with us again for the summer while she recovers. Her exams have been delayed til September so I'm hoping she manages to regain her strength by then. x
:littleangel:

Glad that she is home with family!

Sue - Just to keep you out of the doghouse a bit more, Jordak is a guy, not a gal. He was super nice and helped me out with a difficult Phineas & Ferb design I'd worked up.

Thanks! I saw the signature line "Marty " and instantly thought of my Aunt Marty and never looked back...

FWIW, HE doesn't have a problem with us using the disign, but I am trying to do the right thing and get someone up the food chain to agree that it is OK.

Sue

UKANGEL - glad to hear that your daughter is home with you! She is in the best care now.

Thanks for the info on Jordak, he did a few signs for me, but I was talking to her like he was a "she". He does great work!!!!

Sarah sorry to hear about your Grandma sending you

Mandy glad your daughter is home :flower3: hope she makes good progress over the summer.

Sarah & Elizabeth

I watched a programe on sky with costa cruises, cruise ship diaries, I love it, its brilliant.
Have a great day and we want to see some pics.

I just got my bathing suit delivered this afternoon, I buy from the same company every year. I was all excited because it is the first piece of clothing I bought for the cruise. Now, I open up the package all excited and inside is a string bikini!!! :scared1: Now, I NEVER wear a string bikini. I was disappointed because I have to send it back, mad because it looked good and I cannot fit into it - well I can fit into it - depending on your definition of "fit" but I guess I am just disappointed and needed somebody to whine too. Sorry!!!

:rotfl: I dont do string bikins either!

We are just back from playing squash, unlike last year when we played were not needing marriage guidance meetings:laughing: so that in itself is a result.

How disappointing that the first thing you buy for the cruise you have to return!! I don't blame you for not wearing a string bikinki. I have seen a few males and females wearing them and unless you have the perfect body, it isn't the most pleasant sight to come across. I much prefer a suit that can camouflage rather than reveal!!

Just my thoughts..

I don't even do bikinis, but the thought of me in a string one makes me:sick: and:blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush:

OK....so does anyone actually KNOW the person who signed up for lanyards under the DIS name "Harvey" (they listed their real name as Elwood and said they're in cabin 6200 and doing the B2B cruise).

I actually looked up the person's profile on the DIS and they had the "send an email to Harvey" option available so I sent an email to them (rather than PM...which I have sent but which have not garnered any replies). The response I got was from a woman named Cindy who said that "Harvey" is her DIS screenname and that she has no idea who Elwood is and that she is not on our cruise. So I'm a little confused. He is still on my lanyard list and he is still listed on the website roll call/roster page......????:confused3:confused3:confused3

I know somebody might think this is a dumb idea, but I know on the TA before a few people did it and it was a great thing. Everybody's luggage is getting heavier and heavier by the day, so I was thinking I could make a list of anybody that is going to bring tylenol, aspirin, pepto, etc. and then we can post it or pass it out somehow so if we are not feeling well, we can see who has that medicine with them and go to their cabin. I know the last cruise I took tylenol, tylenol PM, nyquil, pepto, aspirin, and sore throat medicine and alcohol swabs just in case something happened during sea days or any time really. Sooooo, if anyone is interested, I could make the list and make it happen. I take Tylenol PM every night because of the prescription I take, so I would be happy to have that for anyone that asks. I don't think this is "drug dealing" but on the last cruise some people did that and I thought it was a brillant idea. Helps with all the little bottles and junk and having to buy tylenol onboard for $12.00. Send me a PM or post if you are interested!:grouphug:

OKWJIM and YodaMouse both responded and are confirmed that so that makes my list of question marks even shorter! :thumbsup2

You've got the idea! I was in Brisbane once during the State of Origin. It was fun but somewhat subdued compared to a Bruins-Trojans game!!! :rotfl:

WOW, Sounds scary! :scared1:

Just wanted to let you all know that I broke the rules - it was not intentional and I have remedied the situation. The DISign for the Tasting shirts was done by Jordak. I had no clue that we couldn't use these for shirts that were being charged for. Thanks to Corrina for letting me know.

Long story short, I have reached out to Jordak, who has let me know that as long as no one in our group profits from the shirts that in her eyes we are clear to use her DISign.

I am trying to figure out who else I need to get with to make this happen, but I really don't want anyone to get into trouble over this.

So, stand by on the tasting shirts while I figure out if we can use the DISign without breaking any of the rules.

Im heading to the doghouse to sit a spell...

Sue

Watchout, the police will be knocking on your door any minute! :scared1:
No, Just Joking, I understand your anxiety about the situation, but I'm sure it will all be fine, It was an honest mistake.

Odd you say that. Our kids and friends had a surprise party for us on our 40th anniversary. Now, I know lots and lots of folks have vow renewals and that is it very meaningful to them, but.....well, part of the surprise was our minister was there and they planned a vow renewal for us. We had NEVER talked about this between the two of us (Dennis and I), but when they told us about the plan we both looked at each other and grimmaced. We both had exactly the same reaction and thoughts.....neither of us ever broke our vows (any of them - I even continue to honor;)) and we are certain they don't expire so why would we need to renew them....they are not old or stale??? So, the minister read our reaction, took us aside and told us that our children want to share this since they were not able to be there at the wedding. Oh, ok....we did our best to seem sincere and not ruin it for them. But to us, the first vows took just fine.

as Noel would say....just my thoughts. I know we are just plain weird! :lmao:

My DH and I have been married for 11 years and I only hope that we feel the way you do in another 29 years!!! I love that you still did it for your kids though, :thumbsup2

Big thank you to everyone for all the good wishes. We have Becky home with us again for the summer while she recovers. Her exams have been delayed til September so I'm hoping she manages to regain her strength by then. x

That's fabulous news, Nothing better than Mummy looking after you! :lovestruc

I am having a wonderful day. I am drinking my freshly seeped combo Rooibos Tropica andJasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls Green Tea.

That sounds complicated! I'm having my plain lady grey with skim milk, how boring!

How annoying, It's so exciting to start getting organised for the cruise, I would be so upset if I had to return. I guess that's the problem with ordering stuff online. I know what you mean about the 'fit', some people think their clothes 'fit', but quite clearly the rolls of flesh bulging from the waistband says differently! I should be careful what I say, because after 2 weeks of eating on the cruise I might be the one with the bulging flesh!!!! :scared1:

As part of our class, we spent a day working in the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther Fife. I can't think of many places that were colder in January than it was out on those docks!

I guess you haven't visited Toronto in February. One of the worst aspects of my job is being called out of a snuggly, warm bed and out into a freezing, windy cold night, when it is so cold the car whines being started up, and the snow is crispy it is so frigid. Cold enough that wet hair freezes in the 15 steps from the front door to the car. Toronto in February is really, really cold. And damp. And windy.

Evening all. Sorry haven't really had time to catch up as you've all been very chatty. My Grandmother unexpetantly passed away on Sunday night so with this and exams next week I'm not sure Ill be around much but just wanted to say hi to everyone! I will try and keep popping it. As it is the funeral is on Thursday afternoon next week (exams Wednesday and Thursday morning) so hopefully after that will get a chance to pop back over! Please don't type too much in the mean time

I'm so sorry. My condolences to you and your family. :grouphug:

Have a wonderful trip! I can't wait to hear about it when you return!

I love all of the puppy pictures! Keep posting them! They are making me smile even though I don't feel much like smiling with my job search. I'm just frustrated with how I have to go about applying for the different jobs. I take so much time and consideration when I apply and then I really never hear anything back. My family is telling me that it takes a long time and to be patient. I know it takes a long time, but I can't help but be frustrated with it. Sigh...sorry about the vent. :sad1:

Oh yes, that process is awful. I'm sorry you are going through it.

sorry to hear your news Sarah, best wishes to you and your family xx

Could I ask a massive favour of all you lovely people please? I know you don't really know us yet but I do hope we'll get to be friends. My darling daughter needs lots of positive thoughts and prayers right now and anyone has some to spare I'd be grateful.
She suffers terribly from chronic depression (since she was 14) and has just been in hospital again...I won't go into too many details, but she is a lovely bright girl and this is worrying me sick.

Any prayers would be wonderful thank you xx

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's illness. Depression can be such a monster. I hope she feels better soon, and that it's not too hard on you.

Being a Florida resident, I think about how miserably cold our northern tier states get in the winter. Then I remind myself that there's another whole country north of them! I don't know how you do it. :confused3

OK, I think that we need to take whoever it is off the list... I will edit the roll call and FE. We can add back if need be...

Thoughts?

I think this is a great idea. Due to alergies and skin conditions we will have Benadryl (generic tablets), motrin and Claritin redi-tabs.

Come one come all... We buy in bulk as both DH and DD both have classic exzyema head to toe, so if it is anti itch, I have you all covered!
