For this trip she will be staying with dad, but I completely understand. I stay home during the day so I get to spend even more time with her. Usually when we take family vacations, just the 3 of us, she stays with Goofy Granny and she is a GREAT sitter!!!

When my DS Karen was alive, she and her DH took the dogs. Now both parents and DS is gone. Her DH and son moved to Mt Shasta. My youngest DD works two jobs and wants to move back to San Diego so there really isn't anyone to watch dogs. Ours would always mope and hardly eat when we were gone so don't think we will be doing dogs any more.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE!!!

I take a day off and come back to 11 pages!!!

It's like "war and peace" trying to keep up with you guys. :rotfl:

Hello to all you new folks, and welcome.

I've got nothing to reply to, or add. I promise not to take another day off ;)

SW

Not quite War and Peace but more like Gone with the Wind....

This is just my opinion, but I would much rather read what everyone writes on these pages then tackle War and Peace again!

Birkner - thank you for sharing some of your life with me (us) - helps to get to know each other better. I can talk for hours and there are questions I would love to ask, but maybe I will save that for some ice tea, chicken fingers and a chair on Deck 9.

I love to read but not War and Peace again either!! Chatting on board sounds like a great plan. If you have any questions, you can always pm me and we can correspond on email so as not to fill up the board.

Just my thoughts...
Ciao for now, Noel

I originally planned to bring a "War and Peace" length novel on the cruise (A Suitable Boy) i had an illusion of sitting on deck all day long leafing through endless chapters.....

Then i discovered this forum, and realised that inbetween Candy Swaps, Fish Extender deleveries, Wine Tastings, Board games and general Chit chat with all you guys i'll be lucky to have enough time to read "The Cat In The Hat!" :rotfl:

I've scalled back my reading intentions and decided to bring "Shutter Island", i wanted to see the film, but was told the book was loads better. So i'll be the one on deck looking scared. Just don't creep up on me.

With our intermediate Air Berlin weight restrictions, I think I am going to stick to the paperback and magazine exchanges.

Just my thoughts...

I really enjoyed the tea, but it is usually first to go. However on the PC cruise everybody who wanted a tea booking did eventually get one which was good!!! They just went on a wait list and got the call!!

We probably won't bother with dinner either. Though we might change our minds!! I love the brunch though but really feel stuffed afterwards as I just keep on eating.

So, probably will just do the tea this time.

We will go up to Topsiders for dinner a couple of nights, and perhaps one night eat junk food on deck!!!!

We went to tea on our Western Caribbean cruise last year and loved it. Unfortunately by the time we had booked the Med cruise, all the slots for tea at Palo had gone. So that is definitely on the wishlist for the next cruise.

Hi I'm Goofy Granny and Hoagie Pie's MIL. :) I have a lot to read but I wanted to say hi! Looking forward to meeting you all in September.

I would like to sign up for FE's but didn't put that on my roll call. Sorry!

:welcome: on board.

Corinna

You must have gotten a fantastic deal, because even when I did Trainer for the Day for the first time in 2003, I already paid $399.

The dolphin swim package should include a 14 day pass for either Seaworld, Aquatica or Busch Gardens. If you pay the extra, you get all three parks, but the validity of the pass is still the same.

Corinna

Whatever I booked isn't called 'trainer for a day'. It's called the 'Dolphin Swim Package' and includes 1 day at Seaworld as part of the 'bundle'.
I booked in February for 6 people, Not sure whether it was a special deal or not?

Hi, and Welcome!!! :goodvibes

Do we have a date that we want to do tea? I heard from DCL concierge and I have a conference set uop with them for next week. If there is a date we are looking for, I can see if they can get it set uop for us.

Just a thought...

Sue

Lucky your in Concierge!!! What great perks! :thumbsup2

The price you are quoting is about what we paid for the Trainer for the Day. All of us are Platinum Pass holders for Sea World so perhaps that is why it was such a good deal. We did this in 2006.

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

We don't have any passes? Must have been a special?

LittleDisneyLovers - see you on Deck 9 for some good mag reading!!!!:cool1:

It's a date! :rotfl:

We have used Budget through Usrentacar, so you can pay in £'s beforehand. Budget is the 2nd closest and Hertz is the closest I believe. Both have shuttles to and from their depots and the port. It has been quite easy the 3 times we have used them.

Thanks, I needed this info too ;)

Okay, so I thought I would show pictures of who my Hoagie Pie actually is:

I hope this is bigger! She is one of the greatest joys in my life!!! I never had a dog and when we got her, took me a while to get adjusted, but now I cannot imagine life without her. I am sure many of you feel that way because I have seen your pet pictures, which are so adorable. Oh well, still small, but I am getting the hang of it!

So cute, Now I have to post a picture of my baby! She a little bigger now, She is 1 and a half now. Her name is Holly, She's a spoodle (cocker spaniel cross poodle). She's a water baby, always jumping off our pontoon chasing the ducks!
BalletConcert2008301.jpg

She is a sweetie!! I can not face having another dog after we lost our two Cocker Spaniels. We had them for 14 years. Since we travel so much these days it wouldn't be fair to have fur babies.

Just my thoughts.
:surfweb:

That is my biggest concern when we travel, My fur baby! We have a great family who all help out, but I still worry! :sad2:

It's not worth taking a day off, It takes hours to catch up, Just don't go anywhere.....ever again! You've been told! :lmao:

The movie was very ordinary, I hope the book is better for your sake! :thumbsup2

LittleDisneyLovers - LOVE the doggie!! How cute! Holly is adorable and those eyes - it always speaks volumes!

I hope we don't have the same magazines that way we can swap!! I told my MIL I need a longer FE so I can put magazines in there to share with other people. Goofy Granny is an excellent seamstress!

We are also leaning towards this one .... as it's shorter we would get some time to visit the local town aswell.
please please do this one, we are def trying to do the am cruise.

I have a question for anyone who has rented a car from Port Canavarel before....Is there a site that is nearest the port? Do they pick you up after the cruise so you can go get the car?

Any recommendations?

We've always picked up our car from the airport in the past and obviously this time we will be sailing in rather than flying :cool1:

Thank you:angel:
budget, always been great

good ha ha
What are DIS friend for if not to help each other?

Erik is a sweetie. He and Jessica were at a wedding of a close friend when that shot was taken. Erik is about a year old than youngest DD Samantha and they were very close growing up, often times being mistaken for brother and sister. He and his brother Rob played football for De La Salle High School and also played football for Colorado State and Leigh respectively.

Here is a shot when he was much younger. Perhaps you can see some resemblance to DD Samantha.

spoodle, :lmao: I just love how they make up names for cross breeds, we get seagles, shnoodles, sprockrs, you name it they will cross it and give it a name.

But seriously, that puppy dog is seriously cute.

My daughter and I love your Beagle Bling. Abby loves doggie fashion! Does your "bling" have a name? We would love to know! I guess I am the only one that uses my dog's name for my DIS. At least with my lanyard I can keep her name close to my heart!!!! I also have a picture of her as a door magnet!!

Well, i cant wait to see more pics , Orly with the "bling " on, never gets dressed up unless its for his beagle club partys he goes to.
I just reread you post, he is called, orlando !!!! orly for short, cause by the time I got to orl he was 5 mins up the dam road!!!!:lmao:

Bwahahaha..... I wonder how many crew would come running if one yelled really loudly on deck? And would I get the brig for doing such an evil deed?:cool2:pirate:

I made a very quick run (well, ok drive) to town today and decided to make a quick stop to look for shoes....less than half an hour and I found TWO pair for the cruise! SCORE!! :dance3: Sandals and a pair of white tennies that are very light weight. Yay!!! Now I am set and think I can make it with 3 pair of shoes...black heels for dress up dinners, black sandals I just bought for daytime ship and also for cruise casual dinners. Tennies for excursions. Yeah!

Ahoy mates , Since it is Mothers Day I felt it appropriate to finally come here to the board and tell my story of the last year and why my disappearance for most of it ...First let me say , that without my Mothers help and caring , along with friends and family I may not have made it through this year .

Last June I was hit with my marriage of 15 years was ending , it was a shock and too be honest I wont go into the particulars , but at 41 I was devastated. Of course Mom to the rescue and I couldnt thank her enough , she was there every minute and day, she put her troubles and aliments on the shelf to tend to her son, she gave me hope when I had none and gave me strength when I was weak. She steered me to God and to prayer and eventually everyday became just a bit brighter. It still baffles me to this day that after my 42 years of life my Mom is one of the wisest people I know, she to me is God sent in every meaning of the word and I love her dearly ..

Now almost a year later , Thanks to God , my Mother , My Family and dear Friends, life is grand .. I met a beautiful women who I claim is heaven sent because in my eyes she is .. Her name is Helen and she should be joining Me and my son Destin on this cruise along with her son Sean . On April 27th 2010 after 7 months of dating we made a covenant to each other and God . This cruise will be our delayed Honeymoon as we have lots of particulars we are trying to take care of .... So there you have it ... This Mothers Day mean's soooooooo much to me cause without mine , I may not have weathered the storm... So to my Mom .. I love you endlessly Happy Mothers Day ...

And to all of you , thank you for at least reading ...and now let me share with you pictures of one of the Happiest days of my life ...
[ pirate:

Congratulations to you both.

but I wanted to share just 2 of my 4 legged babe pics from dornach a few weeks ago

How lovely is she. We had two cocker spaniels up to the age of 12 & 13 and are now looking after one who is 3 years for a few months.

Nice to meet you. I'm Stephanie. This is my birthday cruise. I'm traveling with my BFF (best friend forever) Terry. We both will turn 60 on this cruise. We are really excited.:dance3::dance3:

Hi everyone.
Just a general post as I wanted to say bye for a couple of weeks, as I am off on the Med cruise. :dance3:
We have decided to get an earlier flight, so as to make sure we get there, with this stupid ash cloud. :headache:.
We havent been to Barcelona before, so lm sure we can amuse ourselves for 3 days :lmao:.
Will post back when I return.
Have a good few weeks, I am sure with all the daily posts it will take ages to catch up. :)

Have a wonderful trip! I can't wait to hear about it when you return!

I love all of the puppy pictures! Keep posting them! They are making me smile even though I don't feel much like smiling with my job search. I'm just frustrated with how I have to go about applying for the different jobs. I take so much time and consideration when I apply and then I really never hear anything back. My family is telling me that it takes a long time and to be patient. I know it takes a long time, but I can't help but be frustrated with it. Sigh...sorry about the vent. :sad1:

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE college football! :cheer2: USC Trojans here! Fight on! (Hmmm rather a bad year for us last year also!)

I definitely prefer college football over pro. My two favorite teams are the UCLA Bruins and whoever is playing against USC :rolleyes1 (University of Spoiled Children :lmao: )!
